The task was done
The creature that was lurking in the sewers of Marehime was no more. I was on the way *home* constantly trying to avoid the main street; even if I knew that nopony would be outside during that late time. The stain of the sewers followed me like it would be a fellow companion, while I was walking through the alleys that did not smell any better. Pain spread all over my body, paying the tribute of the flask I have used before the fight.
My sight started to get worse but gladly my *home* was not far away. With the remaining power that was still in my weaken body I entered the wealthy building that was outstanding others that were surrounding it. As expected the servants were already asleep, what was a good thing because I would not like them to smell that odor. Slowly it started to become a very annoying burden for my sensitive senses. My own steps sounded surprisingly loud on the wooden floor while I moved towards the public bath, which was in the lower section of

The shadowy alicorn landed in front of the steaming cave by the base of the volcano. Her wings folded against her side as she trotted closer, being careful not to slip on the mud and slick stones beneath her hooves. The air was filled with the stink of sulphur and the bubbling sound of pools of mud as they boiled in the oppressively hot and humid air. Taking as deep a breath as she dared of the stinking miasma she was surrounded by, she shouted into the cave as loudly as her prodigious voice would allow.
"Come forth Ille Qui Gubernat Monte Ignis- 'He Who Governs The Mountain's Fire!' I would speak with thee!"
She couldn't help but feel slightly proud that she was able to do this with breaking into a fit of coughing, considering the quality of the air. Of course no sooner had she thought this then a small cough escaped her lips. She sighed and shook her head ruefully, gently clearing her throat.

#97) I am an open brony with everyone, except my parents. I'd tell them, but my dad will not approve. He even disapproved and called me gay when I was really into "Phineas and Ferb". Imagine if he found out [about "Friendship is Magic"]! There's no way he would approve. But I want to buy merchandise, shirts, and other stuff. So what do you think I should do about telling my parents?
Answer: Your dad sounds like a royal prick. I don't know what his upbringing was like, but your sexuality isn't defined by watching a simple TV show. "Phineas and Ferb" might be geared towards an audience younger than yourself, but I'm not sure why it would be considered, in his eyes, to be 'gay'. I think he might be getting mixed up between watching something that's distinctly effeminate and watching something that targets kids in general. If anything, "Phineas and Ferb" is a show pitched at boys (although, naturally, it does have universal appeal) and so I can see why you'd be worried about

My quest to find him and those who were his friends, and enemies took me all over the five countries that were involved in the war.
Maverick's friends praised the work he did for the squadron. His enemies showed discontent, but also seemed to have been impressed by his abilities.
The more I read up on Maverick and the Lunar squadron, the more eager I was to meet them.

Unfortunately we got there too late to save the site. We engaged them anyway, which turned out to be a mistake. We had s
Srta. Nothing could have prepare me for what I was feeling right now. During all this years I have been constantly reminded by scholars, mages even fanatics and racists that my kind could not have feelings; that the Lesser Ones have been purged or cleansed of those things that a *normal* pony possesses. Despite everything that had been told to me, despite all those years… that made me think that I am a emotionless being… I was feeling pain, terrible pain that I did not feel since Sagitta's death.
I hit the nearby wall with my head. The echo of the hit cut through the air, small loose fragments of the wall fell down on the ground while dust have been caught by my long mane. The mare, that was behind me, yelped and jumped back.
The stallion who was carrying the name Corvus suddenly hit the wall with his head. It scared me so much that I yelped loudly and jumped back surprisingly far. Once the shock fade

In the land of Equestria, long ago
there were two royal sisters, of that you know
One brought the night, the other the day
But one other princess was hidden away
One so sad, with a broken heart
for in this world she had no part
One who had the gift of will
but nopony needed her still
For ponies ruled the Equestrian land
and setting it free was never planned
So from the castle, one day she fled
ponies watching her fly overhead
She felt so useless, so unneeded
her sorrow ignored, so unheeded
She flew to the south, nopony was there
the land had no will, leaving it bare
She poured her magic into the earth
she saw it all happen, her magic give birth
Birth to a place where all was free
from the weather to the growth of a tree
She brought some ponies to show them her land
they stayed a while, finding it grand
But soon they learned the darker side
of the shadows and what they hide
The creatures that lurked behind the bend
were the kind y

#100) What prompted you to start your Brony Advice column? Also, you seem to get a wide range of questions concerning everything from personal relationship and social group issues, to commentaries on art and music, all surrounding the MLP fandom; do you ever find yourself surprised or caught off guard by the questions you receive, and do you ever have difficulty answering them?
Answer: I started this column with a simple dream: a dream of understanding brony thought-processes. I like to do my best to observe the fandom and draw from it what I can. A good way of doing this is via samples and case studies. Some excellent case studies are in the form of these questions; as the questions are being asked by bronies, generally, they are representative of what certain parts of the fandom are thinking. Even the most ridiculous questions are worth documenting: in twenty years time I can look back on this column and see exactly the kind of things that bronies were thinking at the t

Celestia blinked, looking back at the young purple filly standing in the doorway.
"Twilight! What are you doing out of bed?" Celestia asked, gazing at the small unicorn with a frown.
A grey royal guard gave a small cough, and motioned to the filly. "She said that she could not fall asleep, Your Highness. She would like you to tell her a 'bedtime story.'"
The small unicorn smiled, her eyes sparkling. "PLEEEAAAAASE Miss Princess? My Mommy always tells me stories before bedtime. She says it helps me to have good dreams."
Celestia stared at the young filly, whose coat suddenly changed into a purplish-blue, and mane to a light cyan. She sprouted tiny wings, and donned royal jewelry.
"Tia, could you consider telling me a tale tonight?" the Alicorn asked, her sweet smile seeming to warm the room.
"Sister, I am frightfully busy at the moment..." a white Alicorn sporting a pink mane sighed, using her magic to levitate a small purple quill and importan

Canterlot's silent, evening streets were not graced by the moon's rays, as a thick veil of storm clouds blocked it from view. The calm before the storm was chilling, the entire world holding its breath in anticipation of the first drop of rain.
And when it fell, it came in torrents, crashing over rooftops and spilling into overflowing gutters. A streak of lightning illuminated the entirety of the peaceful capital, the violent rumble of thunder following quickly on its heels.
However, the solitary pony ensconced within the Canterlot Palace archives paid no mind to the storm outside. She'd come to the archives on a mission; a mission of which nopony was to know. If news of this got out, all her careful planning would be for naught.
Her only company came in the form of a single candle, wax dripping slowly into the smooth, brass holder beneath it as time wore on. A pile of books lay sprawled in front of her. Each carelessly tossed aside when it was deemed unimportant to her.

The big two-parter has arrived! And My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is kicking off with the Crystal Empire two-parter.
The first part is about Celestia giving Twilight the rather monumental test of finding a way to protect the Crystal Empire upon its mysterious return from the shadowy King Sombra (meaning shadow in Spanish).
And the second part is focuses more on Twilight finding the Crystal Heart which is key to stopping Sombra.
This two parter is easily the most visually stunning two-parter yet. Everything from movement to lighting to the absolutely gorgeous looking Crystal Empire is incredibly well-designed.
And surprisingly enough, darker as well. As in, there was more liberal use of black and shadows this time around, giving some pivotal scenes more atmosphere.
This willingness to be 'dark' just means that kids get a more well-rounded entertainment. They're gonna' have to use the potty on their own one day after all.
However, that's also the double-edge sword with Crystal Empi

The Celestial Mechanics in Midsummer
By Foxxy Hooves
I rise early, and my sister sleeps late, but still we get along just fine.
As the day carries on and the sun drags down behind the westward trees around two or three in the afternoon, just then I'll often be seated in my quiet study with my work, my scrolls, and a bit of tea in my favorite fire-red kettle - the one with the little suns dancing around the perimeter. And after a bit I'll start hearing her scurrying around upstairs, the soft dabbling of delicate hooffalls in the rooms above. Then, after some delay, here she'll come downstairs, stepping heavily with purpose, her mane in a tangled mess and her wings imperfectly symmetrical, where she will stop, raise her hoof in a salute, and absurdly bark:
"Salutations, and a good morning to thou, sister! -- Queen Celestia!"
…or some other linguistically tortured greeting. I think she thinks them up the morning b

#1) I fantasize about being in a relationship with Twilight Sparkle. I can't seem to stop myself. What should I do?~
Answer: While the behaviour is, of course, unusual, at least you realise that something is wrong, which means that you're halfway there to winning the battle. While it's healthy to develop certain bonds with characters from a TV show, there's obviously a point where reality and fantasy should remain separate. That point, it appears, seems to be when you start imagining yourself in a relationship with a pony.
While you're sure to face a degree of ridicule based on your confession, it's important to understand why you feel attracted to Twilight Sparkle. If it's the qualities that her character conveys, such as punctuality, hard-work and intelligence, then those are all fine traits that you perhaps wish to find in a real-life partner. Given the detailed characterisation of the ponies in "Friendship is Magic", it's not beyond the realms of comprehension that pe
The darkness within - PoemThe darkness within - Poem2 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
I shall now begin
A story of sin
Of a princess named Luna
Who had darkness within
She brought up the stars
From both near and far
But her head filled with envy
In her mind, it did scar
Ponies slept during twilight
They cared not for her night
So the dark made her jealous
So much that she'd fight
This evil had wit
In the deaths, it did sit
Made her jealous and angry
It would never just quit
Only true evil knows
How her anger had rose
Keeping darkest thoughts near
And pure hatred close
Until one day she broke
In anger she spoke
Held the sun low
As the darkness had woke
The true queen of Night
So dark was the sight
She bathed in the evil
And struck us with blight
We lost sense in the fear
When she did come near
Now there's none left to hear
And as we had yearned
For the princess to return
Under cold Luna's rule
Our hope then, did burn
She had left her mark
So this world now was dark
But when all was but lost
We heard Celesta's hark
"Set my subjects free"
"And then come with

#85) Why do bronies have such low self-esteem? On websites like Bronysquare and Ponysquare they're always wallowing in self-pity about how much their lives suck, and they come across as being really pathetic. Many of these people don't even know what suffering is. Even if their lives do suck the internet doesn't need to know about it!
Answer: While I'd like to say that people suffering from life problems should be able to receive help online, I do find myself getting annoyed by most of the excessively 'emo' internet comments I come across. I see bronies claiming that they're going to commit suicide more often than I'd like I've never seen any of them actually go through with it and plenty do wallow in self-pity, as you say. Then again, it's not hard to see why. Chances are that bronies aren't the most popular kids at school. Those that gravitate towards fandoms tend to be your typical 'nerd' types, which plenty of bronies are. It's no surprise that some of t

#10) I know a brony who legally changed his name to that of a pony. What's up with that?
Answer: Some fans are really extreme when it comes to how much they like the show/fandom. Some love it so much that they're willing to do irrational things, one of which is changing your name legally to that of a pony. At that point, you're most likely taking things too far. I'm all for expressing yourself and feeling free to behave however you wish (as long as it doesn't impact on others), but the primary issue with the pony-name thing, apart from the inherent ridicule that'll arise from it, seems to be lasting appealing.
Consider that the show won't be around forever. Whether it lasts for another year or two, it's highly unlikely that you'll be watching new "Friendship is Magic" episodes in 2020. By that point, it's reasonable to assume that the fandom will have slowed down a heck of a lot. Logic suggests that when episodes stop being produced, interest in the show will dwindle; som

#58) I have been a fan of MLP since Season 1, continued to be one through Season 2 and I am looking forward to Season 3. But as time has gone by, I feel my initial excitement for the fandom has faded alot. I am not looking to new stories as much, nor new fanart and instead, I'm focusing on other things besides ponies. Am I not really a fan any more because my focus isn't on ponies so much?
Answer: Being a fan of something doesn't mean you have to experience it all of the time. It's like having a best friend: you don't need to necessarily talk to them all the time, or even see them for a long time, and yet you still just know that they're an excellent friend to have. Much in the same way, being a fan of "Friendship is Magic" doesn't require you to actively involve yourself in it. It can be more of a subconscious thing, based more on your time already in the fandom, and your attitude in general towards what the brony 'thing' offers.
It's not unusual that you would somewhat

#73) My best bro and I have been bronies for a while now. I would never bring up being a brony on purpose to anyone who didn't know. But now we're doing a project in Literature class, and my friend is doing his on how he became a brony. I don't think it's a good idea. In fact, I find it embarrassing. What should I do?
Answer: This is something that seems to happen reasonably often people become big fans of "Friendship is Magic", and then fancy teaching the world to sing by shedding light on it in a class. And while you could argue that older individuals liking the show is an interesting point of observation, it's not particularly academic (not in terms of literature, at least) and so a presentation on it doesn't seem appropriate in general for that type of class.
It might be because I'm in the UK, but I know for a fact that if I presented on MLP in one of my university seminars I wouldn't be taken seriously by the teacher or the students. We tend to do

Bathing in prismatic light
Awaking free at last
Able to move on my own, I'm back in control
Only blurred memories left
Glimpses of the past
In my dreams I still walk the surface of Moon
I saw my home
From where I stood
What once was my home
From my thousand-year room
Isolated on the Moon
Locked within the abyss of time
A voice echoed in my mind
A shadow reflecting life
Resentful thoughts enslaved my soul, my heart
How did it wish to break free
Torment the world once seen
How did I wish it to leave my soul, my heart
Long years alone
Friendless and cold
Alone with my thoughts
One tormenting soul
While my spirit roamed the Moon
Locked within the abyss of time
So warm it feels to walk on earth
So much it heals to see living world
So much it calms to meet loved ones
