Kevin's Inevitable Return to VillainyFor all you Kevin Levin fans out there, I'm sure you've noticed that Kevin has undergone a severe character regression. In Ben 10: Alien Force and Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Kevin slowly and steadily began to reform to the point that he has become a true hero. In the abomination known as Ben 10: Omniverse, however, Kevin is now a selfish coward who cares more about his car than Ben, who he left to deal with Princess Looma. I bet you're wondering what Kevin's future holds in store for him, and I have terrible news (the following information came from a chat I had with SilverLady7, the founder of the Ben 10 Original Series to Ultimate Alien group, a group that supports everything about Ben 10 excluding Omniverse, which they criticize in a civilized manner);Kevin's Inevitable Return to Villainy1 year ago in Personal More Like This
It's a foreshadowing of what Omniverse intends to do to Kevin...make him a villain like he was in the original series, but poorly written. I have 2 pieces of evidence that supports my theory;
1. Derrick J. Wyatt was asked if Kevin was a
My DeviantART StoryI had been aware of deviantART’s existence for years and years before actually joining. I think I first saw a link there when I was browsing someone’s personal website and they mentioned they had an account in a big art site. I visited it but didn't understand a bit about how it worked or what was it’s purpose. Slowly, as I became a bit better (or at least less awful) at understanding English, I started to figure it out and became curious. I was afraid of joining for a long time because I knew it might result someone misusing my art, which was the absolute worst thing. I also knew that my English was far from fluent, and internet can be surprisingly harsh towards those who don’t speak English as their first language. I was terrified of writing descriptions to my pieces, because they had to be understandable for people all around the world and I simply lacked words. My DeviantART Story8 months ago in Art Features More Like This

Ben 10 Omniverse: I've Had ItI don't think I should be a Ben 10 fan anymore. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I just think Omniverse sucks so bad. The main character Ben Tennyson is such a fucking moron, it's unimaginable. And do you know the sucky part? I don't think Cartoon Network gives a shit. I can write how much I hate the Ben 10 sequel shows all I like, but no matter what I'll always find some fans who think Ultimate Alien was awesome or Alien Force was cool or Omniverse is the greatest show ever. I feel like it's a losing battle. I was a little excited when I heard about a new Ben 10 comic series from IDW but when I saw an Omniverse episode (Rule of Engagement) I just don't know if I'm going to pick up a copy. What do you think? Please leave a comment if you think my outburst was justified or if I'm being an idiot.Ben 10 Omniverse: I've Had It2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Remaining Hope in Ben 10I've made it pretty clear that I hate Ben 10: Omniverse for the damage it is causing to the Ben 10 franchise, with my major issues being that Omniverse shows little respect to Dwayne McDuffie's contributions, the numerous retcons damaging the continuity (which was perfectly fine, Omniverse executives) of the Ben 10 franchise, the derailment of Ben Tennyson to be more like his original series' self (despite being a teenager now) and the ongoing attempt to make Kevin a villain again by slowly derailing his character until the Rooters unleash Weapon XI, which I am convinced will be Kevin, the horrific implications caused by the universal recreation (I think the Petrosapiens are now dead since Chromastone's flight ability has been retconned as a glitch, meaning Sugilite couldn't have gotten to Petropia's remains to restore it in time), and overall terrible writing (I'm looking at you, Rules of Engagement). As someone who has followed Ben 10 since the original series, Omniverse is even moreRemaining Hope in Ben 101 year ago in Personal More Like This
Ben 10 OmniverseI liked The first Ben 10 series. The Second series was good Ben was a little more mature and was shown to have some hidden intelligence. and Kevin became a good guy. And the story in general became darker and edgier and more interesting. The third series ok, the whole ultimate alien transformation was kinda campy.Ben 10 Omniverse2 years ago in Personal More Like This
But Ben 10 Omniverse series Ben has taken a huge Level in Dumbass as well as general flanderistion, and has become too dumb to live and Lethally Stupid, granted he was always a Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass but now they over did it . In fact it's a wonder how Ben as not destroyed the world yet. and Ben has become extremely cocky and arrogant just downright annoying. A another thing in the original series Ben did most of the fighting himself occasionally getting some help from Max or Gwen, but in Omniverse Ben is comply helpless without Took or someone watching his back all the time (or adlest it was that way in early episodes of Omniverse) Rook even lampshades this.
Ben 10 Omniverse: Rules of Engagement- My ThoughtsSo. I'm watching the Ben 10 Omniverse episode where Julie FINALLY comes back after 20+ episodes of being gone.... And she broke up with Ben. Off-screen. In a flashback.Ben 10 Omniverse: Rules of Engagement- My Thoughts2 years ago in Personal More Like This
This. Is such a waste of a character like Julie. She was FINALLY getting some good character development in the previous season. She was shown to be able to deal with Ben very well, and was very close to him, Gwen, and Kevin (well, Kevin somewhat). And she just disappears, only to reappear BROKEN UP WITH BEN AND WITH A NEW BOYFRIEND. WHAT THE HELL, WRITERS. WHAT THE HELL. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT CHARACTERS.
Yea, I know there wasn't really a chance of their relationship lasting for very long, but for it to unceremoniously end just like that, and without any true mention about until this episode, JUST MAKES IT SO FREAKING AGGRAVATING. It had its problems, like any other real relationship, but they understood each other, and really did care about one another. For goodness, THEY'VE FOUGHT VILLAINS TOGETHER BEFORE.

Omniverse takes place in an Alternate Universe !?!Ever since Omniverse first aired, I've sometimes wondered if the events in Omniverse are taking place in an ALTERNATE UNIVERSE. I mean it is possible given the following reasons why.Omniverse takes place in an Alternate Universe !?!8 months ago in Personal More Like This
My first evidence is that the title of the show is called omniverse, which is an actual theory of their being more then one universe, each one having minor to major differences, which also explains why things are different in Omniverse then in the other Ben 10 shows, kinda secretly giving us the clue that OV is in a different universe. My second fact is how they pronounce Albedo's name in Omniverse, in AF/UA they pronounce his name Al-bee-do but in OV they say it as al-bay-do , the only logical way you can go from calling someones name differently is if that person had that name since birth, also Albedo never showed signs of being disturbed by the mispronunciation or points out to people that they were pronouncing his name wrong. The third is how n
Nasty Newscast:Ben 10: Omniverse is terribleHello readers, man its been ALONG time since my last newscast but I've been meaning to do a journal about Omniverse for awhile now. I grew up watching Ben 10 since it aired in 2005, at that time it was a cool show, but when Alien Force came out I got into the show again and thought it was better then Ben 10 because of the new drama and action. Then when Ultimate Alien came out with the similar elements but with Ben's Ultimatrix, my interest of the show went up a whole level. But then my love for the show was diminished when the directors of the show directors decided to change almost EVERYTHING that makes Ben 10 and aired Omniverse. The show, in my opinion, was terrible, I hate it as much as most of the Total Drama fandom hated All Stars (which was most of the fan base).Nasty Newscast:Ben 10: Omniverse is terrible10 months ago in Literature Features More Like This

Ben 10 Reboot: Redemption CrossoverWith how bad Omniverse has become in the wake of the Duel of the Duplicates event, and with inspiration from Darinas, I have recently begun planning a fanfic that will reboot the Ben 10 franchise. This story is called Ben 10 Reboot: Redemption Crossover, and it will be a tribute to and a retelling of the Ben 10 mythos. Here are some important factors of this series.Ben 10 Reboot: Redemption Crossover1 year ago in Personal More Like This
1. While it takes place during summer like the original show, Ben and Gwen are 15 rather than 10, and Kevin is 16 rather than 11.
2. Julie is a main character, having been invited to join the Tennysons on their summer roadtrip.
3. The Omnitrix's design is a combination of the prototype Omnitrix, the recalibrated prototype Omnitrix, the Ultimatrix, and the Omnitrix. The Omnitrix is also sentient, serving as a guide for Ben.
4. The starter aliens are Humungousaur, Swampfire, Spidermonkey, Big Chill, Cannonbolt, Echo Echo, Wildmutt, Grey Matter, Arctiguana, Gravattack, and XLR8.
5. There will be crossovers with series that hav

I Dreamed a Dream (parody)I made my best, but had to cut off the first part, like in Susan Boyles version.I Dreamed a Dream (parody)2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When fun was high
And Ben 10 worth watching
I dreamed that Gwevin would never die
I dreamed that CN would be forgiving
Then I was optimistic and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No joke unsaid, no smoothie untasted
But Derrick J. Wyatt comes at night
With his ego as big as a mountain
As he tears your hope apart
As he turns your dream to shame
And still I dream Kevin'll come back to me
That he and Gwen will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are stupid people we cannot weather
I had a dream Ben 10 would be
So different from this hell we´re living
So different now from what Omniverse is
Now CN has killed the dream I dreamed.
The Kevin part is confusing, I know - I meant I still dream Kevin will come back the way he was in UAF, or at least ressembling these good old times, in another cart

Why I Despise OmniverseI've mentioned Ben 10: Omniverse a lot but I've never did a journal entry on how much I don't like it. Here's why.Why I Despise Omniverse9 months ago in Personal More Like This
New design - Reason: I've never liked the design because it's just too campy and also I would've watched the show if the design from Alien Force/Ultimate Alien remained. Come on, Ben being a 60's Dick Grayson guy, Gwen being a Velma Dinkley ripoff and Kevin being an Eric Draven ripoff?!Replacing Glen Murakami and the late Dwayne McDuffie with Derrick Wyatt and Matt Youngberg - Reason: Murakami and McDuffie made Ben Tennyson from a foolish hero to more Clark Kent from Smallville-esque character, but Matt Youngberg and Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated and Transformers Animated art director and producer Wyatt "flanderised" the character into an idiot hero. Just no to idiot heroism because those two guys (Murakami and McDuffie) worked with Man of Action for the DCAU-influenced two sequel series and made it mor

what i'd like to do is "host" a big ol' collab picture that includes a lot of artists. this will give artists exposure to others and vice versa, from their point of view. also, it is fun!!
what i am planning to do is make a template sheet and paste pictures you guys send to me onto it, hence me acting as a "host". to give you some ideas, i'll start to explain what i would like to do. this will be a large picture that looks like a "select your fighter" screen, like this:
that is the basic idea, but i would like to add a few things. first off, there will be enough space for you to show more than your character's head. let's say...

under that, i will add your character's name
under their name, i will add a catchy sorta nickname for them, specific to th
Omniverse review: Blucik and Driba go to MrSmoothyTo put it simply: this episode was horrible. Even by Omniverse standards. And it brought ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to the plot.Omniverse review: Blucik and Driba go to MrSmoothy2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The episode follows to sides of the story: on one side, you have Ben and Rook with trying to take down Trumpibulor. For those who don't remember (not that I would blame them for that), Trumpibulor was a villain introduced in Ultimate Alien. He had no characteristic beside the fact that he was an Elephant-like alien criminal, and appeared only for two small cameo as a minor villain that Ben, Gwen and Kevin could apparently defeat easily. To my opinion, that guy was even lamer than Serpent.
And yet, for some reason, Derrick J. Wyatt thought it was a good idea to bring this guy back and make an entire episode focused on him.
Why? Seriously, why? I just don't get his logical: Aggregor, one of the most badass and memorable villains in Ultimate Alien, is out of question to be br

Sadly, I'm just expecting Omniverse to make Kevin a villain again.
I mean, Omniverse undid Charmcaster's character development because Derrick J. Wyatt, and I took this from TV Tropes but DJW believes this, said he didn't think Charmcaster becoming a "homicidal maniac who is obsessed with her father and from a race of magic space elves" worked at all, that it ruined everything that was special about her in the Original Series.
Yeah, because a generic evil sorceress is so much better than a character who LOST HER FATHER TO THE CRUELTY OF AN EVIL TYRANT AND IS TRYING TO ATONE FOR THE GENOCIDE SHE COMMITTED TO TRY TO BRING BACK HER FATHER BECAUSE SHE MISSED HIM! No, we need Charmcaster to be craz

Quick Tips: On Referencing AnatomyReference from real life whenever possible.Quick Tips: On Referencing Anatomy3 years ago in Personal More Like This
When you reference or copy from another artist's studies/sketches/art, you may be copying their mistakes as well. Furthermore, an artist's studies are their notes and --just like with history or chemistry notes-- copying someone else's notes will not help you fully understand the material. To completely understand anatomy, you must take your own notes and build your own understanding through observation.
This is probably a no-brainer for many artists but... scruffynerfherder and I were talking about this last night, and with the increase of "anatomy studies" showing up on dA's front page, it's been on my mind. DA's resource category has some great material, but I also feel like there is a lot of misleading information taught by amateurs who really probably shouldn't be teaching things like shading or anatomy, because they have a less-than-stellar grasp on it themselves. I'm not trying to knock anyone here, but it's a bit tr

As apparent from my absence in the last few issues of Supergirl I am no longer the series artist on the book. I will no longer be drawing the book and #20 was my final issue. I will however remain the cover artist on the book for just a few more issues.
What kept me from drawing the book initially was some health issues after which I had to rest for a bit. In the meantime I was offered some other projects which I took into consideration. Offers that ultimately had me make some important decisions. Unfortunately one of these decisions was to resign from art duties on Supergirl. Believe me, It was not an easy decision but one I had to make for the sake of several things in my career and life.
Over the past couple of years I've had an amazing time defining Supergirl for the New 52 with my collaborators in DC Entertainment. It was an honour to be a part of this bold new direction for DC. I was probably among the lucky few who had a wonderful

Liam Sharp was and is one of the most sought after comic artists in the business. After bursting on the scene by drawing the bestselling Marvel UK title of all time, Death Head II, he was back in America illustrating top line comics like Superman, Batman and Spiderman as well as special projects for people like Stan Winston. For anyone unfamiliar with his amazing work, his galleries can be found on deviantART. I recently got lost for an entire day perusing a single file of his Conan illustrations.
