Having an assistant is pretty awesome.I want to thank everyone that offered advice on hiring an assistant in my last journal http://dragonsandbeasties.deviantart.com/#/d5iitev It really helped me figure out what I needed to do. And now, after a couple trial days of working together this past week, I've decided to hire Dezi :iconxlightangelwolfx: as my assistant. She doesn't have much on her DA page yet, but I am encouraging her to build up her online portfolio. She already enjoys sculpting and has made some really cute little dudes while she's been here in the studio. She's been a huge help this week with getting caught up on emails. She's a rockstar so far and a lot of fun to work with!Having an assistant is pretty awesome.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Now, I don't want anyone to think this makes my emails and messages less personal. I get asked a lot of the same things over and over, so they're easily answered, but just take time. More complicated ones Dezi reads to me, and I tell her what to type in response, so she is basically just taking dictation. It's a huge relief knowing I'
About PassionI'm fairly young, I understand. I have a life ahead of me to figure things out. My ideas about what I want and what I need will change. However, that hasn't stopped me from experiencing passion, and I'd like to share with you things I've learned about it.About Passion7 months ago in Personal More Like This
Passion rewards intrinsically, and I believe that's perfectly put. *scratches my head* It's really difficult for me to describe to you what exactly I mean by that because it's terribly simple. Passion is an internal matter. For example, my passion is learning about life. I loved handling various organisms that my AP Bio class got to study. I didn't love it because what we were studying was cute (hell, we studied the behavior of pill bugs one day). I loved it because as I was learning new things I could feel the pleasure centers in my brain FIRE. The kind of fire that slowly seeps into every crack of your mind and warms your soul. The kind of fire the makes your being vibrate. I also got that feeling elbow deep in a

My foray into the world of Skyrim... Day 4Day 4My foray into the world of Skyrim... Day 41 year ago in Personal More Like This
Off on my new quest to visit Riften, I had my first random dragon encounter. Damn thing had me cornered on the mountain (cuz I was trying to glitch my way through the mountains faster) and it nearly killed me. But somehow I managed to take it down with only a sliver of life left. Hooray!
Stole a pony and then quickly got caught for it forcing me to pay the fine. I stole another pony and it was going nicely until I dismounted. The horse then promptly disappeared and I never saw it again. Curious...
Completed the golden claw quest on my way to Riften too. That was a quest I was long overdue in checking back in on.
It took me a while to figure out how to get to Riften. There's a big mountain in my way so taking the straight path wasn't an option. Along my journey I came across a fortress that had been overtaken by thieves. Upon inspection inside it seems to have become a dog fighting betting parlor. Details such as this are why I enjoy games like Skyrim. Nobody sa
Advice on hiring help?Ok guys. I'm super serious this time. I am going to hire an assistant. I've been looking at all the legalities of it and honestly, I'm rather confused on how to go about it. I can't figure out if it's an employee or an intern or how to define it I guess. This has been the one thing that has kept me from hiring help in the past. I'm not entirely sure what I'm doingAdvice on hiring help?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Basically what I would want help with:
- Answering emails, comments, and questions
- Photographing products
- Posting items
- Keeping up with social networking (facebook, twitter, etc.)
- Boxing, shipping, post office runs
- Keeping studio clean and organized
- The occasional errand or supply pickup
- Committed to 2 days a week during the afternoon here in the studio
Now the tricky part. I really want someone interested in my work. Someone that sculpts or even just wants to learn sculpting, and possibly even wants to work towards their own online business. I don't want someone making my dragons. I want to h

Well, I'm hitting a good and busy patch, and thus ended up calling in various favours to get you your GND pages [more or less] on time. You may have noticed (Ahem. Artist Comments under the deviations - read 'em, people) that the latest pages have been full glittering Undergroundian colour, and that you need to be thanking LouisaGallie (formerly Phuriedae of the amazing JS fanart?) for that.
In fact in proper pay-it-forward fashion, it'd be really nice if you helped out some by supporting her work. When she's not being a wonderful fanfic sounding-board and colouring GND pages after a long day at the office, Louisa has been working as a games artist -

The sunlight glared into the prestine and serene bridge as a clad fully armored warrior broke the unnatural silence with a gracefull walk onto the command holo field, the lights blazed on while the warriors fingers began gliding through the glowing holo field which surrounded him.
'Destination to Orasie Comfirmed'
A voice echoed out through the seemingly empty bridge
'Whats the brief?'
Inquired another warrior that appeared out of darkness which never existed.
The warrior that's surrounded by fluorescent lights turned around and shared a glance with the questioning warrior.
'We have reports of a union scouting team going missing on Orasie, it's our job to find them and eliminate any threats'
'Isnt this a job for the union itself Drogo?' Inquired the shadowed warrior.
'It would be if their rescue efforts have not been mysteriously vanishing Eddard' deftly replied Drogo
'The flux?' Inquired a new body in the now brightly lit bridge
'We are not sure, every-tim

We thought it was high time you learnt about some of the great game worlds we hope to bring you on the MMO Lab platform. An MMO is only as good as the world it's set in. If we can't offer you a world you want to explore, a world you want to experience and a world you want to leave your mark on; then we're not doing our jobs.
And what better way to hear about these incredible worlds than in their creator's own words?
For the first post in our series Emperor Myric invites you to journey amongst unknown stars to the war-torn reaches of the Ancerious Galaxy.
“The days where the Ancerious Galaxy scintillated with primordial, mysterious forms of life and majestic civilization now echo only in legend and hidden runes. After the reality-shattering Theomachy, the galaxy and its unlimited riches have stood still for countless and silent eons.
But now the silence has been broken: the galaxy calls. Drawn in by the mysterious appearance of wormhole gates within their territory l

Why You Should Read...Dreamkeepers Volume 1 by David and Liz LillieWhy You Should Read...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I never had much of an interest in comic books/graphic novels when I was younger. It was always a fleeting feeling that I had. Whenever I searched the shelves of a bookstore, I never could find anything that really stuck to me on the emotional and intellectual level.
Fantastic Four? Nope.
Superman? Meh, kind of predictable considering the status of the comic industry of today.
…You get my point. I find today that mainstream artist and writers are recycling the same material again and again. Today's formula falls flat considering how marginalized comics are and the wealth of potential they have as literature. Characters have about as much development and depth as a teaspoon, and whenever they are brought back to life, I just sigh in reaction while rolling my eyes in response to the very formula other writers have d

So we finally welcome back season 3 of MLP! I'm very excited for this season to unfold, and I hope that all of you are avoiding all the spoilers and commercials like you should be!
Next week, my first episode of season 3 airs, "Too Many Pinkie Pies." I had a blast working on this episode with my amazing board partner Dave. I have never gotten to do a full-on Pinkie Pie episode, so this was definitely a fun one for me.
Looking forward to seeing more fan content, I'm always amazed at all the talent out there!
Hope ya'll enjoy!

One long fill in the blank paragraph, 5 true or false questions, and 5 short answer questions.
Having not studied (As usual), I wrote this for the last true or false question:
___TRUE!!!___ I should have studied and payed attention more so I could come up with a better question than the one you see here.
(A for effort?)
Thankfully, he was cool about it and just put a large "HA!" and gave it no credit sadly.
But hey, as long as it gets me a B, it was still worth it.

1- On Volantis they have words of the day printed in there news paper. Last months funniest was indubently. This months funniest was Insatiable. Now, alone it is not that funny but one would have to know the inside joke in it. There was a convo at the radio station concerning head gear. There was a uniform inspection coming up and someone had to get everything all prepped, last checked was the head gear. There was some issues with it and the hat was ruined but then he exclaimed he was in Insatiable Douchebag and had bought for no reason three of them just remembering that fact. So Decembers word on Volantis, is now Insatiable.
2- The typical D.H.R. bed can best be described as a interesting pull out drawer that is stoed in the wall. Complete with sections above it for storage of personal affects, and a place to set up a personal computer in between. Think for a moment how Charr barraks are set up, something alot like that if not spot on.

Fear's Rising Pt.2When Shaw opened his eyes once more he was met by Naga's gaze. Just as cold and uncaring as before. Shaw was leaned against one of the frozen columns that lined the chamber. “Welcome back to the land of the living, Shaw. Sleep well?" the draconian asked.
“I assume so, you were out cold for 3 hours."
Shaw scowled at the draconian as he slowly at up. Rubbing his forehead with a clawed hand. "Best Rest I’ve had in years" He Responded, the sarcasm practically dripping from his voice. "Aside from the mind numbing Nightmares... What was that Naga?" He said as he got slowly to his feet. Rubbing his head and feeling where the Shard Naga had given him had fused to his skull. "And where are the others?"
“That was a test. One that you...’passed’...with my help, of course. The others have been moved ahead, like you, they have also passed and wait for us in the throne room." Naga replied, ignoring

Critiquing Critiquing StoryStory: Turns out you're doing it wrong.Critiquing Critiquing Story5 months ago in Personal More Like This
Everyone is- and what's more, anyone who tries to make a foray into storytelling without having mastery over their efforts merits endless scorn.
I've had the privilege of sharing advice with some other creators of late, and seen some of the (usually anonymous) criticism being leveled at their work. It's noteworthy for being intense, superficially sophisticated, and misguided.
Now, there are two kinds of creators out there. Those who don't give a fig for what other people think, and dismiss all criticism out of hand.
...Those creators tend not to improve.
Then there are those who care about the quality of their work, take pains to make it enjoyable for others, and are receptive to feedback.
These individuals have the most potential as writers, and are also most vulnerable to their efforts being permanently deformed by vindictive critique.
They'll be assured their characters are flat cutout
