This is, I think, one of my most beautiful masks and a design I'm quite proud of. Full of motion, color and energy. Inspired by my beautiful crown tail betta (who has since joined the Choir Invisible...he's an ex-betta), this is an original piece of wearable art depicting two fighting fish swirling in battle.
This mask is intricately carved and tooled, and then hand-shaped from one piece of 8oz leather. It is painted with colorfast Liquitex acrylics in metallic bronze, copper, and various shades of gold, with the carving accented by a rich brown antiquing stain.
Available (until it is gone!) only at my online shop...just follow this link: [link]
With all the raptor wings I've been making, I wanted to do a songbird...and blue jays have such brilliant wings!
Like my other leather wing pendants, this is about 3.5 inches at its widest, and is two layers - the bottom layer is 7-oz and the top layer (upper layer of feathers) is 3-oz leather. It's hand carved and painted with acrylics. The chain is sterling silver, and it's adorned with a brilliant blue glass bead. This pendant sits high on the neck (not a choker, but the wingtips touch about the collarbone).
If interested, it's available in my Etsy shop - [link]
