However if people would like to become swordmakers then they need knowledge about swordmaking. So people who are intrested in swordmaking are shown this news topic. It contains all the knowledge about swordmaking made on DeviantArt. However this mainly deals with building eastern swords namely katana's. By learning how to make Katana's, you can use that knowledge to make other swords. This News Topic will be updated with new tutorials.

Cosplay Tutorial: Molding and casting your piecesThis tutorial is based on how to use Smooth-on's Oomoo- and Smooth-cast series materials for cosplay purposes. There is little special too about using fiberglass instead of smooth-cast. Hope you enjoy!Cosplay Tutorial: Molding and casting your pieces1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Ok. Lets get started!
"I need five identically same looking parts like in that center of the picture for my cosplay but making them one by one would take LOTS of time. What to do?"
If you have the right materials then the answer is simple: "Make one sharp prototype of that piece then mold it and cast it."
Here are the materials you need:
- Modelling paste for making the prototype (or what ever material you like. It won't affect to the final product)
- Smooth-On's Oomoo 25 or 30 for making the mold (mold max 20-40 works too but it' need more skill to use. So i recommend Oomoo)
- Smooth-On's Smoothcast series for casting (i recommend smooth-cast 320 because it is easy to paint with spray paint)
(Smooth-On got lot of resellers in few countries. Here in Finland is Silcom.fi who sells their p

Yes I'm talking about the Assassin's Creed Hidden Blade, note that this design will extend out to how far you flex your hand, will retract when you let go of the trigger and lock if you choose to continue to the Bonus and read how to make it lock.

Yaya's Cosplay Tips - Part 1I had to have emergency surgery this weekend to remove my appendix, so not only did I miss HeroesCon but I'm also on forced bed rest for the next little while. Tutorials / Patterns / etc...These links were found around the web and posted here in order to make your search for the correct pattern / tutorial easier. Do not discard a link just because it doesn't say "(character's name) skirt" or "(character's name) cloak"; if you're searching for a skirt then carefully examine all the links in the skirt section, one of them might be just right for your cosplay. In the end, these are links to sewing and crafting tutorials that aren't necessarily for cosplay but that fit to certain characters. All the designs here have at least one character related to them, they are not mentioned because that would cause too much of a mess, just go on and click along the links, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. Vanellope FAQ + Facebook Kiriban PrizeSince I have a lot of questions about Vanellope, here's a little Q&A for you guys!Vanellope FAQ + Facebook Kiriban Prize1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Q: Where did you buy the skirt/leggings/hoodie?
A: I made everything myself from scratch. I didn't buy anything except the boots.
Q: Would you suggest a blue-green or a light green for the hoodie?
A: LIGHT GREEN. Most Vanellope cosplays I've seen haven't looked screen-accurate because they're too blue! Her color palette constantly changes with the lighting in the movie and it's better to go with a light green because no matter where she is, her hoodie *never* looks blue. That mint green is super hard to find so it's better to play it safe and do a light green.
Q: How did you make the skirt?
A: I made the skirt out of corduroy. Looking at the high res pictures of Vanellope, her skirt is two cupcake holders turned upside-down and stacked on top of each other. To create this illusion with fabric, you need to do pleats--two layers of pleats. Depending on how big you make your pleats and how much they fold

Big thanks to VSConcepts, SaTaNiA, ginkgografix and TwiggyTeeluck for their help in making this blog!
Starting from the absolute basics, how would you describe what CSS is and what it can be used for on deviantART?
VSConcepts says, Well, CSS Stands for Cascading Style Sheet. CSS essentially takes existing HTML and dresses it up. CSS controls how the basic HTML can be displayed to the viewer, and thus enhances the experience on the web. On deviantART, we apply CSS to our personal journals, our group blogs, and news articles, and even use it in some custom widgets.

It's a New Year... Riders, Tuners and Civilians!
Apologies for the delay in events and updates!
All secret santas have been sent and received! (Hope you all had a good one)
We've rearranged the artwork folder for easier navigation and plan to give teams their own little folder so that artworks regarding team activities during the night, or team data or team battles may be safely kept and easy to navigate into. Opponent teams can also gauge your level by looking into your team efforts and whether or not to challenge you... watch out, they're coming. And yes, teams get the special treatment (laughs at the solos)
no i'm just joking solos get a folder too WINK
(we'll also respectively be updating chat categories! Come visit when you can!)
Speaking of challenges.... are you all up for a challenge for valentines?
Can you just imagine?
I've only added teams that I've seen are active as of late, if you think your team is active.

Marceline the Vampire Queen FAQSince I get asked the same questions about this costume a lot, I figured I'd write up an FAQ for interested parties:Marceline the Vampire Queen FAQ3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Q: Where did you get your wig?
A: My Finn made it for me. It was made out of two long wigs-- one 48 inch, one 60 inch. They were purchased on Ebay. I don't know the seller, sorry!
Q: How did you do the makeup?
A: It is Ben Nye Character Series cream makeup in Ghoul Grey (CB-8). It was applied using latex makeup sponges and sealed with Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Powder and hairspray. I do not recommend using hairspray unless you have someone helping you apply the makeup.
You can buy it here: http://www.frendsbeautysupplyonline.com/bennyecharacterbasecb-8ghoulgrey.aspx for only $3.40!
Q: How much makeup did you use?
A: Evicted! : Medium Coverage (face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands)
Henchmen: Medium Coverage (face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands)
It Came From the Nightosphere**: Minimum Coverage (face, neck, hands)
Heat Signature: Medium

Sunday Special ;D WIG HEAD TUTORIAL!Yo!Sunday Special ;D WIG HEAD TUTORIAL!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Okay. It's Sunday. But I've promised to provide you with some new tutorial today also! *grin*
SO! HOW 'BOUT A WIG HEAD TUTORIAL ;D ESPECIALLY FOR YOU MY BIG HEADED FRIENDS!
Actually... I just hate all the wig heads for sale. My head size is 62cm. So you can believe how well those 55cm wig heads fit me.
I even have some problems with all the wigs! I always have to cut off all the adjustable size wraps! ;__; And even then they are too small for me!
Well, my solution for the problem is this!
With only 10 euros! Yeah, around 15 dollars you can make your OWN wig head.
Which is exactly the same shape as your own head.
So you can actually style your wig only with this! No need to put it on and cut trough a mirror anymore! ^^
We all have a different face. Eyes, nose, lips. They are all in different places!
That's why I really recommend to make your own wig head. To get the best results in wig styling!~
Here ya go!
First! You need a packet of straws, a packet of cling film and one who

Bear with me for adding another thought regarding the cosplay scene, i cant help it if certain issues or stories end up quite thought provoking.
Stories of cosplayers being harassed by some spectators are the common buzz in the community recently, and it had me thinking, what provoked these people to commit such actions that are considered unappropriate by the cosplayers themselves?
There are already tips and suggestions focused towards the audience on how to treat cosplayers. Now in this blog, id like

sry for being so late with updating you with my latest BIG project.
I'm working on this costume since January and finally I see the end of the long tunnel coming XD.
I wanna show you my now finished Saber Gift Figure armor!
If you don't know that version, you can see the reference here ---> http://www.ncsx.com/2009/012609/fate_stay_saber_gift.htm
If you like what you'll see please visit my facebook artist page as well ;D. There are always ALL progress photos form the stuff I am working on ^.^ ->>> http://facebook.com/calssara.cosplay
well let's start with the raw armor parts, completely unpainted.
I used WOBLAS FINEST ART as my material. It's a thermoplastic material with a mix out of plastic and wood. It's close to Wonderflex, but thicker, more durable and it's easier to make round shapes l shoulders, knees and chest plates. You can also melt the material together and use it as thermoplastic modeling clay!
This is my VERY first armor and even a bloody begin

It's now or never! Either team up with other teams or solo riders in order to take Vehemence down, or go it alone (though you have a greater chance of succeeding should you team up and collab with other members!) You will need tuners and mechanics on your team to succeed! Tuners are crucial, however, they are unable to tune correctly due to the Pledge Queen's condition - use the mechanic on your team to help with syncing, and keep those ATs in top shape!
You and your alliance of teams or solo riders found the location of Vehemence, approached the warehouse, and busted inside. But you are too late, Vehemence has the sky regalia and have activated it! Here you must face them! Collab with your alliance, or self, attacking Vehemence and submit the collab to the group before the set deadline. *You may draw Topsy/Tadi with or without his helmet. **Also remember this is an A rank team with three king levels, two of which are riders. The Pledge Queen is n

Well this is something that, unlike most the things I write, I gave it some thought. Something I don't write out of anger. Something I gave time to cool down.
The problem is people, the problem is the so called society, the problem is that we were never trained to grab an opportunity and be happy because we're doing what we want, and not only what we can. How many times people miss an opportunity just because they think that opportunity wasn't for them?
Have you ever wanted to go out with your friends but they don't call you? Say something to your co-workers or boss but you're scared? Talk some sense into someone? Talk to your crush? Confess your feelings? Solve a mistake? Return a call? Do something out of the routine? I bet you have. These are simple things of an ordinary life and yet people don't se

First and foremost, you’ll need to decide which kind of character you’d like to make! Please only submit applications that YOU have drawn - not the work of others. In Aerobrake, there are quite a few categories that you’ll be able to choose from when it comes to making a character. Here they are, and following them, are guidelines if you choose to make that type of character.
Storm Riders are the riders of the group. They may form groups and teams, ride solo, participate in Parts War and Dominion Rounds, or just ride for fun. These are the competitive individuals who may just aim for the skies or for a seat among the best of the best, their kings and queens.
Every storm rider needs a tuner.
This is a little different from AG, however, we feel that this is best for our group’s functioning.
You do NOT need to have a tuner right away,
Original Life UncensoredI'm keeping the main comic feed for Original Life PG-13 by adding mosaic censoring to the open nudity. It's hard to cover a clothing optional community without doing that. I thought of trying to cleverly hide everything with sprigs of foliage and wisps of hair, but felt I should just go natural with it. I want people to be able to read the stories as they please, anywhere they like, without worry, which is why I'm keeping the main comic site censored.Original Life Uncensored2 years ago in Personal More Like This
You can find the uncensored comics on my Tumblr account ( http://jayrnaylor.tumblr.com/ ). I'll try to post them up the mornings they update on the main site, when I wake up. They're not really sexual or crazy or anything, really, but I thought I'd give the option to people who like to save the files.

We’re going to be making a few major changes to the structure and focus of the club, but don’t be too worried about that. The primary thing we’re doing will probably actually make the club more accessible to more people. We want to focus the group around RP more than art. Art is time consuming, difficult, and sometimes stressful to people, and when posted as mandatory assignments can just add up and feel like more work. We’d prefer to focus on rp and the fun part of a club and have the art be an added bonus. After all there are over 800 watchers, that’s 800 more people seeing anything you post here!
The goal of this group is now…FUN. Not stress, not obligation..just FUN. RP serves as artistic inspiration, therapy
