To My Unknowing LoverMany pages full of love notesTo My Unknowing Lover8 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
All to my unknowing lover
Poems, letters, drawings, odes
Waiting for him to discover
I wonder if there'll be a day
On which he'll read it all
Scan through where my secrets lay
Oh, how scared I am to fall
But fear is a bad adviser
And falling is part of living
What doesn't kill me, makes me wiser
And one must be forgiving
For we all do age
For it is never or now
If you make me blue, I'll leave the stage
Broken hearted, but with a bow

Fragile WingsFlying high into the clear blue sky has left your wings fragileFragile Wings1 year ago in Songs & Lyrics More Like This
And now I can see those folded wings are making you feel tired
Don't try to force a smile for anybody else
But don't forget that it's okay to smile for yourself
Your sweet voice didn't always seem to hurt me
Now I hear it everyday, the pain engulfs me
I wanna go back and relive all our moments,
but my luck is now against me.
There are no words to describe it;
the feeling that I get whenever I look into your eyes.
Your feelings cannot hide from me.
Try to hide all your pain deep inside
We don't need the sky to fly- we can just swim in the sea, as time goes by

Even when alone,
Forgotten,
Keeps on singing,
His beautiful
Music
Filling the air
With color,
He does this
Not to forget,
Not for self
Serving glory,
Or to simply
Fill the void,
For the Songbird
Is a poet, and it
Is not in his
Nature to
Despise the world,
But to love it
Even if the songs
Be melancholy,
They still are
Of this life
And the Songbird
Lives on
Always singing
Among the trees
And in the grassy

Have I walked left instead of right?
How many times
Have I walked in the darkness instead of the light?
How many times
Will I spit on your face?
How many times
Will I deny your grace?
All the times that I've lost
All the time that I've sinned
They all lead to the cross
The place where my savior's been
All the times that I've lied
All the times that I've hated
They all lead too where my savior died
After that he rose again
How many times
Have you opened your arms wide?
How many times
Have you stayed by my side?
How many times
Have you forgiven my iniquity?
How many times
Have you loved me anyway?

In a lot,
Shopping carts scattered across a mysterious mist.
A sight and scent so alluring that I must resist.
It's colder than ice,
I know the temperature comes with a price.
It sends shivers down my spine,
As the clock strikes nine.
Time is running short,
If only I could abort.
Then maybe I would have a chance,
To escape this evil trance.
I take a step forward.
The white mist blankets my vision,
Almost as scary as a car collision.
Now that they're gone,
The coast is clear.
I must escape this hell,
If I'm ever to survive.
Hope has gone far down the well.
I'm the one that got away.
Maybe it's because I've

It stung with a vengeance spiked with love
It would never leave her to herself
That would have been too easy
Love was never that kind
If only then maybe
Maybe then she

Sometimes he would remember the sharp edges of his love
It was almost impossible to forget the many scars
He would create hateful marks wanting to say
The sacred words everyone wanted to hear
But the words were always trapped
And every time he tried
To say those words

They rested against her mind with a calming embrace
Coated with the blood that tainted things carry
Filled with kisses and carefully placed passion
Lost within the arms of care
That only exists in memory
She wanted to cry
But the tears
Were too
Dry
There were moments that he could recall the three words

A Day Without A YesterdayIt seemed so long agoA Day Without A Yesterday2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
These memories of mine;
A long lost time, far away.
The patter of nostalgia
Heralding all my yesterdays;
Through the window of a soul.
The drumbeat reminder
Of all that's been;
That will be when tomorrow comes.
The love which echoes
Through all those years;
Were they ever there?
Outside of this trunk
A stamp collected with each smile;
Are they my own to keep?
Trinkets of the past
Held close to my chest, giving warmth;
Are these comforts from another's future?
All I know may not be mine
Your breath and touch long gone;
From another lover's glance.

I Wanted to Come HereI Wanted to Come Here2 years ago in Stories & Vignettes More Like This
I wanted to come here. All the way to a place called Buffalo Grove, Illinois. About an hour outside of Chicago. A little suburban area with a dead end on every other block, and a bike path that went on for miles.
This was once my haven. An area of the world that kept a baby girl sheltered from all those bad things. This place where she could grow up and never have to see the ugly face of the world that's lurking just beyond its mask.
I feel it before I see it; that long, black asphalt road. Houses lining one side and a field on the other that went on for about a hundred yards before reaching the train tracks. Tracks that a small

I want my bones to bleach me pure,
a clear, clean conquest as my prize.
I want my journey a soft sacrifice
for those who cannot speak;
I want each climb to take me higher,
my strides on stable path to peak.
I want to smile at dead-beat dogs
whose owners lost their minds;
I want to sing all Earth to stupor,
paint perfect patterns in its eyes.
And when i'm snow-swept backdrops

We think about our miniscule lives.
And why with dreams come nightmares,
And joys; sorrows.
Looking toward the ocean of a sky,
We know its our turn to jump off the horizon.
Hand in hand, we give way to our new wings,
Letting them spread to as long as they want.
Piece by piece, our grief falls off,
Showing your smile and eyes like the sun and sea.
This haze is like a dream, but I don't care,
For once it feels so raw and beautiful, so real.
This light is finally brighter than the darkness,
As I lie down on a cloud and absorb this new found freedom,
I know that sleeping forever r

Look at me.If I got your attention, what I would do...Look at me.1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
There's something I can show you.
My skill and potential.
My personality and charm.
If I got your attention, what would you do?
Be interested, avid, even?
Or wrinkle up your nose at the idea of what I show.
Or just delighted?
To have attention...
Of all the things I could tell you, to whisper in your ear.
Or things I'd be too timid to say to you.
I can tell you things.
More greater than my thoughts.
To have more power than my voice will speak.
To say things to you, I'm too scared to call out.
So look at me, and I'll happily tell you.

The praise and adulation of your peers,
But not the girl.
Watch for women whose voices are smoother
than their skin.
And whose kisses posses you
Like a demon
from within.
Men want here and now and are so proud
They never admit that
Their love is true
And if they do,
Teasing ensues.
You have feelings
Speak them loud
Let them be seen like the sun
Who lights the ground
Who lets those know
That you have pain
That you have love
That you care
That all those fake stereotypes are just
Unfair.
There will be clouds that hide your rays
And sometimes you feel like
You're weak
You're small

So many things I've overcome
But not the rain

I have this dream
A row full of smiling faces
All these people for me
Then they walk away
To be alone
Can't depend on my own
I just want to believe
That someone cares just as much about me
I walk down these halls everyday
But everywhere I look I see your face
All my memories of you and I
I can't escape
I only have two more weeks
And yes maybe it was time to leave
But why do I still want you

Quietly mumbling "The End"
And then hiding from the spies.
They creep through the window,
Knocking like sugar at the door,
Their hands winter bare branches,
And their eyes hollow to the core.
The princess falters in dashing down the stairs,
Glass slippers left behind and shattered.
The children greet her at the door,
But cannot recognize her through the torn and tattered.
The story does not end,
In the mind of one it may not have started.
And the dreams of a two year old child scream they are done.
Then you wake up and all is parted.
