CHRISTMAS, CHRISTMAS, O' JOY! /W/ sorry ..getting sentimental you guys..
I know I am not a popular deviant and that I am still a bit new here, but if I can make people smile and just do what I can to help other deviants and give, honestly that is what I give a supreme damn about I want to give points to people just because..there isn't anything wrong with that eh..
I do not have a lot of points :'/o but I just like to host raffles and give points away to my beautiful/awesome watchers, thank you so much for supporting me, honestly I appreciate it so much and whomever else who thanks and appreciates their watchers a lot, you rock, bless yew! :3 30 points is all I have left, if anyone would like to donate to help keep these going, that'd be awesome but I do not wanna bother anyone.
Very Good Story I FoundI just love this story... TOTALLY NOT MINE THOUGH!Very Good Story I Found3 years ago in Personal More Like This
As I sat there in English class, I stared at the girl next to me. She was my so called "best friend". I stared at her long, silky hair, and wished she was mine. But she didn't notice me like that, and I knew it. After class, she walked up to me and asked me for the notes she had missed the day before and handed them to her. She said "thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I wanted to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.
The phone rang. On the other end, it was her. She was in tears, mumbling on and on about how her love had broke her heart. She asked me to come over because she didn't want to be alone, so I did. As I sat next to her on the sofa, I stared at her soft eyes, wishing she was mine. After 2 hours, one Drew Barrymore movie, and three bags of chips, she decided to go to sleep. She looked at me, said "thanks"

How to: Scroll BoxesTransferred from eCSSercise. How to: Scroll Boxes3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
This is the first part of a tutorial series that I will be working on in the future and will be released whenever I find the time for it.
In order to know how I can make them better and to make it easier for you to understand the things I am talking about it would be appreciated if you would leave some feedback!
For this tutorial series I am explaining different elements you can create or modify with the help of CSS. The level of experience that is needed to be able to understand the tutorials can differ and will be in no order. I will try to explain the things as simple as possible though.
To create a scrollbox you don’t need much, just a box with a limited height or width in order to enforce the scrollbar. If you don’t limit the dimensions of the box it will adjust itself to the space given by the browser resolution and settings.
The limited dimension itself doesn’t create the scrollbar,
Artists on Writers - No. 2, Charles BukowskiArtists on Writers - No. 2, Charles Bukowski2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Issue No. 2|Archives
If the severely acne-scarred face and coarse exterior brought on by his alcoholic and depressed life was the book cover of his being, then Charles was the ultimate book that could not be judged by its cover.
The exquisite collection that was this everyman artist’s art consisted of thousands of poems, hundreds of short stories and six novels—mostly all wrenchingly autobiographical, mostly all about moments of epiphany and grace in an otherwise miserable and unhappy existence. The perfect explication of the common man's deepest truth; it's not easy to be here.
Unvarnished and brutal blunt force trauma underlined with hope, beauty, longing, and love.
Therein lies the power of his poet

advice on some stuff to look up before tutorialsso im gonna be starting to make some tutorials soonadvice on some stuff to look up before tutorials3 years ago in Personal More Like This
before that you should look up some informations
you probably noticed that in my work it is often hard to distinguish if im using a zbrush model or just painined it all in photoshop
reason for that is simple.
my realism rendering is greatly based on 3 d rendering processes.
by this i mean as i learned 3d i became aware of the stuff we usually visually take for granted.
qualities of material, importance of reflectivity, ambient occlusion, and subsurface scattering.
to any 3d artist these are everyday terms, while 2d artists usually paint them without often even being aware of wheat they are really doing
for instance , a 3d artist will at any given point use 2 types of shadows. cast shadows from a direct lightsource, and ambient occlusion shadows which naturally appear more intensively the closer planes of an object are together.
i can get into this and make it a long discussion , but easier w
ATTENTION! Looking for Teachers (Burnt Toast)!Hey everybody!ATTENTION! Looking for Teachers (Burnt Toast)!1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Since we are called MangaAcademy: We're currently looking for teachers!!
What does a teacher do? There will be a rotation and 1 teacher will post a lesson like http://mangaacademy.deviantart.com/art/Basic-colouring-lesson-part-2-148340449 or http://mangaacademy.deviantart.com/art/BC-Lesson-3-mistakes-149805199 each month. Most of the time there will be a little homework for the rest of the group. For example with 4 teachers the roation would look like: first month: teacher A, second month: teacher B, third month: teacher C, fourth month: teacher D, fifth month: back to teacher A.
We're looking for good anatomy, style, knowledge of the arts (You can't just draw good, you need to know how it works), and personal dedication.
If you want to apply tell us why you think you'd be a good teacher in the journal comments!!
Our teachers so far:
:iconReini-Dragon: - traditional coloration

J. Paul Getty - The Liberation of Masterpieces as Open Content
The J. Paul Getty Museum has initiated an Open Content Program to share, freely and without restriction, as many of the Getty’s digital resources as possible.
A first sharing of 4,600 high-resolution images of the Museum’s collection, including many masterworks, has just been made available and all are free to use, modify, and publish for any purpose.
In a brilliant stroke, the Getty Museum has liberated one of the top collections of art in the world not just for access but for use. The museum is literally “beaming up” the great works in its collection as living resour
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY NUDES ON D.A?E.B HERE,WHY ARE THERE SO MANY NUDES ON D.A?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
PREPARE YOURSELF FOR A RANT.
I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHY THERE ARE SO MANY GODDAMN NUDE PICTURES ON DEVIANTART.
GRANTED, IM ON THE "NEWEST" PAGE MOST OFTEN. I GO THERE BECAUSE I WANT TO GIVE "NEW" ART SUPPORT. I REMEMBER STARTING D.A AND HOPING THAT SOMEONE WOULD SEE MY PICTURE AND HOPEFULLY FAVORITE IT. I THINK THAT PEOPLE APPRECIATE IT WHEN THEIR ART IS FAVORITED WHEN IT FIRST APPEARS.
AND IM NOT SAYING THAT NUDE PICTURES CAN'T BE ARTISTIC. THAT'S NOT IT AT ALL. I JUST THINK THAT SCREEN SHOTS OF SIMS DOING IT OR RANDOM SHOTS THAT LOOK LIKE IT SHOULD BE IN AN ADULT VIDEO IS NOT .... APPROPRIATE? RELEVANT TO LIFE? I DON'T KNOW. AND OF COURSE THERE'S LIKE YAOI AND CRAZY FANART STUFF OUT THERE --BUT THAT'S ACTUALLY RELATE-ABLE TO SOMETHING. LIKE FANART, EVEN THOUGH IT MAY GET EXTREME, WE CAN SAY LIKE "OH I GET IT, IT'S FROM THAT ONE THING." AND YAOI --MOST OF US JUST TURN OUT HEADS OR LIKE LIVE WITH IT.
BUT SCREEN SHOTS OF TWO SIM GIRLS GETTING IT ON IN THE STREETS?
I KNOW I

PE: 10 tips and tricks not very known about PS10 useful and not very known Photoshop tricksPE: 10 tips and tricks not very known about PS2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
1. Saving your .psd with all layers hidden makes a smaller file compared to saving it with all layers visible.
2. You can use the Crop Tool to quickly increase the canvas size of an image by holding down Ctrl + Alt whilst dragging the Crop Tool outside the current canvas.
3. If you want to see only one of your layers at a time, hold down Alt whilst clicking the eye icon of the layer. (do it again to show all layers again)
4. Holding down Alt while in a dialog box turns the Cancel button into a Reset button, so you can reset the values back to default.
5. If you want to just quickly check a very heavy .psd file, you can hold down Shift + Alt while clicking the Open button. This way Photoshop will open a flattened version of the file.
6. You can change the gray background that surrounds your image with the Paint Bucket Tool, just hold down Shift and make click on the background.
7. Not a very unknown tip, but if y
