The +Fav and Run Phenomenon.
Have you ever received Favorites on your deviations, but did not receive any comments or critiques? Have you added a user's work to your Favorites, but never left them any comments or feedback on those pieces? Many would agree that while views and favorites are great, that comments and critiques are the most valuable. This contest aims to fill that void, by giving deviants a chance to return to the artwork they collected and provide feedback for it.
To leave Comments, Feedback, and Critiques on Deviations in your Favorites Collection.
Go through your Favorites Gallery, and comment on the deviations you find there that you did not leave a comment on. You may also

Do me a favour to any artist who are watching me now and would like to improve the way they design and present their final artwork.
Go to your local museum/fine arts gallery (preferably the national branches or the ones in the big cities), make it a field trip and learn something that may perhaps be a significant benefit to your art studies.
Book your student discounted fare online, grab your backpack filled with sketchbook and whatever drawing tool you're comfortable with (graphite, microns, watercolors etc...), get that bus ticket, go get some fresh air, and some exercise while at it - make this an investment worthwhile.
Be sure to check out the policies of the art gallery/museum before you do any sketching in public, some have very strict rules about drawing in the public galleries, while some are more flexible. Be aware and be prepared on your field trip at all times.
When everything is good to go, walk around the gallery, observe and find pa

I look at you
And wonder why we talk.
Wonder why we were friends.
What made us click.
You say something
And I wonder why people laugh
Wonder what goes on in your head
What made you say it.
We have a moment
Where we share a secret smile
And I sadly accept
That you've been forgiven
Thank you - 1 year of joyTomorrow it has been exactely a year since I started this account. You don't have to read all of this, but if you do, you really deserve a cookie this time. I used to have another account before this one, but after a year I realized that I didn't actually have any friends and the art I was uploading really wasn't up to the standards that I wanted it to be... I also realized my love for Shadilver, but I was terrified to upload anything involving Shadilver. Like I said, I didn't really have any friends on that account and no one knew who I really was, but for some reason I felt like I was being a shame to the world for just uploading a picture of Shadow hugging Silver...Thank you - 1 year of joy2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So I just said to myself "You know what? I'm going to start over. I might have made misstakes in the past and I might not have been able to upload what I've wanted because of fear of judgement, but I'm leaving all of that behind me now."
"If I create an account where NO ONE knows who I am..then they're technically not
Academy of Art University (Final Thoughts...)"Be brave, learn and try new things, and more importantly, live life with no regrets. This I did."Academy of Art University (Final Thoughts...)8 months ago in Personal More Like This
At the start of June 2013 I arrived to California to live with :iconchemb0t: and his family for a while before moving to the heart of San Francisco downtown to prepare my first semester (and first ever experience studying at an art school at university level). Jason and his family are considered my second family, that's how special they are. At the same time I caught up with :iconevanstanley:, :iconcirotin: and Evan's family for a rafting trip for week long stay in Santa Cruz. I feel privileged to have known those two better and in person, especially when they are passionately driven and talented artists in their own right. Then I went to Mexico for a short trip, it was there that I've been able to appreciate the beautiful heritage, cultures, food, and landscapes, at the same time it was also a time when I got to appreciate m

How to render 'Shadow the Hedgehog' with charcoal!Hi guys and gals! How to render 'Shadow the Hedgehog' with charcoal!1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Seriously I want you all to give this a try. You'll learn something awesome and end up with a kick-ass finished drawing.
What you need:
Charcoal pencil (2B or 4B)X-acto knife (for the kiddies, be very CAREFUL when using this to sharpen your charcoal pencil)Willow/Vine charcoal (alternatively you can use this instead of the charcoal pencil and X-acto knife combo but you won't get the precision you need for the finer details)Sand paperKneed eraserPrecision eraser (something like the Mono Zero Eraser on this site - alternatively you can cut a regular eraser and make it pointy)Printer and paper (go to the Sonic Channel site and download ANY of the official Sonic artwork that is prepared specifically for rendering)Tissue paperYour index finger or thumbEnthusiasm!
Feedback on Studying the Human Anatomy (FA 213)It's only two weeks left of my amazing year at the Academy of Art university. I have learnt alot from my time here and it's time to embrace it's final moments.Feedback on Studying the Human Anatomy (FA 213)9 months ago in Personal More Like This
Just this morning I had the majority of my final assessment graded for Introductory to Human Anatomy class:
I was chuffed with my assessment. It feels good to know that you're on the right track.
However more importantly in my circumstance (the fact that I'm studying at the Academy for personal development moreso than making a career out of it) did I gain anything from this particular class? The answer is a no brainer - yes.
I have a much better understanding of how the anatomical structure of the human body (both male and female) works.
Why is this important? It'll enable you to draw more convincing figures in any medium you wish to express - illustration, animation, comics, painting and so forth.
I know for sure that I still have a long way to go in perfecting the drawing

MisfortuneSonic was running for his life. Drops of sweat were falling off his head, fur standing up. He was out of breath but he continued running or else he'd be a dead hedgehog. He could feel his legs complaining but he kept running through the streets of Westopolis. There were light grey clouds covering the entire sky as winter started catching up and wanted to greet everyone, for missing more than usual the last year, with his usual gloom. Not that it made a difference. The sun had almost started to set, as the city's night-life began to stir. Hordes of people were gathered out of clubs while other were heading towards them. Some other, tired because of work, drove towards their homes.Misfortune2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
However Sonic ignored all that and kept running. Now I'm sure everyone is wondering the reason of such behaviour. Was it that the evil Doctor had unleashed another god-like entity? Or maybe he created one of the deadliest robots in existence? Perhaps there was another alien invasion, or a rip in the fabric of
Theme of the Week: Snowy MountainThe Holidays are coming up. Winter is approaching. And the snow is upon us. Just like out last TotW, we'll need candlelight to keep us warm.Theme of the Week: Snowy Mountain1 year ago in Personal More Like This
But wait! What about the outside? It's getting cold out there. One could freeze to death at the top of those mountains. But if you're well prepared, the mountains can be a beautiful tourist attraction. Just look at that view!
Right now, let's write about those mountains. Those giant hunks of dirt and rock covered in a snowy blanket. Perhaps they are beautiful? Peaceful? Enlightening? Or maybe they're haunted. Placed of curses and horror. What will it be for you?

I'm talking about suicide.
Already some of you are like "what are you talking about?" or "oh man, Wani's finally gonna do it! ;o; "
No, it's none of that. I gave that up long ago and I am not even one percent close to even suggesting that idea, especially after what happened...
In short, last June, after meeting :iconGizzyFox:, I met with two friends of hers; Gary Torres and James Ramirez(no relation).
These two guys were pretty weird when I first met them after some pretty embarrasing Skype sessions and chatting on Tumblr but soon enough, they were like the coolest dudes I ever met.
I don't think I ever met two dudes who I can completely relate to. 030
Behind the scenes, Gary and James had a "thing" going on and as you may have guessed, they were together for a short time. UwU

Don't Stop BelievingHey guys~~ Today was such an awesome day~ It was Art @ the Governor's again this year and I had so much fun meeting new artists and some people who new me from dA already. Now, what I wanna talk to you guys about today is, do NOT let anyone discourage you! The first year at this event where I showed my work, I was next to an old Caymanian art teacher and he introduced himself to me. He basically told me to stop what I was doing and draw on pen and paper because it wouldn't help me doing digital work. Now I agree that working with pencil and paper works, but only because it is to mainly focus on shading. He doesn't like digital art and to tell me to stop doing what I was doing because I was relying on my computer for everything was extremely disrespectful. This year I ended up having a spot next to him again. He approached me and didn't even recognize me. I had said that my dad told me this morning that he told him to meet me. He already did, but didn't know that it was me. My friends ADon't Stop Believing2 years ago in Personal More Like This
