Photography allows to capture timeless pictures but such scenes only last a few minutes, and each one is very unique. The most interesting ones amongst infinite combination of lighting, clouds, perspective and composition, are definitely very precious moments.

The twin peaks of Agulles d'Amitges reflect in the Estany Gran d'Amitges in the Parc Nacional d'Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici during one of the most spectacular sunrises I have ever witnessed in an alpine environment. Thick fog was pushing over the crest of Pic de Bassiero towards the east, when all erupted in the most amazing symphony of oranges and reds. The light show only lasted for a very brief period before the clouds took over and shut the light down. The water was perfectly still that morning, so the deep azure water reflected the scene perfectly and I couldn't have wished for more stunning conditions.
I have a vertical version of this scene uploaded here already, but I thought I would post the horizontal version as well. What the vertical doesn't show well, is the source of light. I was able to blend two exposures together to bring out the most of the amazing light that I witnessed this evening. This resulted in a fairly fine band of light streaking across the landscape and painting the ridge on the left. It was one of the most amazing light shows I have seen, and was fortunate to view this scene with just a few other photographers who I was camping with.
