This work of art, I decided to to after having read a very tragic story on love, loneliness and colorful racing automobiles on the internet. I first came across it In the DA group Nightmare Alley [link] . I read it and felt I simply had to make an illustration of some sort for it.
The story goes that a woman lived together with a man with whom she used to watch NASCAR races. The man, almost 70 years old, died one day. Instead of contacting authorities, the lady kept the dead body with her. She cleaned and clad it and kept on watching NASCAR races with it for one and a half year until the deceased man\'s family started looking for him and found out about the whole matter. The woman, interviewed by newspapers said that it was very hard for her to explain why she had done what she had. He was, she said about the man, the only guy who had ever been nice to her and that she understood she would go to jail for cashing the dead man's welfare checks after his death.
This is of course totally demented. But alas, at the same time I think it says something about what loneliness and lack of human relations can do to a person, and what it can make such a person do. We live in a quite fragmented society. Take care of each other!
Taken from Allied Archives reguarding 'The Brotherhood of Nod'
... In the latter part of the 30th century the once great cult of Nod had become a shadow of it's former self. Just 400 years ago the Brotherhood possesed high tech weapons, a complete control of the deadly and efficent resource known as Tiberium, and could never be traced. They were considered one of the few underdog Galatic powers. All this changed when the Allies came in, in 2896 President of the Prime Allies passed bill 14495, a strict no tolerence to Cult activites if it involved: Terrorism, Sacrifice, medical manipulation, torture etc, all of which the Brotherhood was known for. As time passed the Brotherhood of Nod weakened. Unable to match the Allies, although for a peroid they did enjoy having superior stealth feilds, this was soon nulified when the Allies captured their prototype Stealth Tank MK15.
Now the Brotherhood numbers are in the thousands, they are nothing compaired to their past glory. The Allies massive 'War on Terror' made the Cult dwindle. Currently Nod troops are equiped with handed down weapons and uniforms (most dating to the 26th century) They no longer possess an edge over the Allied Systems. Redment militia are equiped also with explosives under their body armor, in the event that they are going to be captured or in a desperate fight, they can suicide bomb Allied troops.
Exerpt from Admiral Skeybar reguarding Nod "Our forces have proven that Nod is almost completely dead, we expect to have them wiped out by the next decade..."
(Please give me some feedback reguarding the design and background I wrote, also goes really good with this song -> [link] )
