The first two chapters basically cover little aspects that you need to know as the story progesses. Please don't let the first two chapter deter you from reading on. Thank you!
"I'm proud of you kid," said Anderson.
"Just remember you were a human before you were a Spectre, you represent all of humanity with your actions," said Udina.
"I won't let you down," said Shepard confidently.
Anderson stepping down and giving Shepard the Normandy? It didn't feel right to her. Pushing papers wasn't his thing but he wanted to give her every chance to succeed in this mission. She knew how much this meant to him and she wasn't going to let

Thane can sense her discomfort when she briefs the team on the mission. A derelict reaper.
She has more experience with reapers than he, and her unease reflects on him. Carefully, she explains that she’s chosen only her most reliable crew members for this mission: himself and Garrus.
“Reapers have this effect called indoctrination,” Shepard continues. “I won’t get into the details but basically the more time we spend inside that thing, the more pull it has on our minds. We need to get in and get what we need as quickly as possible.”

He’s with her on the bridge when the ancient machine comes into view. Broken and floating in orbit, stretched out on it’s side, he has to wonder if it’s actually dead, if a power that immense can ever truly die. In truth, the mission scares him. He’s caught between feeling angry and honored that she’s chosen him

Summary: "Her sweet whispers urge my heart to persist in beating, shield my mind from suffering the toll, bid my flesh to remember our meeting, and write her love all across my soul." As precious time slowly ticks away, Thane and Shepard share one last night of intimacy before going off to their respective fates.
The silence and stillness of the inpatient wing fed the wrenching in her gut as she crept with soundless footsteps through the dark. Her ears caught the faint hum of machinery and the soft voices of the medical staff from the lab services behind her, allowing her to estimate the distance she'd covered from the entrance. Shepard stepped inside the elevator and hit the Crew Deck's button. After only a few hours of preparing their mission, she had found herself out of work: Cerberus was doing almost everything in her place, finding the resources they needed, analyzing the data she found, upgrading their weaponry The young woman found that extremely frustrating: with Malira she was used to having her hands full with work, to giving the orders, even as she remained the anonymous leader of the organization. She knew Cerberus did this to make sure Shepard would not end up poking her nose too deep into their business and she could not blame them for being careful; after all she had been transmitting the coordinates of all their destinations to Malira who always ended up dispat

She arrives on an humble civilian transport to Kahje, alone, choosing to wait in customs with the rest of the passengers. Normal, just like everyone else.
Today is a day for mourning, for remembering, for honoring the lost. She stands on the rainy shores where his last rites were spoken, her desert willow flowers looking wilted from their long journey.
It's been six years since he passed. She's almost glad there is no headstone, no ashes, nothing for her to see except endless grey ocean. If there were anything left of him, if she should see him now, all the scars on her heart would be torn anew. Yes, what he said was right. Time has eased the memory of his passing. She has no tears now, not after so long, not after so many exhausting spent nights weeping at the loss of his warmth. But her heart is sore, and she will never forget the first man she truly loved.

"Javik, I'm going now."
Liara was dressed for a night out of the house. Her outfit was simple. It did not show excess skin, contrary to the popular style of the day, but the wine colored cloth fit snugly against her body. Javik stood defiantly in the middle of the room, his hand balled into a fist to keep it from reaching out and running along the curve of her hip.
He would treat this like any other battle. And he refused to show weakness.
"This is a pointless activity," he said firmly.
In his own cycle, people would back down when he used that voice. But Liara only fought back harder. She stood just out of his reach, placing her own hands on her hips. "Shepard and Tali will be here for only a few more days, and Tali needs to relax. This is her first night out without her family since the baby came." Her voice was calm and quiet, using the same tone she used when explaining something to their children.
Javik stole a quick glance behind him at the two girls playing happily tog

- Thank you, Captain, and thank you for your help on this, Shepard, Thane concluded gratefully, if a bit wearily.
However the young woman was still thinking about the confused youngster who would spend the night in some crappy cell at C-Sec, and the more the idea insinuated inside her the more she hated it. She had helped the father, sure, but still did not feel satisfied with the son's situation, despite getting his penalty reduced to community service. She knew, for having been through this kind of mess, that if no one threw Kolyat a line at some point, he would lose his way. Not all people, especially the young, were able to build themselves alone.
It was no longer a favor to Thane. It was about doing something for a

"Save your lives?"Shepard asked carefully, raising a puzzled eyebrow.
The blonde sitting comfortably across from her nodded, seemingly indifferently tucking a lock of her long hair behind her ear. "You are in the business of saving people, Commander; not asking you to do something all that extraordinary".
Shepard scoffed. "I am really in no mood for games and with every passing moment, what patience I have mustered is dissipating rapidly," she said sharply, stealing a glance towards the new dark monitors across the room. Seeing Thane had cracked her wall of strict self control, not to mention her determination to keep a cool head in this, she was well aware. She was just about to tell this Elena person to get on with it and name her terms; only she knew that sort of reaction would put her directly in the Cerberus' operative's power and she knew she couldn't afford that.
She forced herself to draw in a deep breath, acutely aware of Elena watching her

Still sat on the briefing room floor, Shepard reasoned that she would have to leave at some point. Unfortunately. She had gotten quite comfortable. And may have fallen asleep for a few moments.
Ah well, she thought, I guess I'll go get ready then. She had mixed feelings. On the one hand, she didn't want to see Thane, let alone spend time pretending to be his girlfriend. Not right now, it was too embarrassing. She didn't want to make a fool of herself. But, on the other hand, she couldn't wait. Hell, if she couldn't be his real girlfriend, why not just enjoy playing pretend?
But what should I wear? She thought as she dawdled towards the lift. What do clubbers wear? Could I get away with combat boots? Probably not.
I have nothing sexy. Should I be considering something sexy? As she trudged out of the lift, into her cabin, she was surprised to see Tali and Kasumi were already there, and her bed was covered in clothes.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought I was in my quarters," Shepard said

They’re huddled together on a swinging porch chair, an old earth antiquity type thing that is apparently a novelty among tourists. Shepard has one toe on the floorboards beneath them, idly pushing them into motion when their swinging slows time and again.
Her eyes are as wide as saucers.
There’s nothing but the sound of the sea, the pattering of rain against sand and the static curtain that pops and zips quietly beneath each falling drop.
Eventually, she stands.
“I still can’t believe this, you know? Sometimes I forget that rain is something that happens. Sometimes I forget about weather entirely. Have you ever thought about it?” She gestures out at the darkening sky, the last remaining rays of light filtering through heavy cloud cover a

“Thane? Cuddlebutt? Love of my life? Can I ask you something?”
Thane smiled to himself over his tea as Shepard came padding into the kitchen. He hadn’t needed to understand a thing about Earth cultures to know that when she addressed him this way, she was going to ask him for something.
To her credit, however, it wasn’t often that she actually did ask him for something. Thane learned that human women were apparently infamous for being high maintenance, but Shepard appeared to be the exception to the rule. He supposed it was her background as a military child that allowed her to appreciate the simple things in life.
“Yes, Siha?” He listened with curiosity for her response.
She was looking at a video of something on her omni-tool. “Can we… can we get a puppy?” She looked up at him, turning the display so he could see.
On the video were a few small dogs,

Dr. Chakwas appeared, "What the hell happened Mr. Krios?!" She exclaimed as she half carried the commander inside.

So, this is an unusual departure for me. I am on my third run of ME3 and I was staring at my FemShep who is romancing Garrus and I finally figured something out about her. I don't know why I figured this out about her but I did at like 9 morning it wasn't intentional but I just looked at her, the way I played the game, and I came up with why she acts this way in my head. I'm not trying to be ground breaking or a revolutionary with this. Hell I'm probably taking a great risk posting this the way it is. And this is why Bioware is so awesome because they gave us something that could inspire this, though the thought on closure is rather uh...yeah. This is my MAIN FemShep and I have 4 more FemSheps and six MSheps. Each one unique and varied but for her I just realized this is why she fights, is a kind soul, and does what she does the way she does it and I just wanted to

Her vision blurred and she stumbled to her knees. She gasped in pain. Her scorched armor held little protection now, her blood flowing freely onto the cold ground before her. No. Not yet. She was not done yet.
The sting of threatening tears marred her eyes. She wanted to violently swipe them away, yet, she couldn’t bring her hand to do more than grip her pistol.
The synthetic taking on the form of a child simply watched and waited. It was patient. She would love nothing more than to put a bullet between it’s eyes right now.

Brina Shepard never knew how to react to Omega. She hated its filthiness, but a small part of her loved it. Made her feel like she was back in Earth's underground helping the Reds gain more territory in the slums, inch by bloody inch. It was the closest feeling to homesickness Shepard ever got, which probably made her a freak. As she browsed the seedy market she examined the poverty. Batarians and Vorcha scattered about, some lying in their own filth. She recalled Jacob making a remark of how he hated Omega leaving the bodies in the streets...but Shepard actually admired the place for it. Where other cities tried to cover up the darker sides of city life Omega was brutally honest which was probably one of the reasons why it was so disliked, you could comfortably walk the streets of Illium safe in your illusion that nothing was wrong in the world, but on Omega you had to face the fact that folks were starving and dying and there wasn't much you could do for them. Garrus let out a low growl of frustration as his hand slid down and away from the door. He turned to call the elevator and as the doors slid open he mentally went over what he planned for the day: breakfast with Solana, talk to Chakwas and maybe, if he was lucky, he could nail a few minutes with Anderson. He stepped off the elevator and turned toward the direction of the Crew's Quarters. He had a few minutes before he had to get ready to meet Solana and, knowing her, she would probably be late anyway. The doors slid open and his Turian nose immediately picked up the scent of booze, sweat and the stench of vomit. Apparently, the rest of the crew had continued the party after coming
