Ashley sighed as she rolled and reached out for her wife, only to find cool sheets instead. She lay there listening for any movement, but silence filled the house. Throwing back the covers, she swung her legs off the bed and stood with a yawn. She checked the bathroom first, finding it empty, before heading to the other most likely place Jane would be, the nursery.
Walking the short distance down the hall, Ash stopped as she stepped through the doorway and just soaked in the scene before her, a loving smile on her face.
Moonlight flowed through the open curtains, bathing Jane and their infant son in the soft light. Both were fast asleep in a rocking chair with Jane's feet propped up on the window sill and Kaidan cuddled into her chest, his brown hair sticking out from his head at odd angles, with the Commander's arms wrapping him protectively even in sleep. An empty bottle lay forgotten on the floor while a soft towel barely hung off o

The air was cold as it blew through the open window. Looking out over the snowy landscape was a mage, one from the renowned Circle of Magi. But there were no darkspawn here, but rather and old and forgotten ruin. Soldier's Peak, once a mighty fortress for the order, now a broken and crumbling mess.
But it was to be expected. After all, less than a day ago it had been occupied by demons and the un-dead, the terrible result of a failed rebellion centuries ago. Devan might not have even come here at all, had it not been for the appeal made by a man named Levi Drydan. And speaking

Shepard sighed as she stepped onto the elevator and punched the button for the cargo bay a little harder than absolutely necessary. They were docked at the Citadel to get some upgrades and repairs for the Mako, after a rather unfortunate incident involving lava and Wrex driving. Everyone, minus the Commander and a certain Gunnery Chief, taking advantage of the rare chance to get off of the ship for a few days.
After having spent the last three hours finishing a stack of reports, and enduring yet another stressful conversation with the Council, whose sole purpose in the galaxy seemed to be to second guess and criticize every decision she made, she was eager for a break. Meanwhile, Ashley had been busy making sure everyone’s equipment was in order and prepared for the missions to come.

Commander Jane Shepard and Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams wandered the scenic walk of the Presidium, hand in hand. They talked and joked about anything and everything that came to mind as they strolled around. When they reached the miniature version of a Mass Relay, Shepard leaned against the guardrail and looked over at the massive lake below them. Ash dropped Jane’s hand, still standing in the middle of the walkway, and seemed to stare at some spot below them, an odd look on her face.
Shepard turned when Ashley let go and saw her staring, but when she tried to see what she was looking at, she didn’t see anything. Turning back, her head tilted to the side curiously, she asked, "What are you looking at Ash?"
The Chief gestured to the water below them, "They've built themselves quite the lake... wonder if anyone ever drowned in

They look so happy...
The thought brought a sad smile to my face as I watched them talk and laugh not twenty feet away. If I moved just a little closer, I might just be able to make out what would put such a big smile on the Commander’s face, but I don’t move. A dull ache fills my chest to the point that I can barely breathe as they move to stand next to the railing and Shepard wraps an arm around Liara, the Asari resting her head on the human’s shoulder.
They look so fucking happy…
My long hair blocks out the rest of the galaxy as I bow my head and let the tears fall. I will never be the one who could put the smile on Shepard’s face like Liara could, or be the one she turns to when even the invincible Commander fal

Shepard rolled over in her bed, trying to ignore the prodding on her shoulder and the voice calling her name.
Pulling the covers over her head, she desperately tried to go back to sleep.
Burying her head under a pillow, the Commander smiled when she heard an exasperated sigh.
She settled deeper under the blankets and started to fall back asleep, thinking that the person had given up, until a hand jerked away her pillow and a voice yelled right into her ear.
“JANE! GARRUS SET THE CARGO BAY ON FIRE WITH THE MAKO CANNON!”
“What?!” Shepard jerked upright in the bed, her short hair sticking out wildly from her head, and sent blankets and pillows flying as she scrambled to get out of the bed. She was thoroughly tangled in the sheets when she registered the other person in the room doubled over with laughter, arms wrapped arou

Something old was playing on the sound system. Something really old. Kaidan looked up from his drink and over to the stage where the musicians played. The front woman was blonde and hugged the microphone, pressing it to her lips like the romance would make all the difference. She had a low voice that slanted sweetly in all of the right places. He turned completely in his seat to give his full attention to the stage.
Ain't it good to know that you've got a friend, when people can be so cold
Her eyes met Kaidan's and she smiled as she moved in time with the piano and the guitar.

There isn't much time. The explosions from the fighting are rattling the walls, and each one feels closer and closer. I just wanted to say, if I don't make it up until this point, we've had an amazing run. I have no idea what is going to happen out there once Anderson and I begin moving the troops, so I wanted to say goodbye. I wanted to say goodbye in case this was the last time I could. We've had our ups and our downs over the yearsyou've been a firm friend through all of my transitions, you stuck by me, and you taught me to believe. Because of you, I've been reunited with Major Alenko, and our differences have finally been settled giving us the chance to love one another with all that we can even here at the end. Because of you I've watched the love between two of my most loyal crew, and trusted friends blossom; and I couldn't be happier for Tali and Garrus. I had to really see it to beli

"Hunnigan I need a med VAC to this location immediately! Hunnigan did you copy?"
"L...e...o...can...ou...ear...me?" the reception was full of static, the words cutting in and out.
"Dammit!" I needed to get to the roof, but that meant leaving Claire here. Leaving her with Ada was not the ideal choice and moving her was the lesser option, I have no choice. Leaning in close to her ear "I am sorry it looks like I am going to have to move you after all." Placing the gun back in Claire's holster and the communicator in its pocket, I knelt down to gently place my arms under her limp body. She was so cold and motionless; her breathing was faint.

She didn't move but stood her ground staring down at me, her gun aiming at my head.
"Lately it seems I only see your face behind a barrel of a gun," giving her my unamused smirk.
"Leon " She said calmly taking a step forward towards me, ignoring my remark.
"Ada, if you still want to walk out of here alive I would not come any closer. Missing the first shot was no accident, but I won't miss again." The stern sound in my voice was clear and emotionally detached, glad my training kicked in again. She stopped, seductively pulling her torn dress to the side and sliding her gun back into its holster.
"Go ahead and shoot Leon, if it would make you feel better about Claire's death." She said it very carefully with empathy in her voice.
"She is not dead and that is no longer your concern!"
My heart tightened at the thought of the word, but I didn't want Ada to see how it affected me. Redfiel

It was a warm April day. Or Saturday, if to be exact. Claire decided to plant some flowers in her garden. Leon was sleeping on a couch in the living-room peacefully. He was on a vacation and his lovely wife persuaded him to take as much rest as it was possible.
Claire was turning up the soil when she felt a sharp pain in her palm. The girl cleaned her hands from the dirt and looked at the spot that was bringing her

He interrupted me, "No protesting, sometimes even the strongest person needs to be comforted sometime."
He embraced me tighter pressing his body against mine, closing any gap of comfort I was holding on too. I wanted to protest and my mind was screaming for him to let me go, but my body gave into the steady beat of his heart. He was right, my body desired the touch and I hadn't realized how much till this moment. My eyes started to get heavy as the rise and fall of his chest enhanced the calming effect of his embrace. I was waiting for the typical Leon flirtation to break the moment but he stayed quiet, resting his head against the side of mine. My eyes got heavy and started to close to his sweet smell, the softness of his hair against my cheek and the security of his embrace.
The sudden sound of my brother's ringtone brought me out of my sleep and into a blurry reality. Reaching awkwardly towards the sound; my hands found

It was a rare quiet moment in the Normandy, and Joker was enjoying the silence. That was until the annoying voice coming from the computer started to speak. Naturally Joker ignored her; after all she usually just repeated the same stuff over and over again. "Mr. Moreau, you are not allowed to make modifications." "No sleeping while piloting the ship, Mr. Moreau." The list just went on and on. Like he going to let the ship itself tell him how to pilot. He let out a sigh and looked outward into space, just hoping that something interesting would happen.
The clank of heels echoed down the hall, and the noise drew closer. Joker paid no attention to this. It was probably Miranda checking in on him in silence. Joker swore to God that all the females on the ship, human or not, were out to get him in some way or another, at least the important ones. Unlike Kelly, he just hated her.
"Commander, you have a new message at your private terminal." Joker clenched his fist; he had t
