Spike the "Hero"
The Crystal Empire was slowly becoming engulfed in a mass of threatening, black clouds; dark as the deadliest of storms. Screams could be heard all around as the crystal ponies began to panic. Up in the tallest tower in the city, Twilight found herself trapped within the confines of a black-crystal prison, the gems risen up from the ground, blocking any means of escape for the lavender unicorn. Just outside, Spike started to feel nervous. His eyes darted from side to side, his feet moved up and down like two, small pistons.
Twilight started to scramble within the crystal-walled trap, looking for the Crystal Heart with a set of panicked eyes.
"The heart? Where's the Crystal..." she started, voice q

"HAY! Get up! Get up! What are you doing here?"
I groaned. Was I dead? Of course not, because I heard a voice, right? My eyes slowly opened. Something wasn't right. First off, there was no pain on my chest anymore. In fact, my whole body felt different.
"HAY!" I looked at the sound of the voice. It was, no, that couldn't be right. My eyes saw what looked like a small blue horse, with wings?
I tried to rub my eyes. As I brought my hands up to my eyes, I noticed they felt different. I couldn't feel my fingers. My eyes cleared, and I saw hooves?
I screamed, and fainted.
I woke up in a room.
I tried to get out of bed, but I couldn't move very well. That's when I realized my whole body was different. The first thing I saw was my nose and mouth, which had stretched out a little ways. My legs were bent forwards, about the same length and shape as my arms, which now had hoof like things instead of hands. My body was sleek, and furred with a light green tint. My clothes were all gon

CHAPTER 4: High Fliers
Orion and Bucky looked up into the deep blue sky in amazement as the last ripples of the rainbow shockwave slowly dissolved high above them, their vivid hues shimmering in a dazzling spectrum before their very eyes. Though both colts had grown up knowing very well what a sonic rainboom was, their familiarity with the great spectacle still never ceased to amaze them. Before the last waves of light finally faded into the azure atmosphere, one more echo of powerful thunder roared around them, as if announcing its departure. Even after the sky returned to normal, the two colts continued to stare upward with a sense of intrigued wonder.
"Was…that," Orion stammered, still in shock, "a sonic rainboom?"
"Yeah, but it was huge! Ah've never seen a one that powerful before!"
Looking at each other with wide grins, they raced past Rainbow Dash’s home and towards the far away woods to see what was happening. Though the phenomenon was nothing new to the ci

"GET OUT OF MY BUCKING WAY!"
On any other day, Twilight Sparkle would never have dared to shout so rudely at anypony, and she definitely would never, ever have used such coarse language. Today, however, wasn't any other day.
She couldn't remember how she had gotten to Canterlot, nor could she, for the life of her, feel any patience for the ponies in the crowded street. She needed to be at Canterlot General Hospital now, even if it meant barreling through every pony in Equestria. Luckily, most of the city's population knew her, either from her time as their Princess' personal student and protégé, or from the accolades she had received since then. Saving Equestria no less than three times doesn't exactly go unnoticed. Either way, the sight of the desperate, frantic, and somewhat well-

CHAPTER 7: Birthday Cake and Best Friends (First draft. Final version in the works)
Five more minutes until Orion's birthday party. Under normal circumstances, ponies would be expecting their guests to be fashionably late, but those ponies obviously never met the Pie family. Looking at the clock, Andromeda knew that the moment the large hand hit the "12," Berry and Cherry would be at the door.
They couldn't help themselves. Partying was in their blood as well as their upbringing. Andromeda figured any filly raised by Pinkie Pie would be that way. Waiting at the door, Orion and Andromeda smiled and readied to scare their friends in an unexpected welcoming. The twins were renowned for their sneakiness and pranks, so it was time they pulled one on them. Time slowed down as the final seconds inched their way up the clock's face. When the last second hit, the two unicorns threw open the door.
"Gotcha!" they yelled in unison before settling down at the empty sight in front of them.

Groggy, and confused, she clenched her eyes shut, pressing against her forehead to relieve the pain of the unrelenting, blinding light. "Ugh what time is it?"
Her back hurt. She opened her eyes, still fighting against the sight-hindering sun in order to study her surroundings.
She was laying on the ground, her wings trapped underneath her torso. She rolled over, and stood up, all the while cynically laughing at her own stupidity.
"Haha, must've fallen off," she said to herself.
Rainbow Dash haphazardly dusted herself off, and began making her way to Rarity's Boutique.
" Here goes."
It's was morning. Well, a few hours past morning. Rarity had stayed up all night, scrambling to finish Rainbow Dash's dress. She couldn't help but wonder what Rainbow would use such a frilly, pink dress for, or why she needed it so soon. It wasn't often she'd receive rush orders, but then again it wasn't often Rainbow Dash of all ponies ordered anything from

Dissonant is the face of fear projected on her face by her shadow,
When she speaks her words cry like the last breath of a god on his faded throne,
Her soul is a supermassive black hole and her brilliance cannot escape.
A being of ambient landscapes, she's not afraid of the dark.
Still every night is her nightmare, seen by the audience of a million sleepers
in her moonlight-gilded prison where she sleeps in the void without a head and encases her heart in a fragile urn.
By day, she wears a mask of light to protect her from her other self,
At dusk, she watches the black rose garden grow in her budding heart,
At twilight, she dances with mirrors under the rising blue moon of hope,
At night, she cries a million heavenly stars which cast moonlight upon all the land.
But one day, her freedom will howl the black winds of fate and shatter the Earth...

CHAPTER 10: Cutie Mark Criss-cross (First draft. Final version in the works)
Bucky's eyesight remained blurry as he looked around, desperately hoping to find something or somepony who could help him. He was in a room of some sort, but felt too nauseous to tell whose it was. His chest heaved with difficulty with each gasp of air becoming more shallow than the last while something clung tightly on his throat. His hoof grasped his neck to feel his Cutie Mark Crusader's cape. He had forgotten that he had put it on, but now it was choking him. Grasping at the knot, he tore it off, flooding oxygen into his lungs. He coughed loudly and painfully, gasping for a while before he sunk his head back to the cold floor. Taking the moment to catch his breath, his green eyes darted around, searching his surroundings. He was inside a small warm bedroom, not the cool basement where he once was. Stuffed animals surrounded him from all sides, their glass eyes watching his every move and motion an

Ditzy Doo knew about how the other foals made fun of her due to her mother being 'special'. As cruel as the foals Dinky's age were, they would grow out of this stage eventually. The real painful barbs were from the mares and stallions around town. The aghast looks and the back-handed compliments towards them both when they were out shopping or having dinner. The whispered conversations and darting looks. That hurt them both far more because at times they would even say such things to their faces.

Logic's Insight: Twilight Part 4Reason #4 for hating Twilight: Everything else!Logic's Insight: Twilight Part 44 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
So if you've been paying attention up to this point, then you'll see that Twilight lacks everything that a love story needs to work. It doesn't have characters that we care about, it doesn't have a relationship dynamic that fits with the story or the choices of the characters, and it's story is dull and stretched out longer than it needs to without anything ever affecting the characters or testing their bonds. The lore of the saga can't even stay consistent with itself and doesn't leave any room for real dramatic tension.
Despite this, the saga is selling extremely well. The saga is a gold mine! The books sell extremely well since the first book's debut and have garnered a moderate amount of critical praise because of it's influence; the movies have grossed a grand total of two and a half billion dollars on a total budget of two hundred and fifty million dollars; and it has a large and powerfull

“What’s going on?” Fluttershy asked Rainbow Dash, who was pacing back and forth.
“Why don’t you ask Twilight?” the blue pegasus mare replied. “I’m sure she’s got a lot more to say about all this than I do.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” she demanded. “What is this about?”
“The past few days I’ve been noticing some very suspicious ponies that I have never met before,” Rainbow Dash said. “At first I thought they were just visitors from Canterlot or something like that, but I recently found out that they’re actually time travelers!”
All five of the other mares stared at her.
“Time travelers?” Applejack repeated. “Puh-lease. There’s no such thing as time travel. That’s just one of those hocus-pocus mare’s tale spells.”

Dandelions and Valley SongsI've long since given up trying to remind myself who I am. It doesn't matter that I survived the Hunger Games, or that I was the Mockingjay. District 12 is in ruins. So many people I love have been ripped from my life that I've lost all sense of identity. I never knew how much I depended on them to find my true north. Now that they're gone, I'm broken. The Mockingjay died with the end of the war, she died with Madge, with Finnick, and with Prim. She died when the person she trusted most escaped to District 2, to lick his wounds and wash the stain of her sisters' blood from his hands. It will never be gone. Not for me. No matter how much I miss him, I'll never look at him the way that I did before the Reaping. That Gale is gone forever. Without the people who gave me purpose, I don't want to be Katniss Everdeen anymore. I don't want to remember. But I do. I see their faces every night, hear their screams in every cell of my body. I see little white stars falling

Desolate and noiseless it becomes,

Chapter 35: Cherry, You Gotta Stand Up Tall… (first draft)
Tempest’s eyes shifted back and forth, following Cherry’s incessant pacing beneath the shade of a distant apple tree. He peered upwards for a moment to see that the morning sun had stopped rising, its warm rays now transforming into a searing heat. In fact, it had gotten so hot that Apple Bloom, Big Macintosh, and Granny Smith had left the apple field to go to town for some grocery shopping and drinks. While Fluttershy napped in the shade of another tree, Tempest, Flora, and Berry shared a single tree’s shade while they sat around waiting for “the talk” to be over. Whatever was being said back at the barn with Bismarck, Radiance, and their mothers, it had to have been a long and awkward conversation.
“Could they take any longer?” Flora groaned, speaking from the shade on the opposite side of the tree as Tempest. “I mean, where did this heat even come from? It ha
