“Hey, Yaya.” You said as you adjusted one of the wigs at Yaya’s booth, smiling as she smiled at you.
“Hi __y/n__!” Yaya said cheerfully, grabbing a lollipop from a bag underneath the table.
She popped the pink end into her mouth and sucked on it, flashing you another smile as you reached into a box to get a print out. You arranged them neatly on the table and chuckled in amusement as a cute little girl stepped nervously up the table, shyly asking Yaya for a picture.
Yaya agreed immediately, stepping away from the table and placing an arm around the girl while her mother snapped a photo. The girl squealed quietly as she walked away with her mother, practically bouncing in excitement.
That was one of the things you adored about Yaya, she was so genuine. She was sweet and nice to everyone, always willing to take a picture or sign a photo.
“How do I look?” Yaya asked, spinning around for you as she was preparing to leave the booth again.

I'll just call you that, if you don't mind. I know it's not your real name, but your real name hard to pronounce for me. Impossible, practically. I'm not particularly proud of that. After all, I am your father and it would be fair to call you by your actual name. But it seems few people around you have a feel for the Mohawk tongue, so like them, I will call you by a simpler name.
It's been three days since you left. Three days since you walked away from me in Valley Forge. You threatened to kill me should I follow or stop you and I have not seen you since.
Frankly, I wonder if I should have gone after you. Should have helped you. I should have simply ignored your threats and followed you anyway. Maybe then, you'd see things my way. Maybe you would finally listen to me. Maybe then, you would see reason and finally trust me.
Still, trusting is a hard thing for you to do, isn't it? After all the idealist nonsense that that senile fool Achilles put in

"Selina," he answers, his voice rough. His arm is around my waist, one leg protectively draped over both of mine from behind. I don't need him to take care of me, but honestly, it's nice to sleep with both eyes shut. I've never felt safe in a man's arms like this.
"Talia," I whisper. Maybe I won't have to voice the rest of the question on my tongue. He is the world's greatest detective.
All I get from him is silence. He doesn't want to guess what I'm getting at, in either fear or hope that he's wrong.
"You slept with her."
"And she knew? Knows?"
"Selina..." I feel him sigh silently behind me. "Does it bother you?"
"I don't know." My answer is honest, and very quiet. It does bother me, but I don't know how long it will.
He stifles a yawn in my neck, and I can feel how much he doesn't want to do this right now. "Talia was the first

LoyaltiesJoseph Kane sat in his office in WayneTech working on his research. It was late at night, and usually he was back at Wayne Manor. Yeah, but here I'm the master of my little corner of Wayne Enterprises and not being barked at by Bruce for being slow in finding data. Joseph sighed, ever since he arrived in Gotham, he'd been practically been working non stop as the info gatherer and hacker for Batman, who just happened to be his boss and landlord Bruce Wayne. All because he wanted to earn proper training, so he could be a hero once again. Right now, he was glad to be working late on a personal project.Loyalties2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

“NOOOOOOO” Nightwing yelled at the top of his lungs. Red Hood dove and caught me, slowly placing me on the ground. The rain was intense yet comforting; I looked down and saw the blood escaping my body. Red Robin kicked Harley Quinn to the floor and came rushing towards me. Batman knocked Joker out and stood in disbelief. “Out of the way, Robin...Oh god” Nightwing was hesitant about touching my wound. “Grayson” I struggled to say with the breath I had left I looked at Batman....”Father.....” he dropped down beside me.
The Joker slowly got up chuckling like a manic, “Well another bird boy down hey?” Jason immediately stood up pointing his gun at Joker “Me...That was alright but a kid? That’s just sick” he said as he shot Joker in the arm.

My vision finally began to blur as the door slowly opened. I soon became alert. A little figure slowly entered the room. With the curtains opened it was easier to tell the little figure was Damian in his finlet PJ’s with a hood attached to the shirt (curtsy of Alfred), with the light of the moon I could see the tears rolling down his face. I knew what to do after all this was the sixth time this month this has happened. I picked Damian up and walked over to my bed, as I sat down he instantly curled and pressed his face against my body. I realised was hugging the teddy bear I “secretly” put in his room. I rubbed his head and hugged him as the tears went down his face...”The nightmare again?” I asked although I knew the answer. He simply nodded and hugged the teddy bear tighter. AUTHOR'S NOTE: I've been sitting on this one for a while. I didn't know if I liked it when I first wrote it and then I kind of forgot about it. However, my new poll has reminded me that many of you want to see more in the Linchpin verse, so I dug this out and cleaned it up a bit. It's nothing but pure fluff – which is why I think I'm so iffy about it. There is no Robin Torture at all in it! Seriously!
DISCLAIMER: I've said it many times, but I'll say it again because I don't want to be sued: They're not mine! (Please don't sue me!)

Jason didn't know how long he had sat there, next to the bed of his dead brother. It could have been minutes, seconds; hours… at this point he didn't care. All he cared about was that he failed Dick. He'd let him die, he could have helped in some way. He didn't bother to clean the blood off his face where it was slowly drying. He deserved it, deserved to have his brother's blood on him, as a reminder that he had failed.
He knew he couldn't have known about the explosion. But he still failed Dick. He growled at himself just as the door opened. Doctor Leslie Tompkins walked into the room. She looked at Jason; he was in the shadows, his eyes covered in dark red blood. She stepped back for a second, startled at the sight. "Jason…" was all she said. She walked over and helped the young man up. "Tim's waiting outside for you…" she said, knowing they were short on time. Jason slowly walked out just as the team walked in.
Tim was sitting in one o

Wally walked into the warehouse, the same one that he had seen Artemis leave with Kaldur. He sighed, his features tense. He didn't know how he was going to tell both of them, but he needed to. He wouldn't leave the two of them in the dark. He walked towards a few boxes, leaning against them, and waited. He felt terrible, felt like he had gotten hit by a truck in fact. He didn't know what he was going to do. He sighed again; he couldn't just come out and say it. "Hey guys, you know that bomb you put in the Mountain? Ya well Nightwing sort of got caught in the explosion and he might die." Ya, that sounded like it would go over well.
"Wally?" a feminine voice asked into the warehouse.
"Artemis?" He walked towards the voice, the mask of a tiger showed in the dark. Artemis stepped out, her blond hair not really fitting with the color of the costume. Wally always loved her in green, he didn't like the new tiger themed costume, he didn't like havi

He held in his hands his Kid Flash costume. It almost felt heavy in his hands. Retiring had been his idea, and to do that he had to give up the costume and all that came with it. Artemis went along with it surprisingly well. She chose to keep one last costume of hers for memory’s sake though (maybe it would be used for late night patrols when she wanted to relax). Wally thought he should too, but that would go against his idea of retirement. It was a bit of a conundrum in the Crock-West household.
The ginger shook his head at the thought, trying to shake it out. No more arguments about hero stuff, that was the agreement. Only arguing about what they should have for dinner, or who was the better kisser. Wally was adamant that he was. Artemis

I snake my arm around Wally’s waist, “Maybe in a bit, we have to talk with Bruce. Is he home?”
“Yes, he is in his study.”
I look up at Wally as we walk out of the library and towards Bruce’s study. His eyes were sunken in and his face was pale; he looked… empty. It’s amazing that he could have been in such a good mood this morning and now he was in this pit of depression. The words Wally and depressed just didn’t even seem to go together.

Time seemed to slow as Jason pulled out the gun from its holder. The gun was pressed against Kaldur's head and the trigger was being pulled back. But Tim was faster, he dove at Jason, knocking him off Kaldur just as the gun was about to go off. The gun fired, hitting the ground right next to Kaldur's head and flew off to some unknown place.
