Here's some more storyboards i boarded of as staff at STUDIO MIR in Korea in 2010, EPISODE 10: "TURNING THE TIDES" I believe this bit is from ACT 3 where Amon and the Equalists attack Air Temple Island.
Here, Lin attempts to defend the last Air Benders from the Lieutenant and The Equalists as Pema is about to give birth to Rohan. What many of you who've seen this episode notices is that this is the first version before final edits. So you will see sequences here that were cut in the final aired on TV for running time or other reasons.
BLACK DYNAMITE: "Get Him To The Sunset Strip!" STORYBOARDS. Heres a snippet of storyboards i knocked out real quick while Producing/Directing at DONG WOO ANIMATION in Seoul last year for the COLD OPEN for the popular Richard Pryor Episode, featuring DONALD THE ACCOUNTANT. SOOOOYYIIIII!!!
Here’s another section of rough storyboards i boarded for Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Korra. in 2010 as staff at STUDIO MIR in Seoul, South Korea. Here, Korra learns first hand that she can’t just force her way through things. Director Ryu Kihyun added MIlo’s infamous “noodle arms” to the final vers of this sequence.
Here's some of the rough boards from my ACT 3 section i boarded of as staff at STUDIO MIR in Korea in 2010, EPISODE 10: "TURNING THE TIDES" that premiered Saturday.
This sequence is one of the many highlights in this episode that i had to tackle & most dramatic sequences in a pretty intense ACT 3 where Amon and the Equalists attack Air Temple Island.
Here, Lin single-handedly destroys an equalist airship in her mother Toph BeiFong's fashion. It's a moving moment as it's her making a drastic decision to risk her life and inevitably, her bending to allow the last air benders to get away. Lin Beifong is my favorite character of the show. It was heartbreaking to read the script knowing i had to storyboard her end with Amon. I listened to the main theme of SWORD OF THE STRANGER boarding this sequence to help with the epicness.
I'm happy Bryke, Ryu and Joaquim trusted me to scribble out such a pivotal moment in this series and with their help & the animators stayed closely faithful to the sequence i roughed out under a rushed and tight deadline. GO MIR!!!! GO NICK!!!
