Somewhere in the back of her mind she knew her friends wouldn't have approved of her adventuring to the Wounded Coast alone and unarmed, but she couldn't imagine asking them to accompany her. She just needed some time alone to clear her mind, besides it's not like she could really trust any of them by this point anyway. Silently she stood in an small clearing, watching the lingering glow of the sun as it faded beyond the horizon, mimicking the images of her thoughts as she pondered what lead her to this point.
She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath of the twilight's cool breeze before she started to delve deeper into her past. Nothing could ever be easy could it? Running away from the darkspawn wasn't much different from running from the templars. Templars Oh, Bethany She tried to clear her mind by watching the last of the day's light give way to night, but she couldn't get Bethany off her mind. Her family was constantly on the run because Bethany alway

"Get up Rem!!"
"Rem, now. Get up, we have stuff to get done since you wasted our money on that elf." Carver called out as he pull Rem's blankets off. Shivering Rem turned over to see Carver furiously peering down at her. "So, now this is my fault?" she questioned as she sat up. "Well, you went and bought him all that furniture " Carver started. "To replace the furniture you and Anders destroyed. What would you have me do? Let him sleep on the floor?" She stated with the sounds of irritation clear in her tone. "I don't want to hear it. And unless you have found some jobs for us to do, get out." She added.
"I did find some jobs, lets get everyone together and get started. I'm going to go get Anders. You get Sebastian and Fenris. We'll meet at the Hanged Man to discuss" He said as he was leaving the room. As soon as he was gone, Rem pushed the door to so that she could change and get ready for the day. For once the pair made it through the night undisturbed. There was no thrashing, no tossing and turning waking them up in the middle of the night. However, their peaceful night didn't last. As the sun began to rise, Rem's sweet dreams began to sour.
Fenris begrudgingly stirred from his restful slumber by Rem's fitful movements and soft whimpering. He could feel her hands tremble on his chest. With a frown he reached out, gently shaking her shoulder in attempt to wake her. But when she wouldn't wake up he began to worry, "Danarius?" he whispered as he shifted in the bed so that he could look over her delicate form. When he saw that nothing seemed to be wrong he wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her into his strong chest.
He lay there with her in his arms for a while, hoping that his embrace would soothe whatever dream haunted her mind. "Fenris " she mumbled out, "I'm so sorry I never meant to I should have," she added as she writhed in his arms. "I'm so sorry" s

"Ah Champion, thank you for inviting me with you," Zevran said as they headed into the Hanged Man. "Though, I suppose that you wanted my presence for something more?" he quickly added with his typical sly smile.
"Nothing gets by you does it?" Rem asked as she walked into the familiar stench of the tavern.
"Ha ha, I'd be a poor assassin if it did But it seemed too convenient for you to leave your love at home," Zevran explained as he followed behind her, dropping the door behind him.
"He needs the time . After Danarius I don't know what is going on with him " Rem finally admitted, "He'd been gone for a few days and then the next thing I know he's pounding on my door in the middle of the night."
"I know that this can't be easy for him to relive such " she paused looking at the filth covered floor. "I just think he needs time to rest. I'm sure he's not ready to talk and I'm not sure that I'm ready to either," Rem finally admitted as she headed over t

"Carver!" He saw Rem holding out a long object rolled up in her bedding disguising the sword she had obtained from the Winters, "Here I got this for you!" She said merrily as he entered the room half dressed in his light armor to see what she wanted. When he felt the weight of the gift in his hand, he stood there astounded. Looking to his sister as he unraveled the sword. Rem had sent for it to be cleaned and polished to remove any remaining trace of blood, "Where did you get this? We cannot afford to waste our coin on such things." He said, letting his practicality overtake his excitement.
"I found that one of the Winters was no longer in need of it. It seemed a waste to leave it there." Rem stated with a curious smile, "Do you not like it? When I saw it I even wanted it. But I could never wield such a weapon. It appeared to be a worthy blade." She continued on. "Thanks sis, it looks like a fine weapon." He said with a smile as he was inspecting the craftsmanship of the pommel. The gu

How did this happen? she wondered as she finally fell on the hard ground and looked into the night sky. Quietly she flexed her ankles as she stared hopelessly at the stars. She had hardly eaten since they had escaped the raid on her home, every time she closed her eyes she could see them. Her mother and father huddled on the floor. She heard the older man talking, but she didn't have the heart to listen. She knew she should, that her duty was to the Grey Wardens now, but the anguish in her heart was eating away at her. It's okay to mourn you isn't it? At least for one day let me push my duty aside she thought as she rolled onto the floor.
Her mind was her own personal prison. The images of her past constantly flooded her mind as guilt weighed down on her heart. She had always felt something was wrong with Arl Howe, that he was never a man to be trusted. She had tried to tell her father of her thoughts before, but he would have nothing of it.

"Hawke" Fenris greeted her outside her estate. Instantly Rem's face lit up, "Fenris!" She said as if she was surprised to see him there, she turned to him smiling ear to ear, "Ready?" she asked as she walked towards him. "Almost" he said, stopping her in her tracks. "Wha-" she started, but stopped has he planted a quick kiss on her cheek. "Alright, now I'm ready to brave the bloody mage." He said jokingly. Rem reached up and rubbed cheek where Fenris kissed her following behind him.
After a couple of minutes they were in the Market. Waving, Rem greeted Varric, "And where is Blondie?" she asked as she scanned the area. "Ah, he's not here yet. He should be here soon. You know how it is with the clinic." Varric offered. Sitting down on a stair, "well how long do we think?" She said without any expectation of a reply. "Hey!! Sorry I'm late!" Anders said as he panted catching his breath. "Good, now that we are all here lets go. It should be a quick trip."

"Fenris I'll find a way to free you I promise," She vowed as they parted ways at her estate. For a moment she watched as he walked away with his shoulders back and his head held high, he looked like a completely different man than what she saw in Danarius' mansion. Closing her eyes she could see Fenris, with his eyes lowered, sagging shoulders and head bowed. All the signs of submission came back to him so easily She wanted to help him, but she began to wonder if he was fighting for his freedom anymore. Will he fight back when Danarius comes for us? She began to wonder as she turned to go into her estate.
The moment she walked in she heard voices arguing about her mother. "What's going on?" Hawke asked as she entered the main hall. "Maker, where have you been?!" Gamlen asked her angrily, "Have you seen Leandra, is she alright?" he asked anxiously. "No, I've been out all day. I'm sure she is fine. Why?" She asked quietly. Fenris woke up when he felt Rem start to struggle in her arms. "No stop please don't hurt him I'll do anything ." She mumbled in her sleep. Fenris' couldn't help his shock when he heard what she said.. he could feel how tight her muscles were. "Rem Shhh everything is okay." He whispered to her as he held her close. What was she dreaming of? Rem he thought with a frown which soon turned to anger as his thoughts went to Denarius. Fenris cursed him from the depths of his soul for hurting her, to cause these nightmares for her to now live with. There was no place in his heart for mercy now.
It shouldn't be long Fenris thought, but now what should he do Take her straight to her estate or go to the clinic to be seen after? How are they going to react to her now? Damn, this was going to be a lot harder than he thought. I guess the best thing to do would be to bring her home first, get her cleaned up and settled in, explain everything

Fenris silently walked into her room, his bare feet seemed to hover over to the side of her bed. Looking down at her as she slept, he rubbed his bare hand against the inside of her thigh that peeked out of her blankets. His hand paused where the sheets covered her tender flesh. Slowly, he leaned down kissing her lips as he crawled on top of her. Groggily she woke up and smiled, comforted by the weight of him. She was barely able to whisper his name before he claimed her lips once more. They took their time, exploring each other's body. The way he looked at her as he pressed himself against her made her melt inside.
Her heart began to race, and her breath came in gasps as she felt his wicked tongue lapping at her neck. Just when she felt how eager he was she woke up. Groaning, she inwardly cursed her hormones for driving her insane. Every morning she woke up with different desires odd foods, him The foods she could handle, but she knew the trouble that desiring him would be.

Hawke stopped her group of companions as they approached the Dalish camp. "Are you two ready?" she asked calmly as she looked over to the two elves in her company. Merrill looked to be pale as a ghost, obviously anxious for the conversation to come, but Valendil looked rather indifferent about the situation. "I see Let's get this over with then." Hawke insisted as the guards hostily acknowledged her. The quirky banter on the party fell silent as they approached Keeper Marathari.
"Keeper" Merrill greeted calmly with an odd coolness in her tone. "You return to us Dah'len. Have you reconsidered this path at last?" Keeper Marathari asked in a hopeful tone. "No, she hasn't." Hawke interrupted, "She requested my help to repair the eluvian, she said that she needed some tool from your clan to do it. It was late when he was finally leaving Rem's estate to head to the Hanged Man, and Fenris couldn't even think of words to describe how exhausted he was. The last thing he wanted to do was to recite all the events that have gone on for the last two weeks but it has to be done he thought with a sigh.
As he stared at the door to the Hanged Man Fenris started to let his mind wander, who was going to take it the worst? Isabella should be fine with it, she didn't seem especially loyal. Varric is very loyal to Hawke, he was going to take it hard but he should understand what they went through to save her.. but in the end he failed her.. Carver he never seemed to care for him or his sister that was going to end up bad. Enough it's time to get this over with he thought as he pulled the hood to his cloak up and walked into the Hanged man without another thought.
Slowly his walk up to Varric's room felt like a death march, but it was yet again inevitable

Rem rubbed her forehead as she looked up into the sky as she left the Viscount's Keep. The sight of the clear blue sky severely contradicted the storms going through her head, ugh I am not going to drink like that again . Ever again she pledged to herself as she had recalled the events of her first couple of days back in Kirkwall that she could remember. Taking ownership of the old Amell estate was such a bother she thought as she felt the cumbersome weight of it fall from her shoulders. Taking a deep breath she smiled as the sweet smells of Hightown tickled her senses, she couldn't wait to be out of Lowtown especially to be away from Gamlen. That man gave her the creeps. Finally, it seemed like life was finally beginning to look up she thought. It was just too bad that her family couldn't all be there to enjoy it, she thought. The scorn of Carver joining the templars burned like a fresh wound.
Stop it, he made his choice. I knew he would have to become some

So far, everything has been working out fine. Her companions have proven to be quite the interesting ragtag group she has ever seen. She tried to rotate among the group to try and learn a little more about them as well as trying to get everyone comfortable around one another. Therefore she was spending quite a bit more time in the Hanged Man than she normally would sharing drinks and playing cards. Her group always seemed to have all eyes on them. Whether it was the mix of characters there or to sneak glances at Isabella or Rem none of them knew. Varric had his coin on Isabella and Rem, what man wouldn't be drawn to their beauty when faced in a filthy tavern? Isabella was quick to agree, but Rem would always blush and laugh it off.
She had to admit, it was nice to spend time away from Gamlen's hole and enjoy the time with her new found friends. This time she was sitting with next to Anders who even Carver could tell his interest in Rem. Always finding some way to coyly tou

As they entered the Chantry, they were greeted by Sister Patrice, and after a short confrontation she disclosed that her guard's judgment had slipped and told them where to find him. "Screams trap if you ask me" Sebastian asked as he rounded the corner. "Of course it is, you going to try your luck with it too?" She asked with a smile, fully hoping he'd smile back, which he did. Fenris sat in silence, watching the sunrise and fall from his window while he sat in his stiff chair. The events of the last couple of days had been running through his mind non-stop. The thought of her in danger, hurt or worse The thoughts added a weight to his chest that he could not crawl out from.
Then on top of that, he couldn't figure Zevran out. Why was he here? He wondered as he rubbed his hand over his eyes. Where does he get his nerve? He thought angrily as he remembered the Zevran kissing him. And that snide remark he finished thinking with a quiet grow as he noticed the deep orange light had stretched deep into his mansion.
"So, where did you two pick up those beautiful markings of yours?" Zevran asked curiously from the doorway.
Slowly Fenris turned to see the tanned elf casually leaning up against the doorframe. "You're awfully quiet and nosey," Fenris responded flatly as he watched Zevran walk further into the room.
