Through the forest, I walk
Skyclad, the night air caresses me.
Starlight is my illumination
But I see clearly.
In the grove I journey towards
A waterfall gently
I enter the pool, slowly,
And float in peace,
Waiting for Her.
Moving silently through the wood,
And joins me in the pool,
"What do you desire from Me?"
Teach me to love life,
Myself and others
But most, to love You.
"And what do you offer Me?"
Myself, body, mind and spirit
Myself in entirety
"Then come ro Me, Trust Me and join Me."
Linking hands, we move together
Into the awakening day -
I am born.

The Green King
Stands in humility and love
For his bride,
The Mother of all.
Skeletal and outstreched
Digits embrace the sky
As He stands, a gaunt
Sentinel over the dormant
Body of the Mother.
The Green Man, His horns
Pierced with mistletoe
In racked vigil stands.
He lays His hair over Her
And dreams of spring.
Clad in green,
The Mother slowly wakes.
She smiles, and thanks
The Horned One for the
Laughter in the woods.

Autumn walks through fallen leaves
Bare branches, stark in the sun
Hands clasped with a loving glance.
Winter comes, crisp and sharp
Days spent quiet, but with rich laughter
Frost and snow with the world dormant
Nights spent in a warm embrace.
Spring bursts green with life,
Our love as fresh as ever
Matches the season
Refreshed, each day sweet.
Joyous summer, days spent
Relaxed, nights on the balcony
At ease with each other
Our love eternal.
KenningI am found in the bite of the winter.Kenning3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
In the blizzard and the frost.
I claw at the door
And gnaw on the bones.
I am found in the face of the sun.
In the rain and the breeze.
I nurture my bride
With warmth and water.
I am found in the night;
A refuge from labour,
In the gentle embrace
Where lovers join.
I am found in all these.
In the laughter of a stream
and the wildness of the moors.
A Pagan Love SongBeneath the mists of a moonlit nightA Pagan Love Song2 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
upon the wind your voice calls my name
through a fog of dreams I came,
into the Winter's distant shore beside your firelight,
through Autumn's red-orange, your eyes aglow,
by moon tide boundless the ocean's song
with ancient rhythms which carry us along,
the Great Rite begun, as one our bodies flow,
within another world I see you face,
in sorrow and joy entwined we remain
wandering lost in timeless space,
with a memory like falling drops of rain,
so here in a world forgot shall we stay
and amid the ruins we will greet the day.

end to grass blade, end over
end to the water,
if it would help me comprehend
just how much of a single thing
it takes to reach from here
to the maritime between us.
On reaching there, I would
lay driftwood to driftwood,
step across turtle shells
and walk the length of the Atlantic,
if it could make me understand
that the wheeling Earth under the sun
is just one world despite its size.
I would count the footsteps
left on the shore of the sea
at the middle of the Earth
until the beach of Tel Aviv,
and crawl through olive groves
to meet you.
But when I reach
the graffiti-covered wall
and its soldiers,
after my skin was tanned
and stretched taut
against my weary bones
by my repeated steps to you,
will I be able
to understand what it is
to be caged in?

Brittle snap of heather roots,
Bones of the earth.
Grey dominators, stern granite -
Stark pillars of eternity
Devoured by frost and time.
Folorn giants stand in crowded solitude
Raped by winter wind
Frozen in accusation.
Laughter of the wild stream,
Wounded montain, crystal outpouring
lifeblood of the earth.
Caress of the summer breeze -
Perfect unity of elements
Gives life to the spirit.
Scurry of clouds etrip the sun
Naked in his brilliance
to warm his bride.
Sunlight on the poolA toe traces a languid spiralSunlight on the pool2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
In the ripples of the pool.
Ripples, result of a gentle breeze
Kiss you as they frolic
In sensual play.
The waterfall, surrounded by willows
Continues its' joyful chaunt
As the muted birdsong, an echo
of lost innocence,
touches the heart.
You rise, the sunlight broken
By the trees, falls in disarray;
The fragments shimmer
At Your feet, and garlands
Your hair with incandescence.
You enter the pool,
And swim with an easy grace.
The green waters envelop You
As they tenderly caress
Your form, as they have me.
Hesitant, I approach the pool
And kneel in supplication
I hold a circlet of cornflowers
And crown You
Queen of my heart.

Everywhere - here - following voices of all in Greece,
Yet from her mouth, there is no sound.
A fair nymph's merry voice once rung from sky to ground,
Until the cerulean-eyed Queen gave it cruel release –
Her restless heart cries, Love! I am here to be found.
And vainly she, swift of wind, silent of voice, follows round
Her beloved, who scorns her with lips of cerise –
Yet from her mouth there is no sound.
The wind carries her silent lament, for he himself is bound
To one who wears his scornful azure eyes and vain fleece;
Her restless heart cries, Love! I am here to be found.
Surely she knows Eros has struck her beloved's heart deftly around
with passion for a brook whose laugh slays a heart's peace.
Yet from her mouth there is no sound -
The fair flower, who holds Echo's heart, pines as a lover drowned
in longing, for the murmur of his river lover will not cease.
Her restless heart cries, Love! I am here to be
