You gulped as you gripped the metal handle of the door to the house. It was your first real party since you had became an aspiring actor. Not many people knew of you, and that was why you were here. Your old friend Robert suggested that you come so that you might make some new friends, and maybe get signed to act for a movie. You took a deep breath as you slowly opened the door, walking into the room. Heads turned to look at you. You were wearing a beautiful, long, [insert your favorite color here] dress. You heard one man whistle. Your face turned a deep crimson. After a moment, everything went back to normal. You strode across the room, looking around as you walked. Then you spotted him. He was sitting across the room at the bar, staring at you. When you made eye contact with him, he smirked slightly and beckoned you over. You were surprised, why would he want to speak with you? Why would he even care about you? Questions raced through your mind as you walked towards him.
Stargate: Tomb Raider Ch. 1The United States Air Force starship Odyssey slowly lifted itself out of the construction cradle - what would have been a "dry-dock" to an ocean-going vessel. She had been going through several weeks of repairs and refits after SG-1 had returned her to Earth with her Asgard upgrades inside of her. Some members of the BC-303 construction team hadn't wanted to let her go - they wanted to strip out all the advanced technology the Asgard, shortly before they'd sacrificed their world to stop the Ori vessels from pursuing Odyssey, had installed on her. General Hammond and the President had overruled them, but had let them use the Asgard matter replication technology to create a data storage device with complete schematics on all the technology aboard the ship. The scientists had made gleeful comments about designing this technology into a new starship design, and Colonel Davidson was ordered to go into orbit and use the Asgard sensors to scan Earth for any more hidden AncieStargate: Tomb Raider Ch. 17 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This

Levi pulled the tattered excuse for clothing closer to his body as the merciless wind engulfed his body in coldness. He shivered as he dug his fingers into his clothes as a way to warm himself up. This life that he lived was one no child should ever have to endure.
He couldn’t remember the last time he ate food that hadn’t been rotted or previously feasted on by someone else. He wanted his own meal, his own home, his own bed. But life in the slums worked against him. There was nothing he could do other than fight for his own survival.
You were holding tightly onto your father’s hand as the two of you ventured into the under city. He had come here on business with a merchant that was willing to buy something valuable of his. It was obvious this merchant was a type of black marketer. He was probably going to sell it to some shady friends for even more than he got it – but money was money, and your father didn’t care much where he got it as long as it was the

The temple was a visage of golden light from Laras perspective, perched high on a rocky outcrop. Firing her magnetic grappler, Lara began to shimmy down the light weight high tension cable towards her goal. Sliding down past the imposing sand dunes of the desert just south of Cairo, Croft found herself mesmerised by the absolute scale of this archaeological find. The solid gold temple of the Egyptian Princess Shima Ra had been discovered after a terrible sand storm had undermined the stability of a dune that had been resting on an air pocket, causing the dune to collapse in upon itself and reveal the magnificent temple. It had been a pure stroke of luck that Lara had been in Cairo during the storm and had decided to ride out into the desert in search of any locals that might have been stranded during the storm.
In fact the only reason Lara had found the temple at all was that her over excited camel had nearly pitched the both of them into the t

He has tears in his eyes,
And every tear,
I truly despise.
I see a young man,
He's grown with fear in his eyes,
And I know this man,
And sometimes he cries.
But the young man keeps smiling,
A piano he plays,
And he grins as he taps it,
Day after day.
I watch him in board rooms,
In taverns and pubs,
And he plays every tune
That his audience loves.
He closes his eyes
And he keys in the notes,
And through the warm room,
His quiet song floats.
So I know this young boy,
Who's grown into a man,
With pain in his life,
And a piano on hand.
He's been beaten and tortured,
And kicked and abused,
He's been taunted and yelled at,
He's been teased and used.
So I asked him a question,
In that tavern one night,
I asked "How do you smile?
When you've had such a fight?"
But again he just smiled,
And nodded his head,
And tapped on a key,
And sang a song instead:
"Play on the keys
That don't make a sound,
If you don't have a keyboard
Then carve it in ground.
Play any tune

The Warmth Under Your Wings, Part 3The space of the waiting room felt like it had closed around Rainbow Dash and Dr. heartfeld, leaving them in a vacuum where they were able to comprehend only each other's presence and the things they said. Rainbow Dash was completely still on the outside, but the inside of her head kept telling her different ways to properly react to the things the old, faded tan stallion had just told her. Though she had an idea what had happened in Scootaloo's past, she was still somewhat unprepared for hearing the truth. The Warmth Under Your Wings, Part 33 years ago in Drama More Like This
Dr. Heartfeld was a patient pony. While Rainbow was picking up the pieces of information one by one, he sat still and watched her with a pair of curious, yet calm eyes, eager to hear her response while still giving her the required time to absorb what he had said. With a straight back and a dignified expression, he sat ready for Rainbow's judgment, whatever it would be. This was, after all, the reason she had asked him to tell her the story of the unfortunate orange filly in the fir

You make me weak.
But you'll never know,
The only thing i'll never show.
When you're near,
I can't see clearly.
I would do anything for you,
Except tell you how I feel.
What can I give you?
Just don't ask me to give you up,
I can't leave you.
My minds on loop,
Keeps skipping back to you.
My heart beats,
Even when it stops you can count on me.
Your shadow in the light,
and the night.

And most importantly the last breath.
Every second passes,
Some are remembered; most disregarded.
All in the lead up to that last moment,
The one that has us continuously glancing at our clocks and calendars.
When we lose that one thing,
The absence of which makes life that...little bit more unbearable.

Just a kiss, to begin,
Then I'll get a little brave,
Make my way down your chin.
I'll be watching your face,
Looking close for a smile,
Then I'll move to your neck,
Kiss you there for a while.
Trace your throat with my tongue,
Feel you gulp once or twice,
Grin against your dark skin,
Know my kiss must feel nice.
Hold your face in my hands,
And I steal just one more,
This will not be our last,
Of that I am sure.

MASS EFFECT 3 ALTERNATE ENDING *SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY*
**EDIT** Holy crap this got way more attention than I was expecting. The comments and support have been amazing everyone!
A few points: Credit where credit is due; this ending, as much as everyone seems to love it, was only created because the amazing team at Bioware created a universe that was so rich and full of life and detail. As much as I know a lot of fans are hurt by what they did, we need to remember that Bioware still created an incredible trilogy, one of the best ever. So hats off to them all round.
Also, this was written really fast and so the ending (specifically the last part on how you actually win using TIM's signal) isn't very fleshed out. I know there are holes, and they can actually be fixed quite easily. This isn't perfect. Also, this doesn't deal with a 'happy' ending. If there were to be one, or you were to even CONSIDER taking the fourth option, you'd need to be damn ready. I'm talking ALL war assets e

I’m falling, she thought.
Rushing air tore at her like claws and her stomach churned. She knew only darkness and the horrible, hateful wind.
She jolted into consciousness as if waking from a nightmare, one so real, so intense, it left her soul shaken. All she remembered from her dream was the noise; a furious rumble like the call of a hungry dragon from a dark fairytale. It turned her insides as much as the sensation of falling. Now awake, she couldn’t understand why she still heard it, why she still felt like she plummeted into hell. Some other sound teased her, unidentifiable, lost in the wind.
“What’s happening? Is someone calling me? Where am I?” Pain rampaged through her and the questions fell away. She thought she might throw up.
A voice reached her. Persistent, hysterical, all static and unclear sounds.
She called out, tearing her throat raw with effort, trying to reach through the gusting void to

I feel it.
It's so painful.
Turmoil rolling in my stomach.
I let myself believe...
I know better.
It's an illusion.
Why won't it go away?
I can hear the illusion play it's music.
Soprano voices of happiness.
Altos of Promise.
Tenors of Gentleness.
Baritones of Truth.
Why don't I listen?
I fool myself over and over again.
Believe they really care.
Why lie to me?
Why do I believe it?
I let them sweep the floor with me.
You don't care a bit.
I don't care a bit.
I live in this...
This Insanity of my mind.
This world of Hate.
I go on.

Carlos Oliveira walked apprehensively through the corridors, the only sound was his footsteps against the crystal-like marble floor. His eyes searched the beige walls for the numbers 306, which he believed to be the room of a Miss Jill Valentine. In his right hand he held tightly onto a bouquet of cherry red roses as if it was his lifeline. He wore a pitch black suit with a red tie, but the collar was annoying the shit out of him. He pulled at it, which gave him brief relief.
He arrived at the location he was looking for, and suddenly was met with clamminess. His heart was beating. This was all too new for him. He would have never imagined he'd be doing this- arriving at a girl's doorstep to confess feelings of love? That was definitely a first.

My aching heart becomes the beating metronome

Scars are the beats
My confusion pieces into notes
My abuse becomes the bridge
A song becomes freedom
Screams are now a calm hum
Pain a soothing rhythm
Sadness now upbeat chords
Silence a flood of expression
Hopelessness now a chorus of faith
Confusion dissolves into clarity
Abuse becomes strength
A song becomes freedom

I sat up straight. I had another nightmare. One of the strange kind, because what I'd seen didn't make sense at all. Luke on the Princess Andromeda... he was about to kill Percy and I'd tried to save him and then... Oh I don't remember.
That's an other thing about this kind of nightmare. The memories of what exactly happened, begin to vanish as soon I wake up and a few minutes after I wake up, I only know that I had a nightmare.
But this time I remembered a little better what had happened. I had seen this scene before, three years ago after we got back from the Sea of Monsters and were trapped on Luke's ship. I couldn't explain why I dreamed about that. There was nothing to worry. Luke was dead and the Princess Andromeda on the bottom of the ocean.
I turned around and tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn't. I decided to get up. I changed into one of my Camp-Half-Blood t-shirts and into jogging pants. It was 3 am in the morning, I put on my shoes and sneaked out

Wondering through the hollow memories of days before
Still wishing you will be there with a smile full of hope
Haunting my dreams each time I sleep
Never do I want to wake from my dreams
Each day I weep for you to return
Each day this pain grows into concern
Now I am torn in between
The good of life
And the evil of death
I just cannot stop this path
That will soon come to be my end.
