Single ManBeing a single man I can eat Lamingtons and Chicken Kebabs for tea,
Being a single man I can walk around in my underwear and only do the washing once a week.
I can enjoy two hours of car racing on the playstation and watch what I want when I want,
I can sleep until midday, fall asleep on the couch, mainly because I have stayed up all night.
Being a single man I can have my music as loud as I want and as bad as I want any time of the day,
Being a single man I can wash the dishes when I feel like washing the dishes.
I can come home as late as I want, snore if I want too, and leave my cut whiskers in the sink,
I can sing as badly as I want, as loudly as I want any time of the night and only my dog barks at me.
But being a single man isn't all it's cracked up to be and like most single men I would give it up in a second for the right woman.
Fresh EyesI love the dark and I love the dirty things about you,Fresh Eyes2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I love the way your long hair drapes down your back.
The look in your eyes that says you lust after me,
The curl to your lips when you talk about my torn jeans.
I love the way you leave your underwear on my bedroom floor,
And your smell on my pillows and my fingers.
The way your lipstick is smeared down the back of my neck,
And your perfect fingerprint is indebted into my shoulder.
Whether it's waterfights, games of Snap! Or just kissing, we always have fun,
Even when we just sit there and stare at each other, trying to see into each other's past.
I always wonder if you're too hurt on the inside, whether men have done to you what I've done to women,
And whether that effects the way you view me, or whether you see me with fresh eyes.

Naked and glistening
Contrasted under the cotton sheets
Is to recall the grandiose of the stars
Retuning to the humbling innocence of newborn planets
And the substance of the human heart
Creation at the peak of mercy
A power greater than I or any man
Whose genius is enough to allow him to embrace fire
Or take the arm of a galaxy
Or capture the heart of the universe
For reality is not seeing what you believe
Belief is seeing reality
And I am blessed
