I'm in the RainI Am In the RainI'm in the Rain3 years ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
The rumble in the skies,
Purring deep in heavens chest,
The flicker of hidden light,
Exploding from it's breast.
It seems so far away,
But closer it's slowly drifting,
Brought on tithes and torrents,
The humidity is lifting
Impulsively the clouds are writhing,
In passions unrequited,
Churning greys and mottled blues,
Seeking to be delighted.
A world below seeks shelter,
From this manic force above,
As it begins to weep in bitterness,
As it longs for love.
Tears revive the grass,
Dry from from scorching sun,
It nurtures a world it cannot touch,
Forever on the run.
Yet it splits the sky in anger,
Lashing out with fractured light,
Agony echoes from it's maw,
On it's lofty height.
A tempest of contradiction,
Maternal and full of care,
Yet terrified to the point of breaking,
Apart it's fragile lair.
So accept the gentle caress,
Of rain as it flies asunder,
Embrace the beauty and the clash,
Go on and kiss the thunder.
