So my buddy has been going through some stressful things, and to show her I care I drew her a thing! I even sorta came up with a tiny back-story for our girls.
Gubbins: (on left) Since "Gubbins" literally means "miscellany", Gubbins the Robot is appropriately made up of mismatched parts. The backwards apron around her waist may hint that she was created with the intention of being a worker bot (this would also explain the goggles and mechanic glove), but her parts weren't quite in sync. Her insides are made up of gears and springs which need to be tightened in order for her to remain operational. The steam escaping her back may hint that she often malfunctions, and the pocketwatch in her vest is probably there to remind her when she needs to be 're-wound'. Her outfit dates her to about 1880-1910.
Pixel: (on right) She's a more modern robot, more along the lines of Cyborg. With her dainty little shoes and aesthetic appearance, she was most likely made with the intention of acting as an entertainer. Unlike her steam-powered comrade, Pixel is fit with a complex computer system, the core of which is located in her chest. The blue glow emanating from her eyes and her 'heart' are present when she is in full operational order, but turn dark if she is 'out of order'. She has a computerized voice-box and general comprehension skills, but like all robots, still lacks the full understanding of what it is to be alive. She is unsure of why she's been fitted with tiny mechanical wings, as they don't seem to get her anywhere.
