The shower sprays hot water
The hot water soothes the pain
The pain caused from your abuse
The abuse from your hands
The hands got the strength
The strength came from the fights
The fights started by a comment
The comment was a result of hate
Hate happened from being abandoned from your parents
Can't you see how when people hurt people, they hurt other people.
The Battle of the OkWe all say we are okThe Battle of the Ok3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
It's never the truth
We want to say a million things on our mind
Instead, a pathetic, small ok suffices
We fight an inner battle
Often, defeat takes us
When are we really ever ok?
I would like to thank the person who can win the crusade
And ask him
How do you do it?
Our LoveEven the strongest winds cannot move such little thingsOur Love3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Like the smooth pebbles on soft sand
Maybe our love?
If it was large
It would be easier to get carried away in the wind
But what if it had weight
As heavy as star
Reflected by the seas
Then wouldn't it get washed away or extinguished?
So maybe a pyramid
High into the sky
But how would we be able to climb it?
How about a small scarlet glass heart
Maybe thats how our love is
It's not incredible
It simple but works

I see it as a way of life
Rocks will break my bones
Scissors will cut my skin
But Paper will only harm my heart

My LoveI still see you in my reflectionsMy Love3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Bones left from your love
The side hasn't been slept in
Your smile is gone
My heart's on a string
Please don't cut it
Sew me back together
The same pattern as before
Unique like a web
Be my spider that spun it
You left early one frosty day
At least I thought it was cold
When I woke up to the shadow of you
A note left on the dresser
"I'm sorry" simply written on it
"The Only Exception" still playing softly
You were like a butterfly
Unable to see your true beauty
No matter how many times I told you
You wouldn't believe me
I'm out of questions and in the need of answers
Then my eyes open to the beautiful sight of you next to me
It was only a dream
More like a nightmare to me
I hold you closer and close my eyes once again
Knowing my "nightmare" will not reappear
HeartI left my heart's door open,Heart3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
But no one walked in.
I laughed but no one laughed with me.
All that's left is a symphony.
It's coming from the back of my heart.
I'm waiting for someone to hear it.
Will you listen?
These Words are Poisonit is with a careless abandon the words fly from fingersThese Words are Poison3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
bringing with them a sense of adolescent need
and though they ring true with the intent
a hollow feeling is left behind
words and words
never leaving a moment for truth
but never telling a lie
they all come from the heart
but nauseate the mind
never pleased with the result

Shall we flip the pages
Look for the number on the bottom
Hey remember when you cheated on me
Let's tear out that page
That time where we kissed
Let's highlight that part
I love your smile
The shimmer in your eyes
What do we do when this book is full?
Is that the end?
Or do we start a new one?
I don't care for suspense
Let's keep it a romance
A never ending one
NudismI was one of those deaf-mutes,Nudism3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
a shy flame,
a candle left on a park bench
lit and melting
drops of wax between
the wooden seams.
White water from a stone fountain
slides past shooting-star coins
leaving little bubbles in the grooves.
A child bites her mother on the grass,
and I thought she'd bleed caramel
and I thought about animals
(wishing on a drowned out star).
I'm forming quiet,
oil-scented puddles on the ground;
this fountain holds a shimmering
metallic cover beneath the water.
Natural art museum,
a shy flame getting pinched
by licked fingers,
smothered in conversation.
funeralI did not speak at your funeral.funeral4 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Though you knew me as a writer
I did not write a speech.
On the way to the funeral I stood on my
front porch and heard the
copper leaves rustle and
decided that was enough. The
wind spoke all that was needed from
The others wore black and
even though the words were
I said nothing.
I did not
cry. I heard jokes and happy memories
but I thought they were dark.
I could pour my memories into the
empty air and whisper how
something that created me was
I could murmur
meant anything anymore
but they wouldn't believe me.
You wouldn't believe me, if you heard
what they said about you.
They loved you, but I loved you
I think I started to cry
but you didn't see my
so they didn't matter.
I sobbed and
the earth was silent and
I did not speak at your funeral.

specks of black stark
against deep red folds:
fire & blood cradle
the flock flying
toward safe harbor.
Her bare feet hang off the edge
of a gray cliff,
her brown eyes locked
on the sunset wavering
She sits there
feeling so small
why the heavens shimmer
like the gold-green ocean
Tang of salt in her nose,
burning tears in her eyes,
water crashing ringing her ears,
auburn locks whipping around
crazy halo, lost divine:
She finds solace
in beautiful chaos,
its ebb & rhythm
of life greater
than her own.
