Gift - Bitter SweetNot even the rain that pattered on the large, thin window panes could disturb him from his trance.Gift - Bitter Sweet10 months ago in Short Stories More Like This
He was deep in thought, ignorant of the sounds outside of his room. The only movements he made were the blinking of both eyes, and rise and fall of his chest. He sat back in his chair, hands loosely hanging off the arms, and did not move an inch since he sat down.
His eyes were trained on the weather behind the window, though he barely took notice of it. He concentrated on the pale, transparent reflection he saw of himself. He saw his frowning eyebrows, his lips that formed a straight line across his face, his hair which had seen better days, and most of all, the eyes that stared back at him. Behind the reflection, the clouds coloured his skin and darkened the hair colour.
Thats what his mind was like right now. A never-ending band of clouds that slowly crossed the sky. The rain that came from them damped his mood. The rain would cause weeds to grow. Weeds that clung to his mind and

He stared at the golden crispness of a slice of toast held in his hand in front of him for a moment until suddenly, someone's hand waved side to side in between, breaking the deeply focused eye contact he had with it. "Huh?" He lowered the toast and looked at who was in front of him. He realized he was sitting at a small marble round dining table with tea and treats set in the bright sunny green outdoors, while accompanied by a young woman sitting opposite to him. He could hear birds singing gleefully and subtle winds rustling the foliage of nearby trees, bushes and grass all around. The whole scenery literally feels like a breath of fresh air. He took a quick glance at her in slight confusion but it was also somehow relieving and delightful.
"What's on your mind?" she asked curiously with a light smile while tilting her head slightly to the side.
"Oh," he seated the toast back onto his plate and shook his head moderately and calmly, "it's nothing." He returned with a light smile of hi

He found himself lying in a thin flood of the middle of a quiet rainy town, staring at the smoky grey clouds in the sky and falling rain drops upon him. Slowly raising himself halfway with a bit of a struggle, he glanced around. The sight of everything looked almost colourless. The streets seemed to be completely deserted. On a gloomy day like this, who wouldn't stay indoors? He made his way onto his feet and held his jacket up from hanging off, feeling the heavy drench in his hair and clothing. The rain was not cold, but rather calming. He wished he had an umbrella but it would have been pointless anyway. He wondered what he was doing here on the ground. But, he let the thought pass. He wasn't sure where he was, but it had a familiar feeling, as if he had been here before. Without a destination in mind, he started walking aimlessly, hoping to be somewhere.
Splish, splash. The sound of water dancing all around and beneath his footsteps, and the occasional thunder from above. It filled

The Boy with Wings.
In the little town of Willow Creek, the trees have left their spring glow and now burn with the fiery leaves of autumn. The sky is so vast and the clouds seem so close you could touch them. The surrounding land is full of forest that is lit with the colors of the sun. Not everybody in Willow Creek can see the beauty of neither the earth nor anything else that once was.
As this town grows, the streets and buildings will consume the land. The little areas of life left leave little traces that "they" were here. Now "they" live among us.
"They" are fae. "They" are fairies.
Jeanne Reed is a very plain girl. That is what at least I have always been told my whole entire life. I am Jeanne, yes; I never have been told that I was pretty, cool, or even smart. I guess I am nothing at all. I just moved to Willow Creek to live with grandmother.
My mother sent me to live here actually. She thought it'd be best if I had s

The Best Arguments end in Confession
My best friend of ten years knocked on my door, tears running down his face. I looked at him with concerned eyes before inviting him in, gesturing to the couch.
"Come in, have a seat," I said, not sure of what to do next. He sat down in silence and wiped the tears off his face. I took a deep breath. "I thought you were going out with your girlfriend tonight?" I asked carefully.
"I did. That's the problem," he said with a shaky voice. I sighed and rolled my eyes slightly. It wasn't a gesture of annoyance at him but annoyance towards her.
"Why do you love her if all she does is hurt you?!" I asked harshly. Although, I knew all to well why. After all, I loved him and all he ever did was hurt me. Of course, the difference here was that he didn't know I loved him. The two of them were dating. It was implied in the agreement to date that they loved each other. I guess the reason I was so frustrated about the situation was because he was just so...clueless
My AnswerMy Answer2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I am sorry,
I shouldn't have kept you waiting.
This is wrong of me.
Hope you accept my apology.
The answer is still unclear,
But I really like you.
It is hard to choose right now,
Hope you understand what I am going through.
I don't mean to hurt anybody,
I let my emotions get in the way.
I am hurting right now,
Causing me to be unfocused all day.
So right now,
Just let me be.
All I want to do is,
Just to concentrate on my studies.
Please be patient,
I am just not ready to balance,
Such relationships and just being friends.

I thought you had it sorted in your head
so that you wouldn't feel sorry.
But look at you now,
wishing and regretting.
You're breaking down,
probably close to crying.
If you tore me apart twice
do you really think I'd stay glued on you?
I hope you didn't think I'd still be stupid and nice.
I'm not coming back, I hope you know that's true.
You're still hung up on our past
while I've moved on and found a more amazing someone.
I thought I'd be the last
to get over it, but looks like I'm the one having fun.
After all my big talk
of never being able to love again,
I realized now that I've picked myself up to walk;
feeling stupid for what I had said then.
You fixed me the last time you broke my heart
even after I told you that I had to do it myself.
Now he's sewn the pieces together, I'm no longer fallen apart.
All I want is him and no one else.
After everything I took,
after the Hell you put me through,
I'm no longer hooked
on you, but I can tell you I d

A Promise Is A Promise...Though a promise is a promise,A Promise Is A Promise...2 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
it's a promise not worth keeping
if you say that you love me
without a pure meaning.
But if it made you happy to just get up and go,
then it'll be just fine.
At least I hope; I don't know...
it might kill me inside.
If you ever stop loving me,
leave me right there and then.
Don't lead me into more than enough heartbreak and agony
that I would have to stitch and mend.
Because even if a promise is a promise, in this case, it has an exception.
Stay if you love me, leave if you don't.
Don't stay and succumb to lust; don't make me go through deception
because that's something I can't deal with; I can't and I won't.
