Paul worked up a lather in his hands and gently started to wash the rash.
Flakes, like scales, began to slough away.
Underneath whirled a mass of colors. Indigo. Vermilion. Rust. Mahogany. And they were… moving. Swirling. Copulating with each other. Buds of new, unseen colors exploding from the trysts.
It was beautiful. It was obscene. It was spreading.
Submission for Odyssey II Project chapter 1 (winner). Color is kind of my kryptonite. I wrecked three sheets of watercolor paper before I finally got one that I liked.
I'm having a lot of fun working on these submissions though. It's giving me a chance to do some work in a style I don't get to do much, and I'm remembering how much I liked working with ink and how little of that I do anymore these days.
I've said this before during tests, speeches and such, but now I"ll actually mean it. This is madness folks! Joseph Kony is kidnapping young children and turning them away from an actual life to a life of murder, rape and abuse! This man has made empty promises of peace to keep the masses down and quiet only to end up destorying more lives to keep his power. Guys Joseph Kony is a man with a superiorty complex and he will keep feeding it until he's stop. Spread the word and show your support. With any hope it'll all end and those children will be free. Yes I'm thinking mostly of the kids because I babysit a lot of kids part-time and to think about them torn away from their parents because they're forced to kill them... Just please... Show your support however you can so that this man can be brought to justice for every life he's destroyed. Free these innocent lives before they're gone forever...
For those of you that aren't aware, here's more info:
Wednesday Oct. 20 is Spirit Day, the day that the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation is asking people to "Go Purple" to call attention to the deaths of six teenagers who committed suicide after reportedly being taunted because they were gay. - CBS
I personally believe this day goes hand in hand with the It Gets Better Project.
Many LGBT youth can't picture what their lives might be like as openly gay adults. They can't imagine a future for themselves. So let's show them what our lives are like, let's show them what the future may hold in store for them.
Honestly if anybody wants to talk to me about this, please feel free to note me. While I'm certainly no motivational speaker or anything I can lend an ear.
I think Mr. Rogers says it best: You always make each day such a special day. You know how; by just your being you. There's only one person in the whole world like you, and people can like you exactly as you are.
Hang in there! Lots of love and purple today, hell yeah!
