Every now and then, she wheezed through her nose, then coughed, only to partially wake, moan, and shift slightly until the sound in her nose ceased. Then, half a minute later, she would breathe hard again, attempting to clear the substance in her nose. Garrus hurriedly put his tunic on, cursing himself for believing the allergic reaction his DNA caused to humans would not happen to them. She was slowly twisting in the sheets to put her feet on the floor and turn on the bedside lamp. Only when the soft light pierced the darkness did she notice his dressing.
