LITERATURE ROADTRIP SIGN UPS CLOSED!EDIT:LITERATURE ROADTRIP SIGN UPS CLOSED!10 months ago in Personal More Like This
Yes, sign-ups for Literature Roadtrip 2.0 are now closed. There are so many of you, and I am so happy because of this. (Though this does mean it will be more difficult to choose for the first three days! Ah!) But I look forward to travelling around deviantART and discovering some amazing literature. I will be spending the next few days narrowing down everything. A timetable will be posted on January 9th. And everyone will receive their list of deviants around the same time, as well as some more information, through notes/messages.
Get excited fellow deviants!
Yes, you are correct, I am hosting another 'Literature Roadtrip'!
Back in June 2013 I created the first ever 'Literature Roadtrip'. I have had a number of requests to do another one, and have finally found the time to host it. However,

Literature Roadtrip 2.0 TimetableLiterature Roadtrip 2.0 Timetable10 months ago in Personal More Like This
Can you believe it? Can you actually believe it?! Literature Roadtrip 2.0 is officially here - well tomorrow anyway. But I am excited to announce that this is the official timetable! It was incredibly hard to choose who to have in the first three days, but I am very happy with my decision. I was unable to have every deviant suggested on the last day, so I choose those who were suggested the most. I hope you guys enjoy the trip and if you have any questions/have a problem with my decision/wondering why you weren't chosen/want to chat send me a message, I'm always willing to help you out!

Show love, everyone! It's a beautiful thing.Soooo, I have a journal idea I think everyone will love. I want people to comment on this journal with people they love! Pretty easy, right? Mention/tag (Whatever term you wanna use. ) people that you love for whatever reason! And if you'd like, add a small (Or large! ) blurb why! Here, I'll start!Show love, everyone! WeirdAndLovely, because she's the most beautiful girl on the planet to me. She's smart, witty, charming, and I'm so glad she's my girlfriend. She's a brilliant artist and I love her so damn much.
SpriteBlayde, because Kelsy is my longest (and best) friend. She's been here for me through thick and thin, when so many people have come, gone, tried to come back and left again, she's been the constant for me for two years. And I couldn't be more grateful for that. She's my sister!
A-Lovely-Anxiety, because she's my favorite 49er. So brilliant, beautiful, intelligent, and a wonderful sister of mine. We'll always be southern 49ers

Literature Roadtrip: Day 1Literature Roadtrip: Day 19 months ago in Personal More Like This
The first day of the Literature Roadtrip 2.0 was incredible. I had a lot of fun travelling around three different profiles and exploring the pieces of literature that I had not had the pleasure of reading. The three beautiful deviants that I visited today are extremely talented individuals, and I urge you all to go over to their profiles and check out their galleries as you will not be disappointed. Give them a comment, a favourite, a shout out, anything. Please!
The moment that I opened up her gallery, I was amazed. Her talent is astounding, her work is inspiring and she has probably become my favourite writer on deviantART.
I was so happy that I was able to read through this be

If your day has been buggy and you feel like a caterpillar in the rain, this feature is for you.
Firstly, if you feel like life keeps raining on you: That's okay. That's what friends and umbrellas are for.
It will get better. You just wait. There is no shame in seeking refuge until then.
Make sure you get a hug. Take a hug from velvet bug for now, he's eager to give you one.
Remember that you are beautiful. If you really are a caterpillar, you must be one of those colourful fellows:
Remember that you have got wings that were made for flying.
If yours refuse to carry you right now, borrow strength from stronger wings.
Remember: You are not alone. You are one of us. You are part of a greater picture. And at the same time, you are unique unlike any other.
And never, never forget: No matter how tiny, b

Poem written by an 11 year old Afghan girl
This poem was recorded in a NYT magazine article about female underground poetry groups in Afghanistan. An amazing article about the ways in which women are using a traditional two line poetry form to express their resistance to male oppression, their feelings about love (considered blasphemous).

For those of you not familiar with this series, each month we'll be delving into a group that is dedicated to their members and giving back to the dA Community through exposure, hosting regular events and just being an all around awesome place for deviants to settle in and feel welcome.
In a couple sentences, can you please describe what your group is about?
BurdenedHearts is a group that intends to provide a space for people to connect and make friendships based on shared emotional experiences. We try to strike up conversations between our members, we talk about positive and negative things - we try not to provide support directly as a group, rather we try to create an environment where its possible and encouraged for people to support each other because we feel like that has a longer lasting effect on people's lives th

DeviantART Compliments #118Reviews have become a trend here on dA don't get better than this work in my honest opinion. With that said, Nolannilestheletter always delivers on what I honestly believe is a major problem in fan fiction that should be taken seriously for the simple fact that fan fiction is like any other literature genre. How to Write Helpful Critiques/ FeedbackNow that I have been looking at several literature pieces a week, there aren't a whole lot of comments that provide the writers with feedback. So here's a guide that I thought might be useful for some people on how to provide helpful feedback and critiques. How to Write Helpful Critiques/ Feedback4 months ago in Literature Features More Like This
Before I begin, I would like to say that I have been a part of a wonderful writing group for the past four years. The writing club is where I first learned how to do a critique. I have also been taught some critique techniques during my college studies. In addition to the writing club and college classes, I have been doing my best to leave helpful feedback and critiques here on deviantART. This guide is based entirely off of my personal experience. As I think of more tips, I will be editing this guide.

Twice a week a member of our lovely team will start a chat with you all. We'd love it if you would join in.
I'm TwilightPoetess, and today, I want to talk about the people that you appreciate--either on dA/the net or in real life.
Recently, I decided to take an unplanned hiatus. I was still around--sort of. I came to dA, and I looked through my messages, and I responded if they were important or timely...but I wasn't really here. I don't know what the problem was, I'm not sure what exactly brought it about...but I woke up this morning feeling MUCH better. More like myself.
So I came to dA, and I posted a poll letting people know that I'm still alive. I'm still here, and while I can't promise I won't up and decide to go on hiatus again in the future, I'm feeling good as new RIGHT NOW... And as the comments started pouring in, I realized, once again, how much I appreciate the family I've found on dA. You're all so wonderful,
