Number four in Birgit's sequence. The illness invades Birgit. The complete sequence consists of eight illustrations. Blue irises are more and more suffocating along the series.

I used this beautiful photo for the hands, while the rest of the body is practically invented.. surely the proportions are not exact, but hope you like it anyway..

Cover for “Little Red”.
This is the cover for my just published picture book, “Little Red”.
It’s the only illustration no belonging to one of the three sequences of the book.
The technique is acrylics. It’s been a little hard for me getting comfortable with acrylics since I love oils and watercolors, but they have their own strenghts and I’m glad to have used them for this book.

This was painted last year on some boards at the sand sea spray paint event. Pretty big, measures about 8x16 Feet. It's liberating painting BIG, wish I could do it more. Just haven't got enough time and space.
