Took a little breather and did what I guess you could call a speedpaint (didn't spend super-long on this) for fun. My husband and I just finished watching season one of BBC Sherlock (LOVED it!), and I thought it would be fun to do some fanart. I've seen dozens of drawings already, but not an anthro yet! So, thought I'd do something different... ha ha, if not predictable, for me ^^;

I can't draw people. Thus, dogs...?

Sherlock is the belgian shepherd and John is the sable collie.

Flora is such a gentle person... most of the time. In all likelihood, she was probably the one who inflicted those wounds, but at least she's willing to set things right. Licking a wound is a strong instinct in Keidran, who believe it aids in the healing process.

Now in color! Since I already posted the sketch, I'll just include the description I used before:

In celebration of the 8th anniversary of Twokinds, I decided to draw a picture of the characters who started it all: Trace, Flora and Keith. In the beginning, these were the only characters I had planned. It might not seem like it today, but originally, these three were going to be in a love triangle. According to the first scripts, Keith and Flora were meant to be involved in a sort of love-hate relationship. This idea was eventually scrapped though, and soon after, Natani was introduced to balance out the group. You can still tell, though, in some of the earlier comics, that Keith was originally supposed to become attracted by her.

Many things have changed since the original inception of the comic. Lots of ideas were being thrown around at the time, and many were scrapped and added along the way, to make up the comic you all know now as Twokinds. Still, it's fun to look back occasionally, and wonder what could have been.

From tumblr. I had to do some traveling by air last week, so I kept myself busy drawing a stupid response to a thoughtful reader question.
