American Revolution through England's EyesAmerican Revolution through England's Eyes3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Guns being shot at other soldiers
I'm in the back, hiding in terror
Across the battlefield is where you stand
Up in front, proud of what's happening
I think back to the day I found you in that field.
You were holding a small bunny
I asked you if you would come home with me
You smiled brightly and took my hand
My daydreams are cut short when you point your gun at me
A sharp pain goes through my shoulder
You walk up to me as I'm on the ground, crying from pain
"What happened, England? I remember when you were great."
Those words hurt me more than the actual bullet wound
I'd shoot at you but I can't
"Why?" I cry to you. "Damn it, why America!"
"You know why." You walk away and leave me there in pain.
"I protected you!" I yell after you before being hit in the head with a gun by one of your soldiers.
Now, I just wish I didn't black out after that.
I might have actually won if I didn't.
