It feels like forever since the last time I painted. I had so much fun painting this one in one day to the point where I want to paint another one as soon as possible. This is my entry for Tomb Raider Reborn Contest. You never know what happens unless you go for it.
So this is my entry for an official Tomb Raider contest.
I had huge plans for an entry since day one when they announced the contest. Buuut, being really busy with exams and then getting really sick, I had absolutely no time to work on an entry and now that there's a week left it's not enough because I'm busy with university - again. So I had no other choice but to use an old drawing and upstyle it a little bit This was drawn completely traditionally with pencils and then I added the colors in Photoshop.
I don't think I stand any chance whatsoever compared to those bunches of masterful entries that have already been submitted (and more is to come), but I would hate myself for the rest of my life if I had missed the opportunity to at least participate. This is my tribute more than a hope to win anything It's important to participate
No stocks used, the reference is my own.
This is the original drawing in black and white:
Hope you like it
I don't know if it matters that the preview image is not at least 3000px in the shortest length, but there's a download button with a full size which fulfills the requirements for the contest. Unfortunately it looks really messy since it's a scan of a very cross-hatched drawing
There it is! Fiiiinally! I've been working on this ever since the contest was announced. A sculpture of Lara Croft being attacked by a wolf, ONE of the most memorable scenes of the game, for me at least. Entirely handmade using polymer clay and apoxie sculpt. Also used some turf and bushes for the base, from woodland scenics. Lara measures 7 inches long and the wolf 8 inches. Oh, I've had a hard time taking good pictures T_T sorry about that!
Lara is my first full human sculpture I've ever done and I'm glad with how she turned out! Wish I had more time to work on this piece though but it's okay, I'll probably be doing more tomb raider sculptures in the future anyway! This project made me want to sculpt more characters!
Also, I've finished the game yesterday....And I CANNOT believe how awesome it is... I can't believe tomb raider has come this far! I'm so proud to be a fan! Outstanding job Crystal Dynamics, thank you for giving us this amazing game!
