At 8am in the morning, LNER Peppercorn Class K1 2.6.0 number 62005 "Lord Of The Isles" (running vice nameplates) empties her drain cocks upon departure from Buckley Wells yard on the East Lancashire Railway. The local residents I can imagine were thrilled at this, as was I to be on the other side of the fence, my volunteer status giving me access.

Making it's first visit to the West Coast Mainline in several years is preserved London and North Eastern Railway Gresley A4 Pacific number 4464 (60019) 'Bittern', viewed here blasting through Lancaster on the outward leg of the tour towards Carnforth whilst working the 'Cumbrian Ranger'.
