I decided to draw him in Nlaka'pamux clothing- one of the tribes that passed his stories down the most. I chose mainly winter regalia, in order to keep his fur. His hair isn't sleek and long and braided, since I wanted him to have coyote-like hair.
I haven't drawn him in the longest time because his first design didn't have enough heritage or too much research behind it. It took a long time, but I've given my first starling a complete overhaul.
For those who don't know,I used to have a webcomic called Tales of Tricksters, which was basically where I would take myths, do a lot of research, and make the transition. The work began in 2010, and now that I look back on it, it wasn't TERRIBLE, but it could have been a lot better. As a result, I stopped drawing Coyote, the star of the first two myths, all together. but he's back now, so you can be happy.
IF I GOT ANYTHING WRONG, PLEASE INFORM ME. Good reference for Native clothing is so hard to come by...
