What you see here is slightly smoked and fried salmon on a bed of fresh field salad, accompanied by cherry tomatoes, steamed carrots and fried tofu. And what I also see, is that my pear looks suspiciously white in this picture.

Hi Everyone, Sorry but bento are going to be scarce for a while. Living in Kansas means I have few ingredients and less ways to cook even. Living with a family of 5 was not my intention, but I have little choice now. I am trying to make them... but well. As can be seen from my earlier, pre-diet food photos, I love cake, so I wanted to find a low-carb cake and I discovered this. Surprisingly, it uses no flour, but rather relies on eggs to make it fluffy, and it is actually quite fluffy! Unfortunately I could not use the prescribed bittersweet chocolate, due to its sugar content, so I used unsweetened, which gave it a slightly stronger taste than it should have, but otherwise it tasted good; I simply used more sugar than the recipe prescribed. The ganache was good too, my first ganache, which is simpler than it sounds, just chocolate and cream! The recipe is from Chef Aaron McCargo Jr. via foodnetwork.com. God bless!
