I'm at work Sherlock.
I'm aware of your location.
I mean I'm busy.....
No you're on break.
That's beside the point. I could be busy.
But you're not. And I'm bored.
So do an experiment or something.
So drop by Bart's and ask Molly for something. I'm sure she would love to see you.
Yes. But I'd rather not see her.
That's not nice Sherlock.
No it isn't. But why is that relevant?
Why do I bother?
Bother with what?
Nothing. Never mind.
John have you ever thought about us in a romantic sense?
Where the hell did that come from?!
Ms. Hudson just came up. Made a comment about the two of us being so sweet together when she saw I was texting you at the clinic. Everyone else seems to think of us as more than friends.Just curious.
Oh. Well yeah. I suppose.

Sherlock x John Part 7When John woke up that morning and went down stairs, Sherlock was sitting on the couch, wrapped in a thick doona, sniffling. Alarmed, John rushed over to him. "Are you alright, Sherlock?" he asked, worriedly, pressing his wrist to Sherlock's forehead.Sherlock x John Part 72 years ago in Profiles More Like This
Sherlock swatted his hand away. "Don't be daft John. I am perfectly alright," he responded, his voice sounding thick.
"Sherlock! You've got a fever; you have to go back to bed, no buts, doctor's orders. I'll call the clinic; tell them I'm taking the day off. Now, up to bed with you, I'll be with you in a sec with a nice hot cup of tea," John fussed, shooing Sherlock away.
Grumbling, Sherlock complied, complaining all the way. Well, he wouldn't be Sherlock if he didn't.
Grinning, John picked up his cell and dialled the office, praying Sarah wouldn't be there. He started fixing Sherlock some tea as he did so. "Hello, Sarah speaking. How may I help you?" Sarah answered politely.
"Ah, hello Sarah, John here. Just wanted to let you

Another man down.
Another friend down.
"Noo. . ." John murmurs in his sleep, his head moving to the other side of his pillow.
Another gunshot, followed by a loud boom as dirt flies into the air and comrades fall.
"Noo. . . noo. . ." He says more urgently, like a quiet, desperate cry.
The image changes.
It's Sherlock, on the roof of the hospital again.
The scene replayed in his head.
Sherlock sending his 'note' and jumping.
"SHERLOCK!" John bolts upwards, wide awake and breathing hard. He looked around, making sure that he was still there in his bedroom of 221b Baker Street. His and Sherlock's flat.
"That was two years ago John, calm down, Sherlock is fine." He said to himself, throwing his blanket back over his shoulder and laying his head on the pillow. He sighed, his breath back to normal. A light passed by the window, caused by a passing car. The faint sound of a siren wailing in the night. He turned away from the window and started drifting back to sleep. He was almost a
Sherlock x John Part 8After John had relieved himself, he had come back and found Sherlock in a deep sleep. At first he hadn't been worried his fever had gone down and he wasn't coughing or sniffing anymore, but he hadn't woken up.Sherlock x John Part 82 years ago in Profiles More Like This
Worried, John stayed awake all night, ignoring his thirst and instead eating the cookies Harry had made. A few times, he almost fell asleep, but caught himself. Sherlock didn't wake up the next day either. Feeling a bit panicked, John decided that if he hadn't woken up by the night, he would call Mycroft.
When night came and went, John reached for his phone and called Mycroft, anxious. "Hello? Mycroft? Yes, it's John. It's about Sherlock, he went to sleep after you left and hasn't woken up yet, I'm getting worried," John said; his anxiety evident in his voice.
"I'll be right over," Mycroft said, his voice sounding drawn.
"And can you please get me some water?" John asked a second before Mycroft hung up.
Sighing, John reached out and cradled Sherlock's face in hi

Sherlock's face was so relaxed and peaceful and... so innocent. His curls were a mess and John noticed that his hand was still tangled in Sherlock's curls. He flexed his hand, wincing when his hand cramped. He gently withdrew his hand and gently stretched it.
Yawning, he looked at the time and groaned when he saw that it was only 5am. He knew that he had no hope of going back to sleep, so he thought about what he should do. He could stay here and watch Sherlock sleep, or he could get up and go shopping. He could get some of Sherlock's favourite tea...
Nodding decisively, John slowly withdrew his legs and let go of Sherlock's hand. John froze when Sherlock frowned, reaching out. Thinking fast, John grabbed a pillow and gave it to Sherlock, who cu

Sherlock's strange drink had helped his headache, but he had thrown up a couple of times before all the alcohol was out of his system. Glancing at his watch, he noticed that if he took a cab, he would be early and have to sit in an awkward silence with Sarah while they waited for customers. Shrugging, he started walking, enjoying the crisp morning air.
It was around seven o'clock at night when John finally got off work. It had been a hectic day with lots of customers, and John was exhausted. He was starving, tired, and his leg and injured arm was aching.
He knew Sherlock wouldn't have made dinner, so he grabbed some Chinese for both of them and continued walking stiffly

"Oh…yes!" Sherlock shouted, clapping his hands together and smiling triumphantly. "Of course he would do that, he can't help but gain back the confidence he feels that he's lost from the castration so–oh yes! It all makes so much sense!"
"Sherlock! What makes sense?" Lestrade said, raising his voice in the hopes of shaking Sherlock from his excited daze.
"Collins is going to the place where it all happened. To him it's symbolic justice."
"Which is where…?" John asked, looking at Lestrade, equally bewildered by Sherlock's epiphany.
"Oh for God's sake. Have none of you been paying attention? The Tube!"
Lestrade's eyes widened and he immediately whipped his mobile from his pocket.
"I need a team at the South Kensington Tube station immediately. Yeah. It's urgent. We've got a embezzling murderer hiding out there, waiting for his next victim. Go. Hurry. I'll meet you there." He turned to Sherlock. "Any further tips on where to look?"
Sherlock scoffed. "Believe me. Not an

Then he remembered the huge love bite Sherlock had given him. John's grin dropped and a scowl replaced it. He turned his head and glared at Sherlock, who was looking in the opposite direction from him. He opened his mouth to yell at Sherlock, but the consulting detective sighed heavily and looked directly into John's eyes. "OK, so I bit you. And gave you a huge love bite. Who cares?" Sherlock groaned.
John was just about to tell Sherlock exactly 'who cares', but, once again, Sherlock cut him off before he could start. He leaned down to whisper in John's ear, his hot breath sending shivers of pleasure through John's being. "Besides, we both know you enjoyed it," he whispered.
John face flushed from embarassment, and Shelock, obviously enjoying John's embarassment, started nibbling light

John rolled his eyes.
"No, you're not. You've just got a cold," he explained patiently, pointing his finger at Sherlock to show who was to blame for the whole situation. "I told you not to run around the flat barefooted and only in your dressing gown!"
Sherlock sneezed loudly three times in a row and then huffed with annoyance.
"My head is pounding, I can't think!" He protested while wrinkling his nose in indignation.
John sighed heavily.
"No wonder, you have a high fever. Just stay in bed and wait till the medicines I gave you will kick in."
"I won't, staying in bed is boring!" Sherlock stated defiantly, sat up and folded his arms on his chest.
"Sherlock, lie down!" A note of warning could be heard in John's voice. He used that tone to his most problematic patients at the hospital.
"No!" Holmes pouted like a stubborn child, ostentatiously not looking at John.

BBC Sherlock: NightmaresThe moment John woke up, he knew something was wrong. He was a light sleeper, courtesy of Afghanistan, so any sign of danger could instantly jolt him wide awake. And now he clearly sensed that his life was hanging by a thread. However, John decided to be cautious and not to make any unnecessary movements, which might provoke an assault. Instead he just opened his eyes slightly and carefully scanned the room shrouded in darkness. Yes, his instinct didn't fail him. There was someone standing at the door. The stranger was motionless, but John could hear him breathing irregularly, as if he just stopped running and tried to calm down. Only you can ease my painJohn winched and gasped as yet another sharp stab of pain pierced his shoulder, centering in his old wound from Afghanistan. Though it was nothing unusual at this time of year for his shoulder to act up (the cold weather always made it stiff and aching) it was still a painful and dreaded experience each time. The pain was often accompanied by small yet rough and ruthless flashbacks from that ill-fated day he had received the wound, the day he and his entire team had been ambushed and he, despite his greatest efforts, had lost three men at his own handsOnly you can ease my pain2 years ago in Romance More Like This

Sherlock stared at John as he worked, noticing his exhaustion in the multiple yawns and his occasionally nodding off. He frowned in slight confusion. It's only been two and a half days since John has slept. That wasn't long at all. Sherlock didn't feel exhausted until at least a week. But then again, Sherlock wasn't like most people. It only took a third cup of coffee for Sherlock to realize that John needed sleep to function.
"When did you last have a decent sleep?" The question slips out before he can take it back. He knows exactly how long it's been since John slept last. 60 hours.
It takes John a moment to realize a question had been asked and another moment to process it. He answers with a slight shrug, "Two, three days?" Instead of a

Incantations and Deductions SHObviously it took years for them to ever get around to speaking to each other. Sherlock reasoned that it was natural: as well as being in different, some might even say rival, houses, there was also the social class divide and the fact that Sherlock always gave off the general air of someone who never wanted to talk to anyone, in his life, ever. As a general rule Sherlock felt that unless someone was directly benefitting him by being alive in his presence he would do his best to tolerate them, but if not they could bloody well bugger off and do their dull living /breathing /sleeping /eating /talking /having fun business somewhere else.Incantations and Deductions SH4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
His mother said it was just his age, that teenage years were awkward, his anti social nature was a phase he was going through. Sherlock rather suspected that it wasn't so much his age as his life. And he wasn't awkward, he was perfectly poised. It was the rest of the world that was awkward and unpredictable and usually mundane but occasionally
When He SleepsSherlock detests sleep. Avoids it whenever possible. It's dull, pedestrian, unproductive and a waste of time. He only sleeps when it becomes absolutely necessary. When his body and mind are on the edge of collapse from over-exertion. Sleep was never a voluntary activity for him. When He Sleeps2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
At least that's how it used to be. Now he sleeps quite regularly. Even on cases.
But only in the back of a cab. This is because of a certain jumper-wearing doctor that shares the cabs with him. Because in the cabs he can pillow against the above-mentioned doctor and sleep quiet contently.
It started out by accident of course; this "pillowing arrangement." They'd been on a particularly brutal case for over a week; a string of child murders made to look like suicides. The killers knew what they were doing and were painstakingly thorough in covering their tracks. Even managed to feed them a few false leads. Not thorough enough to trump Sherlock though. It had taken 9 days and a 3 hour foot chase across London, but

Summary: There are some things none of us understand. Things like falling in love with Sherlock Holmes.
Warnings: Slash. May trigger intense periods of crying over the cruelty of the BBC.
Disclaimer: I don't own Sherlock. If I did, the series finale would certainly not have involved John Watson's heart breaking into a million tiny pieces.
Notes: This is kind of part of a series of fics (Must Be Mad, More Than I Am, Lovers of the Lost, and Of Course, Of Course.) They can be read as a series, or as stand-alone stories

The dark haired detective took a cab and told the driver to let him out in front of Scotland Yard. The traffic was not so terrific and they only moved forward slowly. Sherlock didn't mind, as he was in no hurry to get there. Right now he had to process his problem. It wasn't so much a problem, but more like a puzzle which he didn't know the correct solution to. Sherlock couldn't rely on his brain and his body had betrayed him. He looked out of the window, not really seeing the city pass by him. His train of thoughts always came back to the feeling of kissing John, his warm lips and ragged breath, his dilated pupils. Of course Sherlock had noticed all of this, even though his brain hadn't worked perfectly and hadn't been as fast as usual. He knew that John had liked the kiss and that he was attracted to Sherlock. Quite certainly did he want to kiss Sherlock again and for the consulting detective it wasn't any different. But he didn't know wh
