Chapter Twenty Seven
Andrea was doing better, he didn’t seem as depressed as he did before and he was actually sleeping. Of course Nealson understood that it was going to be hard for him, it would be hard for anyone to lose a parent, but at least some of the guilt that was there seems to have faded away. He just tried to keep reminding Andrea that it wasn’t his fault that she didn’t get to see Nate and Sophia a lot or that he didn’t talk to her a lot.
It’s been a few weeks since that night and Andrea’s now into his fifth month of pregnancy. His stomach’s grown a little more and it was a little more obvious that he was pregnant. Wearing most of his maternity shirts as well now. Mostly because they were just more comfortable. Especially since while reducing Sophia’s feedings his chest just seems to constantly be really sore and swollen.
Right now, though, Andrea was getting a check up a

Luckily, this pregnancy wouldn’t be nearly as risky as the first one because Andrea’s body had already went through all of those changes once so it wouldn’t be nearly as hard for it to go back through them. Essentially, it would be a normal low-risk pregnancy unless something else came up. Which really was amazing.
Which also meant that they’d be able to tell everyone a lot earlier than before. Just waiting until the 14 week mark so that Andrea would be officially into the second trimester. Still, both of them were very excited for another child. Anyways, Andrea was feeling a lot better than last time. With Sophia he could hardly keep anything down but he just got a little nausea here and there occasionally but it didn’t keep him from eating or anything, which was really good since of course he was pregnant and the baby needed the nutrition but also because he was still breastfeedin

When Ashley got up at like six in the morning, Jaelyn was the one that got up and went out to the living room with her. Of course he had sort of dozed off while she was having her usual morning feeding but it wasn't like he wouldn't have woken up if there was anything out of the ordinary happening.
Which... there wasn't. Until Ash came out and decided to wake him up.
Deciding that he probably should actually attempt to wake up, Jaelyn tried not to be angry at his boyfriend and sat up on the couch, looking down at where Ash was sitting on the floor leaning against the couch. "What?" he asked through a yawn.
"You should make me something to eat," Ash said, looking back up at the other. His voice was still nearly gone, low and scratchy and well... Honestly, Ash still looked like hell.
Which probably wasn't good considering Ash was 24 weeks pregnant. But the cold had started with a little sore throat and a cough a few days ago and had

Turns out that Zoe got into a car accident. Ran a red light on a busy intersection. His left arm was broken in several places and he’d need several surgeries to fix it. But at least that was the absolute worst that there was. Aside from various other bruises and cuts that needed stitches, he was fine. At least... physically. But under constant supervision, and Deandre had to wait outside for the therapist they had called to come out.
By that time, Nealson had come and dropped off Annie, telling Deandre that he was going to bring Kris and Kendall to his house and to just call there if there was anything he needed.
When the brunette walked in, it wasn’t the bulky cast wrapped around the length of his arm, the bag of blood draining into his other arm, the bruises and cuts marring his face, or the paleness of his skin that alarmed him. It was the completely dead look in his eyes. Zoe didn’t even look

“That’s right around when Sophia’s next surgery will be...” Andrea muttered, sighing softly. Zoe had come over, well actually Zoe, Deandre, and Annie did. Deandre was with Nealson in the other room and by some miracle Zoe managed to get Annie off of him to be able to talk privately with Andrea. It was a good thing Annie liked babies so much, being able to hold Sophia was really what got her to let go of Zoe.
And just now Zoe was asking if Andrea could be there when he had the twins. Of course he definitely was going to have Deandre, too but... He just would feel better with Andrea th

It felt like forever. But she was finally there with them. Alive and loved. By that time, Andrea and Nealson moved back upstairs- Andrea not having anymore troubles with his legs after giving birth and getting all of that weight off of him. Well... not all of it admittedly, but enough. He still definitely had work to do before he was back to his pre-pregnancy body. Though he wasn’t really planning on going back to the gym a lot. He and Nealson used to work out together quite a bit before but by now Andrea just sort of lost interest in it. He’ll keep eating just as healthy as he always has and t

So... Cleaning out the room wasn’t an issue at all. A lot of things were thrown out but, while Nealson probably wouldn’t say this to Andrea, but he did set aside a box that had a few certain things in it that held some memories... That Nealson really didn’t want to let go of. He just threw it up in the attic. But now came the real issue... He had no clue how to set up most of these things. Last time Andrea was able to help with it... but that wasn’t going to happen now. They didn’t really want to just reuse all of Nathaniel’s things. Once he grew out of them they were going

That day, Deandre planned out quite a few things. While it was the middle of fall and getting pretty cold, he figured walking down and just spending time at the end of the pier, watching the sunset with some coffee for himself and hot chocolate for Zoe- the teen having been on a chocolate kick lately, also very tired of decaf coffee -would be nice. They had went out earlier, doing some shopping- they kept away from baby things for now, since that was part of what was stressing Zoe out so much -but they did get some household things so that their new house wouldn’t feel so... empty with the small and sca

Andrea didn’t usually get nightmares like this anymore. He hasn’t for... years. He tried his best not to wake Nealson up as he carefully got up- feeling weak and tired. He made sure that Nathaniel was alright in his crib before he made his way out to the kitchen to just try and clear his head.
It was about his mother, mostly. Bits and pieces of growing up with her. The pills and needles just laying around, yelling back and forth about her addiction- accusing her of not loving him and his sister, when he was kicked out when he was 15, kicked out to run straight to James... It wasn’t like he was

Nealson hasn’t spent this much time in a hospital with Andrea since he was still dating James. It wasn’t really a time that Nealson liked thinking about, but sitting here next to the hospital bed that Andrea was laying in really reminded him of it.
When he got the text, he was out the door in a second. Nealson didn’t care what his parents or older siblings said. About how he should just stop doing things for Andrea and stop hanging out with him. That he was just trouble, that all he wanted was Nealson’s money. That the whole victim thing was an act.
As he pulled up in his bright red c

It felt empty and the space was oddly suffocating. For two people and a dog... It was huge. He could manage being at Andrea and Nealson’s- most of the time at least one of them was there, and if he wanted to he could just hide out in his room. But his and Deandre’s room was far too big, too. Huge and open and... terrifying. Way too much open space. For a kid who always used to hide in the smallest space he could get himself into... Zoe felt like he was having a panic attack sitting here.
The blonde didn’t actually say anything about it. Deandre’s old house only had two rooms. And the s

A few more weeks passed. Andrea’s stomach got a rounded look to it, but it wasn’t very noticeable yet. However, with the baby starting to grow and press on his spine, Andrea’s legs were getting weaker. Dr. Halle told him that he should get another appointment soon with the doctor that handled his spinal cord injury to see if it would be safe for him to continue the pregnancy. Though Andrea wasn’t sure if he really cared about what was safe or not. Even if he ended up not being able to walk again... He wanted this baby.
Still, Andrea insisted he’d be fine at home with Nathaniel- who

When Andrea’s 8 week ultrasound came up, Deandre and Zoe agreed to babysit again and luckily they didn’t really ask why. Anyways, any excuse Deandre could come up with to visit Nathaniel he’d take. Zoe never seemed as excited and would never admit it but he actually really enjoyed spending time with Nathaniel. It didn’t mean that he wanted kids, though. Babysitting once in awhile was much different than being a full-time parent and he didn’t want the responsibility.
And at this moment, Zoe was just getting done changing Nathaniel and snapping the buttons on his little onesie back

Two weeks later was when the semester started. They still hadn't decided on a house- none of the others had the appeal that either the large 5 bedroom or small fixer-upper did to them. That's the part they were still stuck on. For some reason, Deandre really wanted that big house. Zoe couldn't see what was so special about it. Sure, 3 bathrooms were awesome. It had a nice beach-space and was ready to move in whenever... But... They didn't need 5 rooms. It was unnecessary. And they could pretty much do whatever they wanted to the small one without first ripping out everything.
He wouldn't mind getting his hands

Pregnant. He was... Pregnant...
Something that he didn't think- wasn't suppose to be -possible. He had a test done a while ago saying that he couldn't carry children. Crushing one of his biggest dreams and leaving him empty and jealous. He never thought that hearing that he was pregnant would put a knot of uncertainty and fear in him. But with the current situation...
His body hadn't been built to carry children. Despite his organs shifting and hip bones widening slightly over the past few months- which was what they'd determined those little bursts of weakness to be -he wasn't originally made to have children

It wasn't until nearly noon the next day that Zoe delivered Nathaniel. When he said he had to push, Deandre sent a text to Nealson while he tracked down a nurse to get the doctor there. Nealson was down before the doctor came into the room. They tried to do whatever they could to help, but there wasn't anything besides staying out of the way and holding Zoe's hands that they could do.
It was hectic and the nurses seemed to be more of a burden than help. The doctor was good. Dr. Madison. She was kind and calm and talked Zoe through it in a similar way that Deandre could imagine that Andrea would. Everything after

"W-what...?" Deandre couldn't help but ask breathlessly.
"I've been having contractions for a while... They're not stopping," the blonde said. "I haven't timed them... but they've been going on for a few hours," the teen told him, walking from the doorway leading to the hallway where his room, the bathroom, and the door to the backyard was, over to the couch. He hadn't said anything earlier because Andrea told him that stress could bring on fake contractions and he didn't want to worry Deandre any more than he'd already obviously was.
"Oh..." the brunette muttered. "Right um... I guess... er..."
Zoe wasn't muc

The redhead couldn't help but smile a little bit as he pulled the dark red sweatshirt out of the box of old clothes. Right... He forgot that they even still had it- had any of Andrea's old clothes. When they moved they just sort of tossed it all into one of the extra rooms and forgot all about it. Now that he was cleaning it out... A lot of memories were coming back. And he distinctly remembered the first time he met Andrea- he was wearing this.
It was that old beat up dark red sweatshirt that Andrea absolutely swam in that first caught Nealson's eye and the first hint that som

For some reason, Andrea and Nealson had insisted that Zoe come with them when they went shopping for the baby. The teen following along and shrugging at almost everything they suggested. Zoe didn't want to be there. Anyway, it wasn't his baby. Okay, maybe he was genetically Zoe's and he was carrying him but... Nealson and Andrea would be his parents and raise him and Zoe couldn't understand their want for him to be in the baby's life so much. Zoe didn't like it. He was already too attached to the thing.
With that and the knowledge that Deandre wanted him to move in with him after he had the baby... well... he real

Dragon Rain 1: Scaly JohnI have always been different ever since I was born. I was not really loved by my mother and my father was never around. My mother usually went out with a lot of men and tried various times to get rid of me. I wasn't quite sure if it was because she didn't' love me or just thought that I would be better in a different family arrangement. Either way, she wasn't very secretive about not wanting me in her life. See, I am not only human but also half dragon. My mother was pretty promiscuous and so she had sex with a lot of men and got pregnant with me on a stormy night with some dragon guy. It was another lazy morning when Nealson didn't have work and they just laid there with each other, neither of them willing to get up. So instead they did what they always did, just kissing and talking.
"So... you said the baby's a boy?" Nealson muttered, lips still pressed against Andrea's jaw and continuing to press lazy kisses to Andrea's neck and face.
"Yeah," Andrea smiled. "I was sort of hoping for a boy, actually," he chuckled softly.
"Oh? I sort of wanted a girl," Nealson shrugged. "But... a healthy baby is enough of a miracle for me, no matter the gender."

When Nealson woke up in the morning, he didn't feel like moving at all. It was just too perfect. After nearly three months of waking up alone in bed it was more comforting than annoying to feel that his arm had fallen asleep under Andrea's weight. He just couldn't care. Not when Andrea was still all cuddled up against him, fitted comfortably to him. And so he just laid there, taking his time to just look over Andrea.
The other male had become thinner in the hospital, his once defined and muscled body softened and thinned out. Well he was sure once Andrea was able to he'd be going back to the gym to fix that. For no

Upon first waking, he felt incredibly groggy and it took him a good several seconds to even realize he wasn't at home. His eyes shot open wide when that realization finally settled in. "N-Neal?" he tripped over his husband's name, looking around and struggling to try and sit up. His legs felt heavy and numb. It wasn't until he felt a soft but firm hand on his chest and gentle 'shush'ing by a familiar voice that he settled down and turned his head so he could look at Nealson.
"It's okay," the redhead continued to whisper at his husband's confused and scared look. He scooted his chair closer and leaned down to give And
