Quick tutorial I made on how I color eyes these days. People seemed to like my page of eyes, and I liked drawing 'em, so I thought why not make a tutorial. The result is a bit different than the method I used for those eyes, but the method is generally the same, just different tools and layer order. All of the layers on this, except the first color layer, are on top of the layer stack. This makes an interesting balance between the lineart and the color, I think. As well as stylized and realistic. Mainly for SAI, but can be used in Photoshop as well, just exchange the Luminosity layer for Screen or Color Dodge. Someday I may go back and put text in place of my shitty handwriting.... Feel free to let me know if it's helpful, or if you have questions. And I'm kinda working on other tutorials, so if you have a request for that lemme know. :3
Some more notes I did during a private tutoring session, so I thought I'd throw it up on DA. Sorry it's all scattered. I just jot down doodles and notes while I teach verbally, so I had to find a way to make it look somewhat tutorialy for deviantart XD Enjoy!
This is my first tutorial, so I'm sorry if it's a little hard to understand. Let me know if you have any questions. I really hope this tutorial was helpful. Results can easily be replicated in Photoshop. Please don't forget to fave if this was useful to you <3
edit: Oh goshh I can't believe the attention this is getting! It's obviously not required, but I'd really love to see what you can do with this tutorial! <3
I was wondering for the past month, "How can I make the lines of line art colorful like this? [link]". And then today, I got an idea, and it worked!!! So rather than working on my English paper or studying for my math test tomorrow or for my French quiz or my Chemistry test, I drew this up (I'll be up late studying tonight...). Maybe I'll make a picture with this technique at some point...
Line art found here: [link] (I do not own it). Ahh, I love Brown Cow yogurt.
Alas, the long awaited fur tutorial is finished! It only took 5ever but I finally got it done. I don't really consider myself an expert on this subject but quite a few people have asked me to do this so I guess I must be doing something right! xD
I was originally going do a stylization tutorial next but I scrapped the idea cuz there's just waaay too much stuff I hafta go over for that one. ^^' So if I was to do a stylization tutorial I would probably break it off into different subjects haha
I decided to add a little twist to this and added how to stylize fur, cuz I wanna encourage people to find their own unique styles while understanding the basics of course. 8) I hope my poor writing skills make sense to you guys.
I'm not a really confident tutorial maker so if you see that I've said/did something wrong, something doesn't make sense to you, or if you have questions please let me know! C: I'm probably not going to make any more tutorials unless I get multiple requests on a specific subject people would like to see.
If you're interested in other tutorials by me, I also have another tutorial on shading fav.me/d4ot0sn but its kinda outdated since I've resorted to grayscale shading recently.
IN OTHER NEWS, I got a haircut today.
EDIT: sasfgdsh omg oh wow thanks for the DD guise!! ;w;
