This vase was thrown on the potters wheel, then layers of colored slips were applied and it was hand carved in the geometric circle pattern. A clear glaze was applied to the bottom and the green and pink glazes were applied to the rest of the vase by hand before it was fired.
The facets on this piece have been completely smoothed out, unlike the slightly more textured facets on the other pieces. Sprayed with yellow and gray glaze. Fired to Cone 5.
This came out of the kiln as a pleasant surprise. I had initially sprayed the top portion with white glaze (or so I thought), but being in a highschool ceramic studio, there's bound to be hooligans contaminating the glazes! Someone poured some black into the white so my pot came out gray and yellow!
