Dearest sister... I have allowed myself to stay in your shadow for far too long. Tonight, our subjects shall truly appreciate the beauty of the night. For the sun will never rise again, and the night shall reign eternal!
Luna, please... Don't make me do this...
Luna had finally reached her breaking point in regards to the ponies always ignoring her night sky. She paced about her room, putting the last pieces of her plan together. If their subjects didn't want to see how beautiful the night sky was, she would make them see it. As cruel as it seemed, they would wake up to a world where night was all-encompassing, and could not be ignored. The door to her room swung open, and in the doorway stood her sister. Her plans needed to change to accommodate for this snag.
I decided to make this drawing to visually 'counter' the Celestia drawing I created a couple of weeks ago, which can be found here: [link]. It's been sitting in the back of my mind as an idea, and I just had to draw it in between studying for exams.
As you can see, Luna is already beginning to turn into Nightmare Moon. I figured she was about the same size as Celestia before her transformation and subsequent rescue by Twilight and company.
Just a (weak) try of the crystal-pony-effect. However, I also wanted to draw Twilight Sparkle with her new wings – since I didn't make a picture of any regular pony-characters (besides of Rarity and Photo Finish for a 'design-a-dress'-contest), I felt like it was really-really time for that. So, I combined the crystal-project and this main-character-with-wings-stuff.
Oi, besides of Luna, Twilight seems to be almost my favorite. She is such an odd/strange/whatever girl and is very caught by her interests; books and studies – I have a weak point for those personalities. Which didn't change, by the way, when she became an alicorn. ->To be honest, I don't care about the whole alicorn-discussion around the internet, 'cause it's still the same pony. Why have people to be so obsessive with the fact, which 'kind' or 'race' a pony is...? Ponies ARE Ponies – with wings, horns, scales or whatever; they are still, what they are.
And this princess-thing is so...lame-oh for a greater conversation. I mean: Seriously, what's so special if a pony is a princess/alicorn or not? Remember Cadence, guys. A little princess looks after a tiny pony as her babysitter – which let me really think about the 'big deal' it must be to be a princess in the MLP-universe. If Cadence wouldn't have the crystal empire, then she would be obviously a pony like everybody else. (And I'm pretty sure, that she isn't immortal/eternal like Celestia or Luna.) So, I don't get it, why people think, that Twilight will change her way of existing just because she became a princess/alicorn. I can't imagine, why she should not live anymore in Ponyville – or why she should stop with her studies and stuff. 'Princess' is just a title. Alicorns are just ponies with some extras. And Twilight Sparkle is just Twilight Sparkle.
So I decided when making larger versions of my stained glass designs that I would try to make them better and more cannon. In this version, her mane and tail are much more cannon, and instead of stars like all the other versions with Luna, I've placed bats all around her. I felt like the bats echoed her personality better than stars. Also, it looks like she just had her cloak removed!

Characters are from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which is copyright Hasbro and Lauren Faust. The stained Glass design is based on the Stations of Awakening from the game Kingdom Hearts, which is copyright Square Enix and Disney.

Actually I'm not someone to support too the new game industry, I have always preferred the golden age. So I ask,What playing Luna when she was a filly? obviously good games. She loves all SEGA consoles, and there is nothing like playing a Game Gear and eat some muffins for a good afternoon. She loves games like The GG Shinobi and Power Strike II and is really good in them. I choose this Luna look because honestly, I do not like the "original" design, I much prefer the second version, so that's why I decided to draw her in this way. I have some ideas planned for Luna, and depending on the acceptance of this picture, see if I can make them. Hope you like it!
