The Inescapable Truth - Chapter 2 (Twilestia)
"Time to study?"
The wind flowed through Twilight's mane as she watched Canterlot grow bigger and bigger. Her mane would be a mess when they would arrive, but she didn't give it much thought, there were far bigger problems at hoof than looks at the moment.
With the time left after the initial shock, she had managed to skim through a few books related to today's subject long range teleporting. Be that as it may, this was nowhere near the preparations she had gone through for the other lessons, and she didn't like that at all. Of course she was able to improvise, at least to some extent, and she did have a rather impressive background knowledge of well, everything. She was also a fast learner, something that Princess Celestia greatly appreciated. Celestia enjoyed reminding Twilight about how talented she was every chance she got, always causing the mare to blush fiercely.
Not even this, however, changed the fact that she liked to be prepared

Twilight Sparkle, a unicorn with a lavender coat and an indigo mane with a pink and purple highlight, was gazing out of her bedroom window after a night of restless sleep. She was completely lost in her thoughts, which had almost become a morning habit for her. As of late, everywhere she went or anything she did, she was always accompanied by a strange feeling of hollowness or loneliness. Or at least this was the best she was able to make of it. Even though she had many good friends, always on her side trying to get through things together and cheer her up along the way, this particular feeling wouldn't go away. She hadn't had a good night's sl

"Can you keep a secret?"
Twilight was lying in her bed wide awake, staring at the ceiling. The sunlight was creeping into the room behind the thick blue curtains; the light filtering through casted faint shadows on the walls. The mare was going over yesterday's lesson in her head. Instead of ending awkwardly like the one earlier this week, it had just been awkward in general. The lengthy discussions she and the Princess usually had about the books had been diminished into a few words and there had been no "ideas" from Princess Celestia. At least this time Twilight had been prepared for it, though the way she prepared for something like this meant that there was rarely much more she could learn. Luckily studying was something Twilight greatly enjoyed. She also got to spend time with the Princess - something she enjoyed even more, lately more than ever. But no matter how much she loved all this, she hadn't been able to shake the nagging feeling that s

"It's good to see that you decided to come, love." Twilight heard as she entered the balcony. She couldn't help but smile at the sight of Princess Luna standing before her, also smiling at her. But there was also a glint in Princess's eye's that told her that there was something else going on.
"Of course I would come." Twilight replied as she closed the door. "I mean it's not really hard when you are invited to your own balcony" Twilight joked. She then started laughing, which quickly had Luna joining her.
"Yes." Luna then said, letting out a last small chuckle.
"But in all seriousness, what did you want to show me Luna?" Twilight asked as she walked to her Princess.
"Why don't we lay down first?" Luna suggested once Twilight was at her side.
"So..." Twilight started as she laid next to Luna.
"I'm sure you are familiar with Equestria's history?" Luna began. T

Love Is In Bloom
Princess Luna stared at the newly married couple who were dancing in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by other couples swaying to the music. Luna had never felt happier, as this was her first wedding in over a thousand years. For a moment, she felt a pang of guilt, that she might have missed many weddings like this.
But then again, last time she had attended any royal weddings, they weren't this lively. Well, last time they didn't have Pinkie Pie. Last time, she was also a bit uptight. And a bit more tempered. But that was in the past. She felt quite proud that this party was being held, right under her night sky. It gave her the hope that she needed. The hope that everypony actually enjoyed her night!
She had learned from her mistakes, and now she was herse

Luna was soon flying over the outskirts of Ponyville, the orchard of apple trees that made up the Sweet Apple Acres orchard speeding past. She could see Twilight's library approaching, easily spotted since it was the only building that was literally carved into a live tree. How the building stayed alive without its internal structuring, Luna never knew. Although, looking over it, she became aware of the dull light that was slowly spreading from the eastern horizon. She had almost forgotten her one true duty of being the Goddess of the Night.
Flipping over so that she was flying upside down, she focused on the huge, pearly white moon that hovered overhead. With a glowing hand outstretched, she slowly pulled it down to the western horizon, releasing it so it may follow the orbital path itself. The beautiful patterns of stars, which she designed herself, followed slowly behind.
Luna yawned lightly. Setting the moon every morning was a tiring process, though she insisted tha

"Oh Luna We shouldn't Spike might hear us " Twilight said softly, wrapped in Luna's arms.
"Shh... don't worry about him it's all about us right now " Luna replied sweetly, moving her face back towards Twilight's.
Luna awoke slowly, not quite wanting to leave her dream, but found herself pulled out of it anyways. And like all great dreams, she couldn't manage to fall back asleep to rejoin it. She snuggled close to the soft, warm pillow she had her arms wrapped around. Hugging it, she nuzzled her face into the soft, sweet smelling locks of hair that lay next to her. She loved the small, dreamy moan it made when she traced her fingers over its soft fabric. Conscious thoughts appeared in her head as it seemed to snuggle backwards into her. 'Wait Moan? Hair!?'
Her eyes flashed open immediately, and her dream seemed to have come true. She was lying in bed, her arms encircled around Twilight, who was pressed up against her, though somehow still

"I'm afraid that this is a business call of sorts, Twilight darling," said Rarity, sitting down at Twilight's coffee table as the lavender-coated unicorn poured them both a cup of tea. "I've come to draw upon that limitless knowledge of yours in all things magical."
Twilight blushed and her ears went back in embarrassment. "Oh, I wouldn't call it 'limitless' exactly," she said, letting the teapot float down onto the table-top. "But I hope I can help you."
Rarity smiled back at her. "Oh, thank you darling. It's just a little question that's come up with a dress I've been asked to design for Hoity Toity's autumn range." She levitated her cup to her lips and inhaled its delicious fragrance. "You see, there's been some disagreement regarding the shape of a floral pattern that's going to be embroidered on the hem of this exquisite little cocktail dress that we're working on. Luna looked out at the dark lands of Equestria. She leaned against the stone railing that surrounded the balcony of her room, in the second highest tower of Canterlot Castle, the first belonging to her sister. She soon found her eyes landing on the small town of Ponyville, watching as lights went out, one after another, as the inhabitants retired to bed. She let out a long sigh, her eyes dropping to stare at her hands, which were folded and resting on the carefully carved balcony border. Yes, she knew not many people stayed up to enjoy her beautiful nights, but it pained her to see the loneliness that turned her into the dreaded Nightmare Moon, stare at her in the face again.
"Problem, sister?" Luna nearly jumped out of her skin as she felt a hand suddenly land on her shoulder, though she turned her head to find Celestia's smiling face beside her. "You looked like something was troubling you is something wrong?"
Luna shook her head. "Oh, no, of course not. Everything

It was once again cider season for Ponyville. There was a lot of excitement for the first day of cider the next day. Applejack headed into the library to see how her friend Twilight was doing. "Howdy Twilight!"
Twilight looked over with a causal smile looking up from a book that she was reading. "Hey Applejack, looking forward to cider season starting tomorrow?" She knew it was a huge thing that gave the Apples their income as well as the Zap Apple Jam.
"Of course, but we're puttin' a stop to Pinkie's hoggin', there's a five glasses per day per costumer limit now."
"That is good I am sure Rainbow Dash will be very happy about that."
Applejack nodded. "Darn tootin' she will."
Twilight chuckled and smiled at her friend. "Well I hope that it goes well all the same AJ."
"Thank ya sugarcube." Applejack after that headed out.

"Rainbow?" Applejack said, frowning in disbelief. "Rainbow Dash? Really?"
Rarity nodded. "Oh darling, it suddenly occurred to me while I was chatting with Twilight over tea this morning. She said she felt as if she was missing something, and I suggest that it was somepony she was missing, rather. And when I suggested it was young Spike, she laughed. But then I remembered that Rainbow was also out of town. As you know, she's in Canterlot at the moment helping the Wonderbolts with the Spring Moon Festival performance that rather striking Spitfire has a marvellous aerial spectacle in store for the Princess Luna, I hear."
"Ah dunno, Rarity," said Applejack. "Ah mean, Twi and Rainbow? What do those two even have in common?"

Spike brushed his teeth, getting his breakfast off his breath, and replacing it with the minty coolness of toothpaste. He could simply breathe fire to get rid of it, but he decided this was better than the smell of incinerated bacon and eggs. He rinsed his mouth, and walked back to his bedroom. There was one more thing he needed to retrieve before leaving. He walked to his bedside table, opened the drawer, and delicately picked up the shiny silver object. Just then, the doorbell rang.
He quickly pocketed it and glanced out his door. Luna was standing there, talking to Applebloom. He marveled for a moment how pretty she was in that yellow sundress and bow, which matched her dazzling orange eyes perfectly. He was glad he took extra care into making his usually crazed pillow head of green hair presentable. Though, her quickly surprised face snapped him out of it.
"Um I was just wondering if Spike was ready-"

"All right, everypony, take your places," Celestia said with a hurried tone and observed as her orders were followed. Somepony was missing so she bowed her head down next to Spike and whispered. "Where's Twilight?"
"Uhm..." Spike said and scratched his head. "I don't know. She said she'd be here."
"Well congratulations then, Spike. You just got promoted to ring bearer."
A red felt pillow hovered into his arms. Celestia rose again and looked out at the congregation. Shining Armour and Luna both stood before her. Only a few other ponies sat on the benches. It was the rehearsal and only the mane six, the bridesmaids and a few others were gathered. Celestia cleared her throat and was about to begin the faux ceremony when the doors flew open. Twilight ran up the aisle between the seats with a confident smile on her lips.

Moments later, there was a loud whoosh as a multi-coloured streak flew overhead and Rainbow Dash came in to land on the cloud not far away from the assembled group and quickly trotted up to them.
"It's so awesome that you guys could all come!" she said, grinning at her friends. Then she bowed to Celestia and Luna, saying "Spitfire sends her apologies, Your Highnesses - she's still not happy with some of the choreography and she wants to fit in as much rehearsal as possible before tonight."
Celestia smiled. "It sounds as if you have a wonderful show prepared for us tonight."
Rainbow nodded enthusiastically, but then frowned suddenly. "I just hope everything goes according to plan " and nopony screws anything up! A vision of a certain blonde-maned Pegasus pony with quizzical eyes appeared before her and she resisted groaning out loud.

Then...just as Twilight started to converse with Celestia about everything she had learned in Ponyville, and all of her wonderful adventures and friends, Luna suddenly appeared and whispered something into the solar Princess' ear. Later that day Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, dressed in the new gowns that Rarity had designed especially for the Spring Moon Festival, were waiting in the Town Square in the clear and mild spring air for Twilight to arrive with their transportation.
"I thought we were going by air balloon," said Pinkie Pie with some disappointment. The truth was, she loved flying in it every opportunity she could get.
"Now darling," said Rarity indulgently. "That's scarcely a dignified way for us to arrive in Canterlot, all squashed together in that tiny gondola! Besides, it's traditional when travelling to Canterlot to go by coach."

"Just a little out-of-the-way place I like to visit now and then, when the responsibilities of being Princess of Equestria get a bit too much," explained Celestia. "I think it should be especially quiet tonight with everypony out in the streets enjoying the festival. Oh, and here we are!"
The alley opened out into a tiny square with a number of little shops opening off of it. There was a tack-repair shop, with newly-worked bridles hanging near the door to dry; an apothecary, with its tell-tale sign of a winged-staff and the thick scent of medicines and ointments which Twilight could smell from where they were standing; and a charming little...

In the cool night air there was a slight breeze that carried a stray leaf across the air on it's back, floating in a beautiful fluttering way as it trailed lazily past the snout of a tall and slender alicorn pony. She breathed deeply with a steady rhythm and the stars seemed to glow and fade with the rising and falling of her slim flank, she looked beautiful in the moonlight, though sad. She continued to gaze out over the horizon at the endless field of glowing lights. As a solitary tear rolled down her lovely face, a single star fell slowly from the sky.

Time moved painfully slow in Ponyville. The more Twilight thought about it, the more irritated she became. Eventually, she magically imploded the only clock in her library house for she no longer wished to be reminded of time. The incessant ticking, tick after tock, just reminded her how long she had been separated from Luna. She knew it was just an unnecessary stress, so she took care of it.
In roughly two days' time, Twilight had gone from quasi-competent Aura Bloom competitor to anti-social hermit, bent on sheltering in her house as if sunlight would make her transparent. Her friends knew she was emotionally distressed, but they were still clueless as to why. They all believed that she was still upset about her failure in the Aura Bloom; there was hardly any suspicion that she was aching on a much more profound level.
After running away from Luna, she spent little time in Canterlot. Her things had alread
