A Fall Infection or 'Autumnal Cellulitis' is inevitably fatal. As Fall spreads, chlorophyll from beneath the epidermis is lost, causing the tissue to turn from a healthy green to yellow, orange, or even red as the infection worsens. Because the organ no longer produces the necessary nutrients, it is cut off from the main body through a process known as abscission. Once abscission begins, the organ quickly dies and simply falls off, leaving the organism with no way of sustaining itself.
