Chapter 4 'Prince Who?'"DERYN!!!!! DERYN!!!!!" Alek's voice rang out in the near silence. His body felt like it had been stepped on by the Stormwalker. Somewhere amidst their decent, he and Deryn had gotten separated, and he had no idea where she was.Chapter 4 'Prince Who?'4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Alek could barely move himself, his legs felt like they were broken, but he tried to ignore it, standing weakly to search for her. He had held on for dear life but....
His head was spinning, the ground a mix of colors and directions. He wasn't sure where he as at all. It was dark, the only light coming from the moon and the lanterns from somewhere up ahead.
He had heard it hit the water, the crunch of wood and screech of men and creatures alike. He wanted to go help them, to find Volger and Klopp and see if they had made it out alive. But he couldn't.
In a way the scenario was perfect. Everyone would think he and Deryn were dead, and his whereabouts would remain a secret forever. But he would give himself up right now if it meant saving the lives that were most

Deryn sprinted down the corridor, grabbing the gut hatch and peeked out about what the commotion was. What she saw totally blew her mind.
"Barking spiders," Deryn mumbled in awe as she saw a clanker machine swoop overhead and shoot a row of bullets into the whale's spine. Deryn dropped down the hatch as the aeroplane zoomed overhead almost beheading her.
"Barking persistent are they! Once on the glacier and now on the border of China? What are the clankers now; watchdogs?" Deryn exclaimed, checking first to see if the aeroplane was gone, then pulling herself out onto the spine. She whistled with the scene that met her eyes; there were huge masses of dead bodies strewn all over the Leviathan, both beastie and human. The sight brought tears to Deryn's eyes to see the airship so helpless with the clankers swooping again and again destroying more and more of it each time.
"Bum-rags!" Deryn shouted at them tears spring
Staying Up Late (SasuNaru)"Naruto... What are you doing sleeping out here?" The pale brunette smiled to himself as he quietly toed his shoes off at the door, dropping his briefcase as quietly as he could just next to them. After shedding his crisp, if in need of a wash, overcoat and hanging it on the peg, he stepped up from the foyer onto the raised floor of the open-plan den.Staying Up Late (SasuNaru)10 months ago in General Fiction More Like This
Naruto lay fast asleep on the couch, blankets wrapped around him at odd angles, an arm slung over his eyes presumably to block out the late-evening sun, though by now the star was well below the horizon. His breathing was deep and even, and even though one leg was propped up, foot digging into the couch cushions, he looked as though he had been asleep for hours.
The blonde must have stayed up to see him after work, Sasuke mused to himself, undoing his tie as he watched his live-in boyfriend sleep. Which was foolish. Damn kid, he was going to run himself into the ground. Naruto had been studying for finals all week for two of the fou

Rainbows Can Be Lonely Too
By: DolphinBuster starring: Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy
I held in a growl watching Fluttershy panic in fear as she tried another loop. That pegasus is such a scaredy pony. It had been just about the same thing for the past hour or so. I'd demonstrate the trick Fluttershy would try, she'd panic, fall down, and whimper how sorry she was for failing. She's a pony that you can't seem to stay mad at, but she could be really aggravating at times, though.
Seriously though, I shouldn't be complaining. I was the one that had taken a day off weather duty to spend some time with Fluttershy and teach her a trick or two. But all she seemed to learn so far was a half loop, and how to fall without breaking anything.
Fluttershy sat on the ground, shaking her mane to cover her face. She was obviously embarrassed.
"Its okay, Fluttershy. You put in a great effort. It just takes practice." I had to hold back a choke at grea

The young boy stared up at that deep blue sky, piecing things together slowly in his mind. He had gone to bed the night before, wondering just how much longer he could handle being alone. Hadn’t he? Of course he had… He had climbed out of his dirty clothes, not bothering to put them into the hamper… He had slinked right under his covers too.
It had been a rough day, full of misery and hateful words from the villagers all around him. So many people were still unwilling to accept him as a shinobi of the village, so many people still frightened of the boy with the demon fox in his core. He had actually been chased away from a store front this time, something that hadn’t happened in quite some time.
People were probably afraid of his being a fully instated shinobi now, he had thought dully. Now that he

A Family Christmas (Kakashi and Co.)Kakashi sighed heavily, eyes scanning the stacks of paperwork that still needed finishing, letters from foreign nations that needed reading, the missions and squads that needed attending. He had always known that being Hokage would be busywork, and was well aware of it when Tsunade offered him the job shortly before she retired. But he had been hoping he would at least have the holidays to himself.A Family Christmas (Kakashi and Co.)8 months ago in General Fiction More Like This
But that was a fool's dream and he knew it. He had been hoping for time alone with his old family's graves, and time spent with the young adults he had grown to love and consider his new family. But dereliction of duty had never been his manner. And so, he trudged to his desk, sat in that stiff, high backed leather chair with its cracks and its creaks from many years of use, and began to work.
It was hours later when a knock sounded on his door. He issued a curt "Enter," never looking up from his Christmas Day papers. The door creaked open quietly and he didn't hear the footsteps until...
On Our Sleeves (KakaSasu)Kakashi Hatake couldn't remember exactly how he had been conned into teaching at high school level. It might have been something about the University funding being cut down for the dozenth time, requiring the mass-sacking of its staff; himself included. And then the car payments and mortgage, oh and the bills just kept arriving at his doorstep, because that shit doesn't know what a pause button is, and before he knew it Kakashi was taking the first job offered to him, all to prevent some dead-shit removalist from taking his TV and sofa at 1 AM.On Our Sleeves (KakaSasu)1 year ago in General Fiction More Like This

Too many times had he knocked you down. Sure, it was just training, but it felt as true as any defeat every time. All it took for him to catch you off guard and throw you to the foot-trodden dirt and packed earth was a swift kick, or a charge, or the swipe of a clenched and well-aimed fist. It would connect, or you would dodge improperly, and you would go flying from the force. Or, worse, you would land heavily just in front of him, wind knocked from your lungs and tears pricking your eyes.

Your Guardian Angel (Naruto x Reader)The smell was more than enticing; it was mouthwateringly delicious. The powerful aroma of brewing soup and stewing vegetables wafted lazily through the air, curling about the potential patrons like a self serving and inviting cat. It slinked along, hugging curves and corners, ducking down alleyways, drawing people in. Then, just afterward and following closely on its skittering heels, came the slightly sweet and barely salty scent of freshly cooking noodles. It was sultry and starchy and just perfect. Pair all of it with light and flaky fish, grilling chicken and roasting pork and the veritable cacophony of delicious smells was enough to drop even the most distinguished of palates to their proverbial knees.Your Guardian Angel (Naruto x Reader)1 year ago in General Fiction More Like This

But the blond instantly grabbed onto Sasuke's forearms and pulled him forward once more, shaking his head minutely. "No I want this," he said firmly, forcefully even. "I know I want this I just
White Noise (NaruSasu)The rain was soft and subtle, slipping almost serenely onto the ground, encompassing everything in a gentle white noise, softening the edges around harsh realities. The clouds hung over the night peacefully. Nothing was dreary, nothing aided the young man’s sullen mood, nothing gave him an excuse to be so downcast. He couldn’t blame his disposition on the weather any more than the stars. He couldn’t even blame the lover he had come to visit, gone from this world and yet just beneath his feet.
He didn’t caress the tombstone his gaze lay limply against. He didn’t speak sweet words of reminiscence, or tell him stories of his day. He didn’t tell him how much he longed to be with the man, how many pieces his heart broke into wh

Deryn stood outside the door for what seemed like an hour knocking, talking softly to him to try and coax him out, but to no avail. He was not in the mood for anything but sitting and brooding.
Bum-rag, Deryn thought. While he was sitting in there, comfy as a bug in a rug, she was out here, desperatly trying to break the akward silence with Lilit. She had offered the girl water, food, rest, but she declined all, choosing to sit in the living quarters, Bovril on her lap.
The blasted creature had been all too elated to see her, running up and down her arm, spitting out random words in it's excitment. She stroked it gently, cooing to it in different languages, Bovril practically purring.
Deryn made herself a sandwish and sat on the chair farthest from Lilit, chewing quietly. The girl was much different than Deryn remebered, and she felt her cheeks get hot when she thought about they're last meeting. When she finished eating, she grabbed her sketch pad

Sasuke's hand lingered on the grave a moment more before he bowed his head in silent prayer, hands pressed together in front of his nose. The cold wind blowing at his back did not seem to bother him as he just as silently turned and walked away, not for the last time and certainly not for the first.

They will not stop! I want to hear my own thoughts; but they do not help.

Shut up! Shut the hell up! please take me away from my hell of a home and of my head.
I will give my ears a melody, and for three minuets and thirty one seconds I will be where I want to be and what I want to hear.
I want to stay here forever.., only that is how I wish it could be.

"I... I was busy and I didn't want to bother you later at night, un. I'm sorry," the blond replied, his eyes a downcast.
The redhead smiled and wrapped his arms around his servants waist. "It's fine, but would you like to sleep with me tonight?"
Deidara smiled and nodded. "Yes, I would," he said, a slight blush on his cheeks.
"Good," Sasori said, as he leaned down to kiss the blond lovingly. Deidara's face heated up even more and he wrapped his arms around his Danna's neck. Deidara was about to take it further, but Sasori pulled away.
"I don't want to get carried away," he said, brushing the back of his hand against the blond's flushed cheek. "Would you like to go to the orchard?" he asked, already wishing he hadn't.
Deidara's eyes went wide with fear and he shook his head. "N-no," he said, his voice shaky.
The redhead nodded and sighed. "I'm sorry, I forgo-"

"Have you any idea where we are?" the man asked, lacing his fingers together and reclining in his chair.
"Not a clue" Alek answered stiffly. "Though I gather its somewhere quite nice."
Volger nodded. "We are at the home of your granduncle, Franz Joseph."
Alek froze. "What do you mean? Why in God's name are we here?"
"He is dying." Volger said simply. "When the German's attacked the Leviathan, I claimed to have captured you, and they brought us here. I must say, he was quite pleased. He gave me this room to stay in as long as I like."

There was a light tap on the doorframe that for the most part went unnoticed as she craned her neck trying to see past the reflection. "Deryn, shouldn't you be in your bed?" An amused voice drifted from the doorway startling the child.
