A few friends in the past wanted to know how I draw my anatomy. I've finally found the time for some sketches, which I'm starting with my short-built female characters. Female Deku Scrubs and Mobians are characters I use the same anatomy method on since their bodies are similar for me. I just used Iris because she's the easiest for me to draw of my short girl characters when it comes to details.
For a long time, drawing women was a task for me. It was mostly the figure and breasts that gave me trouble. I used to go the hard way and free hand everything without guidelines (including slapping clothes right on the character without drawing out how I wanted the body to be posed, which made it look awkward...), it made my anatomy look wonky. I've studied a book about Comic Book Character Anatomy, which gave great guidelines for female anatomy. The image above shows what a lot of my work starts out looking like. I usually draw all characters flat chested then start shaping the form as I progress.
I've realized of both male and female characters, my females have advanced the most since I first started out. At the very beginning, Jace and Iris looked exactly the same in the body XD though, it got boring for me, and it was hard to pose a short, cartoony, pudgy body in scenes and animations, so I felt my character's needed more flexibility.
I'll try doing the males next. There's at least two different versions of ways I draw males and females. The way I draw my Weremobian Normal Forms is closer to a realistic look than normal Mobians and Deku
My procrastination problem and the holes in my paintings...
I think that all those holes in my paintings may represent all the little things ''of no consequence'' (that I thought!) in my life - that I should have settled already long ago... Each individual hole was unlikely to have any repercussions on the painting - but altogether, it is way too much!
