The morning sun rose, shining upon Ponyville. Beams of light came through the windows of the living quarters at Ponyville Library. Slowly moving across the floor until they landed on a small basket in the middle of the room, containing a small purple dragon named Spike.
The light woke him, and as he stirred in his bed, opening his eyes to the world, a question ran through his head, on one wall, he saw the answer indicated on a wall calendar. It was Saturday, and the day before, Friday, was crossed out. But he could still read what was well-marked in Friday's square: "Rarity's Funeral"
He stood, yawned and stretched his arms wide, recovering from a long night's sleep. He looked over at the dresser at one end of the room, and noticed a gold ring sitting on top of it. Getting out of his bed, he walked over, and examined the ring, it was exactly as he last left it, tiny fragments of the original gemstone were still lodged in

In the main kitchen of Sugarcube Corner, a young earth pony was carefully covering a cake with bright pink icing. After she smoothed out the top, she stepped back to look over her work, spatula still in mouth. Before her were three cakes, each a different colour. They would all ready for decorating once the icing was allowed to set for a few minutes. Pinkie Pie trotted over to the kitchen sink, dropped the spatula within, and quickly washed her hooves.
With time to kill, and left alone in charge of the shop, she didn't have much to do. There were no customers, as she could see once she walked to the front of the store, but there were two little foals who were sleeping upstairs. She trotted to the upper level to check on them, making sure they didn't get into any mischief.
Quietly proceeding down the hallway, she looked in their room to see their crib empty. This, however, did not worry her.

A certain pegasus flew back into Ponyville to find the entire town completely deserted. She flew all around, obviously checking the homes of her friends. Twilight’s Golden Oaks Library was all books and no ponies, every dessert in Sugarcube Corner was left untouched by Pinkie Pie, Sweet Apple Acres had no work of Applejack’s done, the Carousel Boutique had no Rarity for all those dresses, and Fluttershy’s cottage didn’t have a single living thing even living there.
Once Rainbow Dash checked everywhere else, she did find one caped figure standing in front of the town square. Next to the figure was a life sized statue of Rainbow Dash, but it was wearing a helmet, a red cape with a golden zipper, red strap on and a cloud making a yellow lightning bolt on it, and four golden gauntlets with tiny white wings for each hoof of the statue. The helmet and gauntlets were rainbow colored and had golden coverings to assure they were made of metal.
Once she flew close enough,

Snips and Snails were dripping sweat as they struggled to drag along the heavy wooden cart that dug into the ground. The cart plowed up the dirt and left a sizable trench in its wake. They looked at one another, tired and worn out from pulling the new tyrant of ponyville to the edge of the forcefield. They stopped for a moment to take a quick break. As soon as they had stopped, a glowing red whip snapped at their backsides from mid-air.
"Pull you fools!" the whip snapped it at them twice more. "Somepony set off the magic forcefield and Trixie intends to punish them!" shouted Trixie as she prepared to whip her subjects once more for good measure. She did not have to go through with the final whip, as the two simpletons had begun to move twice as fast as they previously were. Snips craned his head back towards the unrelenting whip wielder.
"But wouldn't it be faster if we had some wheels?" he asked nervously, his voice higher than usual.
Trixie's head snapped up and he

Under the Clouds a New World
All my life I had been weak on my wings
Helpless fly, unable to hold my own
All my life I had feared falling off the clouds
Scared I fell into world below my own
Had I seen the green world
Boundless beauty it offered
I saw wonders born of earth
Miracles of nature's work
On the ground I had been once scared to see
Thrived the world full of colors, light and life
All my life I had been weak on my wings
On the ground I am not afraid to fall
On the sky
Vaults of heaven gave me
Wings to fly above the clouds
Woodland creatures guided me
Breathe the air of living earth (the green earth )
Through the woods tranquil
I heard fauna's songs
Gentle wind told me stories of the land
Smiling I answered, understood their words
Learned to lo

"Everypony, remain calm so as to allow our fair city to be efficiently defended!"
Even given its volume, Shining Armor's request fell on deaf ears. Unicorn citizenry either shivered in corners, or ran in all directions in an attempt to make themselves scarce from the chaos that was downtown Canterlot.
Meanwhile armored pegasi flew about, combating household objects which had become animate--brooms, mops, pantries, and even ovens which had learned to put their super-heating abilities to malicious use.
A squadron of fifty unicorns, led by Shining Armor and Princess Cadance, rushed to the scene of greatest commotion. While weary from preventing casualties for the past hour, they were still fueled by adrenaline granted through the will to prevent even more.
And at that scene, they found the source of the chaos--quite literally, in fact.
"Discord! It is you! I didn't believe it at first," said Shining Armor. He looked around. "Even when Celestia told me the legends of your

The Crystal Empire was slowly becoming engulfed in a mass of threatening, black clouds; dark as the deadliest of storms. Screams could be heard all around as the crystal ponies began to panic. Up in the tallest tower in the city, Twilight found herself trapped within the confines of a black-crystal prison, the gems risen up from the ground, blocking any means of escape for the lavender unicorn. Just outside, Spike started to feel nervous. His eyes darted from side to side, his feet moved up and down like two, small pistons.
Twilight started to scramble within the crystal-walled trap, looking for the Crystal Heart with a set of panicked eyes.

The streets of Ponyville were empty- everypony had gone off to celebrate the holiday. The air was chilled, with an indigo sky so dark even the most dim stars stood out like giant fireflies. The sides of the street were lined with a thin layer of snow. It was an unusually snow-less Hearth's Warming Eve - briskly cold, but not cold enough for snow to remain in its crystallized state.
Scootaloo slowly trotted down the empty road, head hung low and tail tucked between her legs- both out of depression and as a means to keep herself warm in the chilly night air. The gentle gust, persistent in its presence, made the filly's purple mane flicker.
She lifted her head, her set of violet eyes looked left, then right. Nothing but darkened shops and illuminated homes, candles perched in the windowsills, flickering behind the glass as she walked on. She thought about her final destination - her

As Twilight and Spike walked back to the library, the young dragon just seemed to have one question on his mind.
“But do you like me too?” asked Spike.
Twilight giggled slightly. “Yes Spike, for the fiftieth time yes.”
“But you said you loved me. Does that mean you like me or you like me as a friend or maybe you-“
Spike’s seemingly endless babbling was quickly cut short when Twilight suddenly planted a quick kiss on his lips. “Does that answer the question, Spike?” Twilight asked with a warm smile.
As soon as Twilight’s lips met his, Spike froze. The only sign of life in his shocked face was a quickly growing blush. After a few more seconds the purple dragon spoke. “Uhhhhhhh, yes?”
Twilight couldn’t help but giggle at Spike’s innocent answer. “Okay then. Shall we continue back to the library now?

"Whoa, Twilight," said Spike, his voice laced with awe. "Really?"
"Really really!" said Twilight, smiling with pride. "At least, as applied to bunnies. Ponies and dragons are a teensy bit more complicated, so our answers will take me a lot longer to come up with. Probably years!"
"Well, I'll help you find them however I can." Spike chuckled. "Though somehow, I don't think Angel will be all that pleased with your findings..."
"Oh, wow, good point. Well, maybe Fluttershy can talk him dow-" Twilight paused, thought about the possibility for a few seconds, then said, "You know what, you're right. Let's just not tell him. He seems to have fun with his life--if all of a sudden we tell him that he actually has no true free w

Rarity looked more like a mother cat carrying her kitten than a studious fashionista racing to provide aid to a dragon whelp.
Indeed, as Spike wrapped his arms and legs closer, as his tail came up between his legs, he played the part even more so. As the pain coursed through him he curled tighter and tighter into a ball. The sensation of hanging by the scruff of his neck from Rarity's lips only added to his discomfort.
Rarity had no time to ponder that. As her magic flew in front of her, the bathroom door flung open, and inside an instant she withdrew a white towel from the linen closet.
She laid him there, upon the bathmat, spinning it around before she lowered him so that the length of Spike's body sat upon the soft, shaggy surface. His little body settled down into a figure of abject unhappiness, seemingly aware that his deception was now to be called into check.
Rarity's horn came alight again, and what little healing magic she knew drifted over him as she

A white unicorn in royal robes and sparkling crown stood atop a snow-spotted peak. The blizzard responsible for it had been thwarted a full week prior--and hopefully, forever--but from her vantage point, its effects could still easily be seen across the horizon.
In its half-melted state, the snow highlighted the flora of the land below, causing several colors of the rainbow to shine under the moonlight.
Princess Platinum smiled. They almost hadn't done it. Heaven knew she hadn't contributed all that much to their cause.
At that moment, however, she at last heard the hoofsteps of one who had.
"Ahh, Clover the Clever," Platinum greeted the brown-robed violet unicorn who had just traversed the peak's leading trail. "Thank you for showing. I... did not wish to inconvenience you whilst you were napping."
Clover nodded with a light, airy smile. "I appreciate it. Still, I came as soon as I read your note. Is anything the matter?"

Falling dreams are supposed to be nightmares.
Falling dreams are supposed to make those who dream them come awake with screams. Falling dreams are supposed make the dreamer pour sweat upon their sheets and sit up in their beds and tremble with a thick, palpable fear.
This was no nightmare.
The dreamer did not come awake. Instead the dreamer kept her mind in the moment, fought to remain in the dream.
This was no nightmare. This was the sweetest kind of dream.
Rarity felt the tears in her eyes, but it was not fear that drew them from her. It was not the wind that the dream was whistling past her ears that forced the tears from her. The tears welled up in her from deep within they welled up as she stared into Spike's eyes, and once again the little whelp plummeting through the sky with her prepared to say the words.
In the imperfect reality her dreams sheltered her from, there had

I'm watching the timeline
The tokens left of those days
There once was a time when
I still resembled myself
In those pictures
Younger me once sew
The blanket on which
Older me now sleeps
Drifts in the past
Where we once cantered
We had no fears, we had no cares
There we once cantered
When we were young, me and my friends
I've lived a full life
I've reaped and sown my own share
Cradle of children
Harvest born of first seeds
I remember how I saw them bloom
Grow full of life
And how they faded away
Left in the fields
Where we once cantered
We had no fears, we had no cares
There we once cantered
When we were young, me and my friends
I am the line that's ending
I can now depart smiling
Wait for me one last moment
I'm on my way back to you
Where we once cantered
We felt no fea

"It does feel pretty good to be in one of the stained glass windows in the Canterlot Palace. Of course it's traditional to always make one when somepony…or dragon, saves the day."
Spike stopped and started entering his little basket bed while Twilight continued on to her bed. She used her magic to lift the covers and began tucking herself in while talking to Spike.

Orion had run into the basement very quickly, confusing his guests. Bucky and Peach Cobbler both knew that when it came to Orion, trouble usually followed things like this. Whatever was going on in his head was most likely worth seeing, so the two Crusaders chased their friend into the former-lab. Where the basement once was the headquarters for Twilight Sparkle's scientific discoveries, it was not used as much as it once was and had now become more of an archive of data and experiments rather than an active station. Its purpose, however, did not alter the feeling of wonder and amazement the two ponies always experienced when rummaging through them. Shelf after shelf was filled to the brim with books of many colors and sizes and countless documents laid organized in drawers and bins before them. Regardless of the room's organization, there was not as much space left, but Twilight always refused to get rid of any

There wasn't much in common between the impoverished lower-class of planet Earth, and the crew of an Ancient starship on the other side of the universe. The only thing these two groups had was this: They both had no idea where their next meal would come from.
Tight rationing had already begun on the Destiny, which meant the crew was irritable and hungry, and it was times like these that the ship's military personnel kept busy.
Scott and Greer ran down the corridor, straight to the mess hall, where the sounds of yelling and clattering dishware originated.
They quickly tried to separate Morrison and Becker.
"HEY!" Scott yelled. He forced the two crew members apart, and just as Morrison was about to turn on the lieutenant, Greer reacted quickly, pulling out his service pistol, and aiming right at the doctor's head.
"Just try it," he said.
"Sergeant?" the lieutenant said.
Greer slowly lowered his gun.
Scott turned to Becker.

It was going to be a perfectly normal day for Pinkie Pie; in other words, it was going to be anything but normal. Today was simply going to be a little freakier than normal.
She was happily bouncing towards Sweet Apple Acres, wondering what Applejack was doing. Hopefully nothing that was too much work, that would be boring! Although maybe she could make it less so... or maybe she could turn Applejack's work into a game! That would be so much fun! Of course, if Applejack wasn't doing anything, then she could have even more fun! But even if she didn't want to do anything with Pinkie, then maybe she could have an adventure with Apple Bloom and her friends! Oh that would be so much- twitchy tail!
Pinkie stopped. Something was about to fall, so she had to get out of the way before-
The source of the voice was right above Pinkie, so she ran out of the way just as something big, brown, fuzzy, and vaguely Draconian, with a mass of purple hair fell where she had
