In Recognition of Exemplary Membership and an Outstanding Spirit of helpfulness and mentoring within the DeviantArt community.
It is such a sheer and profound honor being part of the DeviantArt Community. The love and encouragement that I've received over the years from fellow members and staff alike is truly humbling.
I cannot thank you all enough for the wonderful support that you've shown this Dubai based Pakistani bloke, and I hope and pray that you'll continue to graciously support me on this artistic/photographic journey with DeviantArt, which for me began in mid 2008, but it really took off in 2011 - the year I was bitten by the shutterbug and I decided to take up photography. I have never looked back since.
Hi, I'm Khuram Lawrence, a Dubai based photographer, and I'm a proud member of the largest Art community in the world. DeviantArt Rocks!

Storm clouds cover the sun and darken the skies. It is time for a time–out, a reminder of the insignificance of our troubles when set against the full fury of nature, a cleansing of the landscape’s abused palate, and maybe a light show to make up for any inconvenience.

Dies at 92
By BARNABY FEDER

Wilson Greatbatch, a professed “humble tinkerer” who, working in his barn in 1958,
designed the first practical implantable pacemaker, a device that has preserved millions of lives,
died on Tuesday at his home in Williamsville, N.Y. He was 92.
His death was confirmed by his daughter, Anne Maciariello.
Mr. Greatbatch patented more than 325 inventions,
notably a long-life lithium battery used in a wide range of medical implants.
He created tools used in AIDS research and a solar-powered canoe,
which he took on a 160-mile voyage on the Finger Lakes in New York to celebrate his 72nd birthday.

The year’s best naturally-occurring light show, the Leonids meteor shower, is due overhead on the nights of November 15 - 20. The passing comet “Tempel-Tuttle” leaves a debris field of meteoroid particles in its wake each year that the Earth will spin through on those nights. Larger “Leonids,” about 10 mm across, have a mass of half a gram and are known for their brightness. The Leonid shower may deposit 13 tons of particles across our planet. The Leonid meteor storm of 1833 may have been the biggest, brightest ever, producing an estimated 240,000 meteoroids entering our atmosphere over 9 hours. Both Nati

There’s something about the brilliant colors of the dying leaves of autumn that reflects the wonders and the sorrows of life. It’s as if by waking up each morning into this beautiful world of natural colors, we are being given our bittersweet reward for surviving another year on the planet. We are regaled with a brief seasonal ceremony of the turning of the leaves, nature’s gift for our eyes as a promise she will soon return after her yearly rest. And then it’s time to let winter’s grey pallor unfold over us in blankets of dark cold rain and bright brisk snows; we sleep, the autumn’s leaves having promised

Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci couldn’t stand each other

-After the 100 year war, Aang found a new colony of Sky Bison along with a new breed of Flying Lemurs with striped tails in the Nortern or Eastern Air Temple. (forgot which one o3o) Aang kind of took them or adopted them and brought them to thier home and gave the baby ones to Tenzin, Kya, And Bumi when they were old enough to take care of them.(:
And in a mini series of books(There's 1.The Promise, and 2.The Search), it takes place after the war and a year after when Zuko was crowned Fire Lord. The Promise : Chapter 1 is about Zuko having trouble taking full responsibility of the throne and is getting back to his mean, short tempered, old ways. Zuko tells Aang to promise him if he becomes like his father(Ozai), Aang has to kill him. Aang has no choice but to respect his wishes and Katara pushes him to keep the promise even in doubt. In chapter 2 of the Promise, Sokka helps Toph with her Metalbending school while in the Fire Nation, Zuko goes to the prison where Ozai is

Photographs and paintings of stars occupy that category of things you know are so, and yet it’s not quite possible to believe. One example is radio or television “signals” traveling in “waves” through the air, only to be reassembled for your listening or viewing pleasure in your living room radio or TV. Looking at clusters of stars lighting up the night sky like massive storm clouds, it’s impossible to think of those stars, those points of light, as separate massive burning suns, even though I know it’s so. Sometimes the most powerful magic requires no deception at all. The natural universe is more mystifying in its sheer

So don't give up hope guys. Whether you're 10, 15, 20, or older, as long as you keep at it, you WILL improve. Look at anatomy books and proper reference, that's something I wish I did more of when I was little. But you guys have SO many resources now! And computer programs galore. I really didn't have the internet at all for 1/5th of my artistic life, and then another 1/5th I just stopped drawing because I gave up. So take use of those resources, look at tutorials on Deviantart, and keep practicing. And mimicry is okay. Just try and branch out and create your own individual style once you get the hang of things!
Good luck everyone I still have a long way to go, too.

In the beginning of the episode we have Tarrlok creepily bloodbending Korra down the stairs to some shady basement into a metal box. He effin locks her in there... and drives away. YOU HORRIBLE MAN.
Then we're at Tenzin's house.... OMG. SO FREAKING ADORABLE LOLOL. We see Pema and Tenzin sleeping together... and Meelo in the middle. The phone rings and he literally crawls over Tenzin's face to answer it. LOL. "Who is this? It's 6 in the morning. It better be important." OH GOODNESS MEELO YOU ADORABLE LITTLE CREATURE. Then Tenzin finds out Korra's been kidnapped.

New Yorkers have maintained their love-hate relationship with the subway system for over a hundred years.
The first pneumatic subway train in NYC ran on Feb. 26, 1887. The subway defines everything good and everything bad about life in the city. What could be more stimulating and life-affirming than hopping on an early morning freshly cleaned and de-graffitied subway car, packed w

New Orleans, the Comeback Kid
Vibrant, raucous and, more than any other metropolis in America—truly alive! New Orleans is the one city in America that nobody believed would not stage a comeback after Katrina tried her best to kill its Big Noise. New Orleans is protected by Jesus or hoodoo or both—it’s all one glorious mixed–up gumbo goulash of cultures believing in live and let live.
Most cities in America are mostly alike in most everything. New Orleans is the exception. It is unique. It has had a separate evolution and it’s the most arts–based cultural treasure in our nation. The city i

THE ESSENCE OF THE GNOSTICSGreetings my friends,THE ESSENCE OF THE GNOSTICS2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Tonight begins a three part series on Gnosticism and just who and what the Gnostics are. Tonight I want to talk about the cosmology of the Gnostics, and how that has evolved into the modern day Gnostic worshipers. Next Sunday I will talk more about the three men who set forth the laws and rules that govern Gnostic sects all over the world (Mani, Marcion, and Valentinus.) In week three I will discuss the Nag Hamadi library, and how it has forged a rebirth of Gnostic thinking. Finally, in week four, I will discuss modern day Gnosticism and how worshipers apply it to their everyday lives.
Let me start off by letting you know that I am Gnostic by faith, and have been so for almost 30 years. I meet with a handful of friends who are fellow Gnostics, and we discuss our faith, what we have learned from it, and share ideas for reaching the ultimate goal of finding Gnosis. Though there are some Gnostic churches across the globe, congregational worship is not desirabl

Cracked Eggs: The Battle For Breakfast is Fought With Ads
So a funny thing happened on the way to breakfast.
Early risers looking to get a quick, cheap breakfast on the go have, for a long time, favored one option: McDonald’s. The fast food giant’s breakfast is what you might call the stuff of legends. Scientists working for McDonald’s figured out how to put the taste of syrup into a muffin, and how to perfectly replicate the fried
