Sasha's Spa TreatmentThe automatic doors making up the entrance of Shirley's Toon Spa glided open as Sasha approached them. The trip from Toonville to Flat Ridge had been quite a lengthy one, and although this spa apparently had a stellar reputation, she hadn't really planned to come and try it out until she'd gotten that gift certificate for it in the mail.
Sasha was a human girl, almost twenty years of age, with two pink ponytails on either side of her head, an above-average breast size, and white-and-blue clothing that somehow passed for a schoolgirl outfit. Below her blue skirt she wore striped pink-and-white stockings and red shoes.
In front of her, a white anthro lioness stood behind the counter. The two of them made eye contact as Sasha approached.
"Welcome to Shirley's Toon Spa. My name is Alicia. Will this be appointment or walk-in?"
"Uh... walk-in, I guess. I have a gift certificate."
Sasha took the gift certificate out of her pocket and set it on the counter. Alicia examined it, then care

The silver panther had only intended to run down to the grocery store for a few things, but on the way there he'd taken a wrong turn and wound up who-knows-where. How he'd even done that, considering the grocery store was just down the street from his home and practically unmissable, was a mystery.
Still, here he was. He'd decided to take a shortcut down an alley, wondering if he'd see his home again before tomorrow morning.
Brian looked up. A female cheetah, bright yellow with black spots, was leaning against the wall nearby with folded arms. She was buxom and quite attractive, with brown eyes, and wore a magenta latex bodysuit with no apparent way to remove, plus a decorative orange ribbon of questionable origin around the end of her tail. A close examination of her forehead (if one could manage to look there) would reveal two spots in the shape of a question mark.
"Psst," she said again. "I'm
Pool Party -Trade-The pool party was that afternoon, and Lizzie and Abbe still hadn't been able to secure a good pool toy for the occasion. "Stop stalling, Abbe!" Lizzie moped as the two of them scanned the shelves of one last sporting goods store. "Let's just pick one and get it over with!"
"It's the middle of summer, Lizzie," the blue wolf reminded her twin sister. "If it were good someone would've bought it by now. You were the one who thought it could wait until the last minute."
"Well, if all else fails..."
"We've been over this already. Big, round balloons don't make good pool toys. Besides, the last time we tried it I kept tipping upside-down and getting water up my nose."
Abbe turned around to scour the shelves again... and caught sight of something behind all the inflatables she'd deemed too ugly. Rushing in, she dug through and uncovered i
Laundry Wringer -Kane-Wow. So Indigo really DID get one of these things.Laundry Wringer -Kane-4 years ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
In Indigo's front yard, Kane inspected the electric laundry wringer that had been installed the day before. He ran his right hand over one of the two spotless metallic rollers the wringer's body contained.
Doesn't turn? ...Ah, of course. They're hooked to a motor.
Kane's attention fell quickly to the control switch on the side of the wringer, which was currently resting in the middle of three possible positions. The area just above the switch was marked with the word "OFF", with two arrows pointing to the left and right.
The wolf experimentally flicked the switch to the left with his other hand, and the wringer hummed to life. The top roller turned clockwise, the bottom roller anticlockwise, guaranteed to wring anything that passed between them.
Unfortunately, Kane hadn't thought to take his hand off the rollers first.
The sudden feeling of extreme pressure

It wasn't a particularly busy day at the White Devil Laundromat. Kane himself didn't have any laundry to wash; he'd just come in because he needed a place to sit and think.
He glanced over the laundry pressers, each one as large as a twin-sized bed. He was always rather apprehensive about those things, for reasons that should be easy to guess for those familiar with him and the sort of situations he got into on a regular basis.
Wait... one of the pressers was closed, and unattended. That didn't make sense; they were always supposed to be left open when not in use, and they didn't run for long enough that anybody would have a reason to leave them unattended.
Curious, Kane opted to investigate. He walked up to the closed presser and heaved it open to see what if anything had been left inside it.
What greeted him was the face of a familiar red robin,

Moment of Pause -Kane-The interior of Diamond's house was fairly upper-class, despite being the same on the outside as any other house on the street. The den in particular had "posh" written all over it: a high-quality plasma TV, a sofa with cushions so soft a person could drown in them, thick red carpeting, trophies of various animal heads lining the walls, and a white mink rug occupying a blank spot in the center of the room.Moment of Pause -Kane-3 years ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
The last of these was actually a very recent addition by the current resident, Indigo. Its true identity was that of Diamond, the house's actual owner and occupant; recent events involving the mink being a total @!%#$ to Indigo and her friends had led to the current situation. Interestingly enough, she blended perfectly with the room's decor.
Right now, Indigo herself was leaning against the back of the sofa, fiddling with a ring on her finger. This ring was a special magic ring owned by Diamond, and a partial cause of the entire mess.

As she bent over to pick up the clothes, she heard the sound of someone fumbling with the front door. Smiling to herself, she figured it was Jennifer, and began to make her way over, forgetting the clothes for now.
However as Jasmine got closer to the door, she noticed a bit of an odor. The odor was quite strong, but it didn't deter her as she opened the door.
"Hahahah, t-thanks Jasmine, I was uh, having trouble with the door again." Replied the woman who stood on the other end of the door. It was Jennifer, a 6 ft 2 inch tall muscular woman, with long green hair. However she also was covered in sweat, and was clearly the where the odor was coming from.

It was laundry day. Down in the basement, an orange teenaged cat stood in front of the washing machine, looking down into a basket of dirty clothes. She grinned as she took each article of clothing out of the basket, inspected them, and tossed them into the washing machine.
Behind her, someone lurked. Just behind a stack of boxes of forgotten Christmas decorations and old baby books and photo albums, a small red cat peered towards the orange cat. Slowly, and quietly, the red cat crept out from behind the boxes, getting into the right position to pounce. Then, with all the grace and speed of a cat, he launched himself towards the teenager, landing on her shoulders and cupping his paws over her eyes.
"Guess who!" He challenged her, playfully.
The teenage cat continued to smile. "Let's see, could it be my little brother, Adam?"
"You got it!" He shouted, jumping down onto the floor.
The young cat was about a third of the larger cat's size. It was hard to tell that they're related, with one

The magician pulled the sheet off with a flourish, revealing not an empty tank of water, but a tank of water containing a swimming Jessica Alba, wearing a powder blue swimsuit and waving to the crowd.
The magician undid the lock
Payback Time -Kane-Heh... Indigo will never know what hit her.Payback Time -Kane-4 years ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
After a recent incident where Indigo had crushed him flat and made him into a sunshade for her car's windshield, Kane had finally decided to draw the line. He'd spent the past month planning his revenge against her, and now it was time.
Kane had enlisted Red's help in giving Indigo what she deserved; the robin had agreed to help largely because the plan would involve a bit of physical compression on her part, if you get my drift. Now the wolf and robin stood together at Indigo's doorstep. Red rang the front doorbell while Kane slipped around back.
A moment later, Indigo opened the door. "Oh, hi, Red. What brings you here? ...Wait, I can guess. You want me to..."
"Yep. I got a little bored, so I thought I'd come down early this week. Say, what have you been working on recently?"
"I've been crafting some new molds for the furnace.

Outside, a ladder gently settled against the wall underneath her very open window, and the silhouette of Kane scaled it by the light of a single burning candle. Said candle was one of the transformative incensed ones he'd received from Maki and Suki the other day, so it kept him in the form of a life-size plush toy as he went.
It hadn't immediately occurred to him, but being a living plush doll made Kane the ultimate stealth artist. Because his fabric-and-stuffing body was so light, his footsteps made practically no noise. The absence of voice or breath didn't hurt, either.
Kane stepped into Indigo's room and gently placed the candle-holder down on her dresser. The flickering light did little to illuminate the room, but he could see Indigo's face easily.
Within minutes, the candle worked its magic and transformed Indigo's body into a plushy state si

The wolf twins Lizzie and Abbe sat on opposite ends of a table out on their back porch. A week ago, Lizzie had insisted on picking out this particular table-and-chairs set because it matched her green fur; the problem was that today they were expecting a third party, and didn't have a chair to spare.
"C'mon, Abbe! There's gotta be a way to make it work. We didn't invite Tom over just to turn him away because he doesn't have a place to sit."
Lizzie got to her feet and studied the bright green chair she'd been sitting on. Confused, Abbe stood up and made her way around the table to stand beside her sister.
"What are you thinking, Lizzie?"
"Well... maybe if we take this chair apart, we can put the pieces back together in such a way that we make TWO chairs. You know, like in that mathematics textbook."
"Lizzie, I don't think that's the way it--"
"I'm gonna try it.

Over the past week, Kane and Red had chatted quite a bit. Somehow, she'd convinced him that he'd enjoy getting squished flat if he just approached it in the right frame of mind. She'd even flattened him a few times herself and he'd gotten to the point where he didn't mind it.
Deep breaths... in... out... in... out. This won't be so bad.
Now, Kane stood in front of Indigo's house. He walked up to it and rang the doorbell. A moment later, she answered.
"Oh! Hello, Kane! What brings you here?"
"Indigo... I've been talking with Red, and... I think she's gotten me to understand a few things..."
Kane was still nervous. Finally he stood firm.
"Indigo, I'm not afraid anymore. Flatten me."
"Flatten me. I can take it. I don't want to run away from you anymore."
Indigo was too surprised t

Ah great. Figures.
"Hi, Kane! Coming around?"
Indigo peered over Kane's head. He tried to get up, but she pushed him back down.
"Now just relax. I'll try to do this quickly."
Great. The rolling pin again. Indigo brandished that instrument of torture in her hands, then applied it to Kane's legs, flattening them out gently.

Trash Compactor -Kane-"Alright, Indigo-- what was it you wanted me to come over to see?"Trash Compactor -Kane-4 years ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
Kane had very reluctantly accepted an invitation from Indigo to come over to her house to see something. He didn't want to, but his friends had convinced him it'd be rather impolite to turn her down.
Indigo led Kane into her kitchen, where a tall, metallic cabinet-like thing stood against the wall. She opened it up, revealing an inner chamber protected by glass. A piston dominated the ceiling of the chamber, and shortly below it a hatch was built into the glass.
"...What exactly IS that?"
"It's a trash compactor. I just had it installed, and I'm about to try it out for the first time."
Kane didn't like where this appeared to be headed, but he breathed a small sigh of relief when Indigo left and returned with a bag full of trash. She opened a hatch at the top of the compactor's enclosure and poured the bag's contents in.
"Alright, Kane. Here goes nothing!"

Kane eyed his robin friend with a visible air of nervousness. The two of them were standing in the bathroom together, in front of an empty bathtub that had the plug in. A series of air vents lined the wall above the tub, currently off and controlled by a dial on the wall.
"You enjoyed the sauna, didn't you, Kane? Work your way up. Before you know it you'll be going under Indigo's rolling pin with a smile on your face!"
"...I doubt that, but okay."
The wolf climbed into the bathtub, and Red grasped the dial and turned it up. The vents began to bathe Kane in hot air.
Red kept her hand on the dial as she watched Kane relax in the warmth. Slowly she began to crank it further, increasing the heat.
"I'll be safe, right? You won't pull the plug or anything?"
"Don't be ridiculous! Nothing's going to happen to you or my name's not Red!"

As soon as she got through the nasty crust of junk, she got out her lock picks from a pouch on her belt and went to work on the lock. This part was easier. She knew all the tricks for opening old locks, and opening a lock forty feet above the sidewalk just made it more fun. Fifteen seconds of work got the lock open, and then she slowly pried open the window and slipped inside. The window was narrow and didn't open very far, but she was easily slender enough to make it through. She wouldn't have made a very good cat burglar otherwise.
She clung to the rafters and looked out over the massive storehouse, row after row of shelves as far as the eye could see. The place was much bigger than it looked from the outside. It didn't take up too much of the stree
Guide to Enchanted CostumesThank you for purchasing an enchanted costume from Witch's Wardrobe. The costume can be put on just like any other: simply insert your head and limbs into the costume and zip up the zipper on the chest or back. The similarities end there, though: once the costume is fully on, it fuses to your body and the zipper falls off, meaning you now ARE the creature you're dressing up as!Guide to Enchanted Costumes8 months ago in Sketches More Like This
When you want to take the costume off, simply press the zipper back into place. This will reverse the enchantment and separate the costume from its wearer, allowing it to be taken off normally.
Is it safe to wear a costume over another costume?
Yes. In fact, you can stack as many costumes as you want with no ill effects-- just try not to lose track of who you really are!
My zipper got lost or broken! Am I stuck in my costume forever?
Of course not! Costume zippers are interchangeable, and you can buy replacement zippers at any Witch's Wardrobe
The Paladin Costume -Kane-Indigo wasn't actually that bad a person. She was just a little eccentric. The Paladin Costume -Kane-4 years ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
If asked to describe herself, Indigo would say she was mainly into arts and crafts, which was true. She especially liked making things with her own hands, and enjoyed the making significantly more than the having. There was nothing wrong with having a hobby of that nature... as long as you never asked her what her preferred construction materials were.
The renaissance faire was right around the corner. Indigo had chosen to dress up as a paladin for the event, and put her hobbies to use by making her own costume.
It was now the day before the faire, and Indigo's paladin outfit was almost complete. She phoned Kane and asked him to help her put the finishing touches on it; he agreed only because she promised not to flatten him as part of it.

Just a week ago, Kane had returned from the Orient (via the postal service, of course) with a new souvenir: a metal pendant that changed his body into that of a naga-wolf when he wore it. His new form gave him the lower body of a scaly serpent, as well as a jaw that dislocated rather easily to swallow large prey. He'd gotten used to it rather quickly; he'd even fallen asleep in a circular coil on his bed the night before.
Currently, he'd just met up with Red in the park, and she'd asked him to swallow her whole.
"You worry too much," Red assured him. "I got eaten whole when I was in grade school once. Being in someone's stomach is actually very soothing... like a return to the womb, or in my case the egg."
"...Well, if you insist. Just let me coil around you first so I can trip the instincts properly."

Snapdragon was a dark green alligator (or was he a crocodile? Even HE was never sure) with a light green underbelly that extended along his arms and legs. His snout was elongated, and his back bore two vertical columns of slightly longer, black scales. Most distinguishing was his scaly hide, which was incredibly coarse front and back; his scales were so rough they could be used to sand wood.
