This one was roughly inspired by some lovely Balinese art, but with a Midwestern twist. Her face features rolling cropland under a clear blue sky, and her headdress is made out of maize leaves and blue/red corn. The gem in the middle of her forehead is glas, with marbled blue, green, and gold.

A kusudama flower I made with added little gold bling (wootwoot) the other day out of boredom. This picture was taken after an afternoon thunderstorm on an old picnic table in my backyard. Something about the photo reminds me of a mermaid, hence the title (which is part of a song the mermaid sings in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides).
