You ran as fast as your short, scarred legs could. Your body ached but you didn't care. Anything to get away from your pursuers. You were an 8 year old girl who recently became an orphan.
A few days ago you had been thrown out of your home, by your own father, your only living family. Your mother had died when giving birth to you and you didn't have any siblings.
The abandonment forced you to mature above that of an 8 year old, but not in a good way. You had managed pretty good on your own so far, hiding in the shadows, sneaking small amounts of food from bypassing people and sleeping under a bridge. But this time you weren't feeling well and had been caught in action and now they were chasing you.
"Come back here, you little thief!"
You didn't listen (I mean who would?) and kept running. You ran until you were certain you weren't followed anymore.
You noticed it was quite dark out and decided to find someplace you could sleep. You looked around and noticed a thicket.

No. No. This was not happening. It just wasn't. It couldn't be.
Why. On EARTH. Was Romano 'Lovino' Vargas, holding a baby right now?
Well, it had started out as a normal day, Lovino running a few errands for his brother, Feliciano.
Now of course, in all stories, nothing ever turns out as just a normal day.
So naturally, things became chaotic.
First, the weather turned to rain, which then turned into a complete downpour. Cursing loudly, Lovino did the best he could to cover himself up with his groceries. Curse him and his stupid mind for not buying a car! Or at least an umbrella...
When suddenly, he heard small cry come out from a nearby alleyway.
Lovino stopped in his tracks. The rain butchered the noise, and to him, it sounded like a person's voice. Carefully, Lovino stepped into the alleyway, preparing for an attacker. What he saw was a little different.
A baby, no older than ten months.
First, Lovino's mouth dropped open in shock and disgust. What kind of sick bastard le

Papa looked over at you with a glare. You gave him one back and jabbed at him with the broom you had.
In order to keep Bella, your babysitter, from taking you down for a nap, you built a fort.
Using two of the dining room chairs, a few pillows, a blanket, and some of the kitchen pots, you built the sturdiest fort ever built by a four year old.
And just for extra measures, you took the broom and used the rounded end to jab Bella or anyone who got close enough and took the pasta strainer and used it for a helmet.
"That's okay Bella," Papa said. "Why don't you go home and get some rest and we'll see you tomorrow?"
Bella smiled and nodded. "Alright. Good bye Lovino." She looked at you with her cat like smile and waved goodbye. "Good bye ___________!"
You give her a small glare as she left. One the door closed, Papa turned to you and your little fort and crossed his arms sternly.
