Happy Birthday JRR Tolkien
I've really been delving into Tolkien's immense mythology lately and I've been surprising even myself how much of these tales have soaked into my thought that I can recall details of stories I haven't read in years.
Thank you for carrying me along with the magic of your secondary creation.

Last bit of Thorin Majestic Oakenshield before 2013. I can't believe we have to wait another 300+ days before the next film, what ever am I going to do?!

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

My portrait of J.R.R. Tolkien, based on several different photographs found on the Internet. Several major themes found in his writing can be seen conjured up in his pipe smoke: the Tree, the Dragon, the Horse, Gandalf, Gollum, the Broken Sword, the Mountains, Mordor, a Hobbit, and the Fields of Rohan. The smoke forms a Ring and the Eye of Sauron is in the center, coming from the dragon's mouth.

Well well :3
I had this is mind the whole weekend, until my bf told me "draw it then" xD
This is an inspired Tolkien tattoo, not to all of his works of course, just to the saga that includes The Silmarillion, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
In the digital paint I put Smaug (The Hobbit) as reperesented on Thorin's map, the three Silmaril (The Silmarillion), and the writings on the One Ring (The Lord of the Rings); plus, in the end, I added the singnature of the great J.R.R.Tolkien :3
One day I'll totally tattoo this on myself, at least when I'll have money to do so xD

What can you see on the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea, a pale moon rises, The ships have come to carry you home.
During the Fourth Age, it was one of the last Elven havens as the remaining Elves of Rivendell and Lothlórien left Middle-earth. In the beginning of the first century, Fourth Age, it experienced a population growth as migrants from the east came to Mithlond. Not all Elves left Middle-earth immediately, many of the migrants made long-term temporary settlements.

Aside from Elves, Gandalf, Bilbo Baggins and Frodo Baggins also went to Valinor from the Grey Havens, and a family tradition held that Samwise Gamgee, having been himself a Ring-bearer, albeit briefly, did likewise, in the year 1482 of the Shire Reckoning, Fourth Age 61. It was also told in the Red Book of Westmarch, that after Aragorn's death Legolas built a grey ship and left Middle-earth to go to Valinor, and that Gimli went with him.
