Something was off. That much was for sure. It took Eames a moment or two to realize just exactly what it was, and when he did, he felt silly for not noticing it immediately.
It was silent.
Eames was late for work, and no one had said a word.
"Where's Arthur?" he asked immediately, a smirk playing on his lips. Ariadne was the first to pay him any mind, and all she did was shrug. Was the stick-in-the-mud point man late for work? He hoped he was. To be able to mock his failed perfect attendance would be so sweet he was sure it would give him diabetes.
Yusuf strolled in then, carrying his daily cup of coffee. "Ah, morning, Eames," he greeted.
"Hey, Yusuf, do you know where Arthur is?" Ariadne piped up, apparently as curious as the forger.
"I think Cobb's on the phone with him right now, actually," Yusuf responded, sipping at the coffee before grimacing. It was sad how he was

Tony sighed turning away from his scientific holo-screen, " Why not, not like I have a option when he call anyways.."
" Stark, we have a problem."
" Does S.H.I.E.L.D. ever not have any problems? And who gave you my number?"
"It's Asgard related, thought you might want to take a look at it before I talked to Dr. Banner..."
" Oh him? He's always interested in jobs and assignments, he's especially helpful as long as he doesn't get too frustrated."
Tony had just finished his home/office repairs and was reopening Stark Tower with a bang. Since it was party at his tower it was public, and it was expected that Thor attend, along with the rest of the Avengers.

I am so sorry
I failed you both
I did not keep that promise
I did not protect you
I did not chase away the monsters
I did not scare away the shadows
I did something wrong and only now regret it
I screamed as they said it was you who had to pay
I hugged you close
I said it was all going to be alight
I heard your please
I tried to stop it but could not

Teddy BearFriendship. Nothing else made Loki's mind swim as much as that single word. What defined a true friend? What made these humans crave friendship so greatly? Was it real or nearly another habit the creatures clung to, like brushing their teeth at certain times throughout the day?Teddy Bear2 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
Loki didn't need friends. He had ever had them and he never would.
The Avengers. He was technically a part of them now, but he had never felt so on the outside before, so not belonging with them. (Or anyone, for that matter.) Even he and Thor, who's relationship had been somewhat salvaged, no longer felt genuine. At least, that's what Loki thought about the matter. Loki thought about a lot of things, especially during his daily walks, which, thank you, he preferred to take alone.
On this particular day, he noticed a small child, a girl with blonde hair who couldn't have been older than seven. She had tripped and scraped up her knees pretty badly. The girl's mother held her as she cried, her head resting against

It was cold. So cold in fact that one could see one's breath puff up into the air with every inhale and exhale. But it wasn't the time of year that caused this bitter cold. Oh no, it couldn't be blamed on something as simple as the weather.
No. It was the constant presence of the Dementors that made Azkaban one of the coldest places on the face of the earth. But it wasn't the natural cold that merely made your nose red and your skin freeze; it was the kind of cold that entered the heart and sucked everything inch of warmth from the soul. It was Hell.
Most people have the very wrong perception that Hell is a place where you burn- all fire and brimstone and a little cloven hoofed devil poking you with a pitchfork in your rear at random intervals for the rest of eternity- but this is a lie. Hell is far crueler than that and all the prisoners of Azkaban knew this, for they lived in the wretched place.
Hell is cold. Hell is the place where you relive yo

It was different though: warm and gentle. Cerulean eyes shot wide, racing back and forth in the darkness. Nothing but the sound of Roxas' own heavy breathing filled the room. He was covered in a thin layer of sweat. "axel...?" This time it was much softer, posed as a question. "You called for me in your sleep, my lord," came his answer. "It...was just a dream?" Roxas asked, trying to force his eyes to adjust to the darkness.
"I'm afraid so. It's really not my place to ask, but is something troubling you?" Roxas looked down at his lap,
KH: Days in High School Ch 2Sora sat at his desk, being the first one to make it to Chemistry. As more students started to flow into the room, he anticipated the arrival of his best friend. He didn't want to have to tell him that he was going to have to cancel their plans. At least he hadn't told Kairi yet, so he wouldn't have to make her feel bad or something.
His eyes sifted through the mass of students in identical uniforms until he saw the boy who stood out with his long, silver hair. He came in with his bag over his shoulder, then set it down by the desk in front of Sora's, taking his seat sideways in the chair.
"Hey." He said. "I told Kairi about our plans for tonight."
He sunk into his seat. "Aw, great "

Seriously, couldn't we have entered a competition that didn't involve cheating?" She sighed. "And now I'm monologuing. Great. Maybe I'm just too used to having someone bounce thoughts off of or something..." Namine didn't know how much time had passed, but she was eventually aware that Kairi's body had stopped moving. Namine was also aware that she could see their surroundings again. At first, there didn't seem to be any difference as her entire field of vision was still dark. It took a few moments before she noticed a thin beam of light piercing through the darkness, barely illuminating Kairi's unconscious body. "What is this, a storage closet? Storeroom?" The side of Kairi's face was becoming numb as Sora sat there with his head on the table's surface.

"Please, Kairi? She piqued my interest!"
"If I tell you, will you stop nagging me?!" Kairi demanded. Tidus nodded enthusiastically making Kairi sigh. "Okay, look. It's none of your business, but if you must know..." Kairi glanced around nervously. "Basically, I'm wearing this exact same outfit, only it's completely made out of black leather, right?" She indicated the outfit her original body was wearing. With a serene grin, the guard looked over at the silver-banged girl that he was leading. She hadn't said much other than "Mm-hm" and "Nuh-uh." It was quite clear that she wasn't really paying attention to his bravado, but he was so absorbed in spurting out his ego that the man didn't notice. "I think we should abandon the plan," Kairi stated. The boys gaped at her in astonishment.
Riku gave her a quizzical look. "Abandon..."
"...the plan?" Pence finished.
Kairi sighed. "I mean, look at us. We're so obsessed over trying to get revenge that we've basically wasted the entire day plotting instead of prepping Sora a bit more." She shook her head in disappointment. "And let's be honest, he needs all the help he can get."

He slowly pushed the door open. Beside him, Russia's face betrayed no sense of worry or fear, despite that there was a good chance the monster was inside this room somewhere.
"Lead the way," Russia said. "You're the one who wanted to come here."

He stopped in front of the table and deposited the pile of papers Italy had grabbed as he was escaping among the many other papers covering the surface.

"So that's what you meant by solving a riddle," he remarked.
"That's right," China confirmed. "These papers are all written in Russian. The others didn't notice, but I recognized your handwriting immediately. So tell me. What are they?"
"Why should I tell you?" Russia wondered.

The teenager called Michael lay on the ground unmoving. After all, he had just been knocked clear across the room by his fiery-tempered girlfriend. A few onlookers watched with concern at his motionless body.
"You think he's okay? That was one wicked punch!"
"He's still breathing, so he can't be dead."
"Eww, what's that smell?"
After a few awkward moments, in one swift motion, Michael's body suddenly bounded up to a standing position, forcing bystanders to jump back in shock.
"Urg..." He spat out the taste of plaster and paint residue from his mouth. "Never gonna get used to that." Cricking his neck a couple of times and brushing himself off, he walked calmly toward the auditorium's doors and down the long aisle to the judge's seats that were set right in front of the stage.
The auditorium itself looked like a typical opera theater. There were three levels of seats and skyboxes were scattered among the walls. The maximum occupancy was in the 1

"Was there any doubt?" Her "friend" handed Natalia back her cell phone. "It wasn't that hard. It only took a couple of minutes to transfer the information when he wasn't looking." The girl chuckled as she viewed the contents that had been acquired.
"This should teach her friends to keep their mouths shut," Natalia said smugly. She quickly pulled out her wallet and slapped a bundle of bills across her informant's palm.
Despite being paid, Natalia's "friend" still looked a bit uneasy. "Are you sure this isn't against the rules, though?"
