childlike as you go.
I know you know I see you
where ever you may go.
Don’t throw me off with cuteness
or simply look and stare.
I’ll feed you once,
but not for brunch.
“Stop it! There’s no food in there!”
You look inside the cabinet.
You look outside the hall.
You ponder simply
“Meow, meow, meow?”
And then you simply fall.
Caught by cute expression
I bend and pet your tummy.
Delighted is my hand.
Delighted is your belly.
You purr and purr for hours.
I forget time has passed.
And than I feed you dinner.
Quite simply, at last.

‘Take my words and write me a song,
A song that will thrive an eon long,
And when that eon’s fashion be gone
Write me a song once more’
The words of a selfish young prince were these,
As horrid a man as he had to be
As bloodthirsty a man as whose rivals did flee,
As cruel as he was, but no more
Prince regent, once king, was this young boy
Surname of Corral, first of Troy
The subject, once, of a murderous ploy
Now he finds himself Prince Troy no more
‘Despite all the rumours so widely spread,
About the protection placed on my head,
I know for a truth that I’ll soon be dead,
So write me a song in four’

Kendra Shepard watched Captain Anderson pace down the line of enlisted men and women that made up the Normandy's new crew. His voice, as age-lined as his face, clamped down on the requisite welcome-to-the-ship-now-shape-up speech. His tone and careful mannerisms, along with his service record, gave him an air of command that reminded Shepard of her fatherkind, patient, and eternally unflappable, even when somebody's busted artery was spraying blood in his face and the front lines were getting closer and closer to his triage zone. His speech finished, Anderson stared down the ranks of servicemen assigned to the new ship.
A voice over the intercom interrupted the severity of his silence. "ETA to Eden Prime four hours, captain."
"Understood. Keep me posted."
"Aye aye. Enjoy training the Padawans." The comm clicked off.

Seem to need an answer to everything.
Even when there is something magical
That shouldn't be explained.
Like the stars
And the brilliance of the sun.
I hope there are more people like me
Who want to feel the beauty in things
Instead of see it.
Like the old saying goes:
Seeing isn't believing
Believing is seeing
I hope there are people who don't explain beauty.
People who enjoy it.
And when asked "why?"
Aren't afraid to smile and say
"Think about it."

Open the doors and windows and breathe in fresh air.
Let the sun shine down on my face.
I need to live again.

Important things are.
From money to marriage to love to hate to everything in between.
But we're just
Kids with paper crowns
Standing on thrones made of clouds
Little kids that
Tape up their ideas in little shoeboxes and sail them out to sea.
Little things like that don't matter.
Think people are gonna care how much you make in heaven?
Is there even one?
So why do you do this?
Belittle others, belittle yourself.
We're all just kids staying up past curfew hoping to not get caught, just putting in that extra minute on something we love.
Why distinguish? What's your game?
What's different? We're all the same.
So it's time you realise that
You in your
And me in my
We're not so different.
Just wrapped up with different paper.
But inside we're all dreamers.
Birds waiting to fly.

Some of us have just misplaced our wings
or forgotten that they lay warm against our backs.
Our halos sit crooked on the heads of monsters
because we pitied them and wanted to give them something
that would scare away the shadows they struggle with.
Always remember, we are all angels.
Even the monsters were once feathery.
Just give them a reason to clip their claws
and shake off the darkness they wear like a cloak.
You'll be surprised to find such a beautiful angel
hidden under all that filth.
